It's been a while since my friend Hailey and I hung out since she moved.
It was nice that we finally had time to catch up on many things. While I was tidying up my living room, my mom spoke.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
I turned around to look at her and saw that she was dressed like she was going on a date.
She wore a tight-fitted red dress and black pumps and tied her hair into a bun.
I was shocked. The last time I saw her dress this decent was when she and my dad went to a family friend's wedding.
I wondered where she was going since my dad had to work late.
But then I remembered when she told him that she planned on having a girls' night out this week.
"I'm cleaning up a bit since Hailey is coming over. You look nice today." I complimented her, and she smiled a bit.
"Oh, I know. Also, make sure you and Hailey don't make a mess when I come back," She replied with attitude.
"We won't," I looked away from her and rolled my eyes, continuing what I was doing before.
Seconds after she walked away, I heard the doorbell ring and opened the front door.
"Hey." I smiled and hugged Hailey. She hugged me back.
"Hey, how have you been?" She asked.
"I've been doing well, you?" I closed the door behind me.
"Same; hey, did you record Teen Wolf?" She asked.
"I did since I didn't have time to watch it earlier this week," I replied.
"Well, let's go watch it. I watched it before, but I don't mind since Derek Hale is bae." She flopped down on the couch.
"Alright, but I'll be back," I replied, walking to the kitchen to get some ice cream.
I turned on the kitchen lights and took out some ice cream from the fridge and utensils with bowls to use. I then headed back to the living room and handed her a bowl with a spoon.
Once we settled down, I turned on T.V. and played the recorded show of Teen Wolf.
"Yaasss!" Hailey said when she saw Derek Hale.
"The show hasn't even started yet," I said.
"I know, but come on, he's hot." She laughed a little.
"Should I tell Josh to watch out?" I asked jokingly.
"He knows my love for Teen Wolf and Derek Hale. If I had to choose between Josh and Derek Hale to save well..."
"You better choose Josh," I playfully punched her lightly on the arm.
"I was just joking." She laughed.
"You better be." I narrowed my eyes at her.
Hopefully, her fan fantasy for Derek Hale wouldn't overcome reality.
"Anyway, what's up with you and Jeremy?" She smirked, lowering the volume on the TV.
"What do you mean? He and I are just friends." I replied, thinking of Jeremy being nothing more than a friend I had known since my first year. He had a tall, slender figure, from his messy brown hair down to his worn-out combat boots and clothes two sizes too big.
"Seriously, it's pretty obvious that he likes you," She teased.
"Yeah, he's not my typeâ"
"And you say that about everyone," She raised a brow.
"And what's wrong with being single," I playfully rolled my eyes.
"Nothing, I was just trying to help..." She shrugged, "Anyway, I'm going to the bathroom," She headed towards the bathroom.
"Alright," I muttered under my breath.
While watching some T.V., my cell phone suddenly rang, and I answered.
"Hello."
"I know what you did last summer?" They said, and I gasped.
"Who is this?" I asked.
"Look inside your closet."
After I heard those words, my heart was beating alarmingly. Before I could do anything else, the person on the end spoke.
"Whaaaat's uuuuppp?!" Hailey laughed.
"You asshole..."
"Calm on...you have to admit that was a good oneâ"
"I'm going to smack you since you nearly gave me a heart attack," I rolled my eyes. But she kept on laughing like a damn hyena.
If she thought she could get away with this prank, she had another thing coming.
