COOPER HAS his head buried between my thighs, eating me out like itâs his last fucking mealâyou think it was, heâs been so dramatic about making sure everything is perfect before we leave for the Frozen Fourâand Iâm on the edge of coming again when I notice the clock. Back when I first saw his bedroom, I told him he was an old man for having an old-fashioned alarm clock by his bedside, but now? Iâm grateful, because without it, I wouldnât have realized that we needed to leave for campus at least ten minutes ago. Fifteen, if we were really smart.
Weâre clearly not smart.
I hadnât planned on waking him with my best Arwen impression, but I saw The List while I was flipping through my notebook during a writing session yesterday, and I remembered that we technically didnât cross off every item, and I already had the ears, and well⦠that led to making out, which led to a vaginal orgasm that made me squirt, which led to Cooper getting that look in his eyes that means Iâm about to be devoured. Itâs a look Iâm powerless to resist, but in my defense, I think most women would agree with me. You donât get eye-fucked by Cooper Callahan and then turn him down when he gets on his knees.
I smack my palm against his shoulder. âCooper!â
âMm,â he says.
The vibration of his voice makes me lose my focus, but then I see my phoneâon the floor, half under his deskâlight up with a call. Iâd bet my last orgasm thatâs Dad calling, wondering why the hell weâre not at Markley Center, ready to drive to the airport. âCooper. Callahan. Weâre going to be late.â
He just swirls his tongue around my clit. âI love it when you say my name like that.â
âIâm serious.â
âMy Queen, youâre not leaving without another orgasm.â
I giggle at his faux-serious tone, but it turns into a gasp when he rubs right against my g-spot. âBabeâ¦â
âWe have time. Give me another one quick and then weâll leave.â
âWe definitely do not have time,â I grumble, but I stay in place. My orgasm is building, anyway; a few more strokes and the tightness in my belly will ease. I grab at his hair, pulling him even closer to my cunt, and he rewards me by sucking on my clit. When I do come, muffled into my shoulder so we donât have to endure the awkwardness of explaining why weâre running late to his siblings, he sighs, resting his head on my belly.
âGood girl,â he murmurs. Those two brief words make happiness glow in my chest, because I fucking love being his good girlâthe only thing thatâs better is being his brat, because he gets all growlyâbut then I remember that thereâs no time for cuddling.
I tug on his hair hard enough he looks up. âCome on,â I say. âWe need to get dressed.â
âI wish I never gave Izzy the ownerâs suite,â he says as he throws on his clothes. âIâm all sticky.â
âOh, shut it,â I say with a scowl as I hop around, throwing on my sweater first because Iâm dreading the whole panties situation. âLook what you did to me. My underwear is going to get soaked.â
He just tosses me a clean t-shirt. âWipe yourself down with that.â He pokes around his desk, his hamper, the sheets. âI need myâfucking hell. I need my Yankees cap.â
âJust leave it,â I say. âBring the bags downstairs.â
âItâs my lucky charm, Pen.â
âI thought I was!â
He stops, pressing a kiss to my cheek quickly. âYou are. Youâre my Lucky Penny. But this is a superstition. Itâs very important. The whole Frozen Four isââ
I watch, blinking, as he spins on his heel and runs out of the room. I roll my eyes. Athletes and their superstitions. Not that I have much of a leg to stand on. I remember when I wouldnât do a routine if I didnât have the right color scrunchie in my hair. I rub myself down, sniff at the t-shirt, and wince as I throw it into the hamper.
As I pull up my leggings, I hear someone scream.
I grab Cooperâs alarm clock, the heaviest object I see, and run in the direction of the noise. âCooper?â
Heâs in the hallway⦠with Sebastian. Who is shirtless and scowling. Standing across from them both, though, is Mia. Sheâs dressed and everything, but her lipstick is smudged.
Wait, Mia?
âWhen were you going to tell us?â Cooper is demanding. âAfter the wedding?â
I lower the alarm clock. âWait, are you guys together?â
âItâs complicated,â Sebastian says.
At the same time, Mia says, âHell no.â
âOh my God.â Tangy slinks out of Sebastianâs room, meowing. I scoop her up and hold her close to my chest. âIn front of my daughter, too?â
Sebastian squints at me. âWait, are you wearing elf ears?â
I blush, snatching them off my ears. âNo.â
âDonât change the subject,â Cooper says, his tone positively threatening. âExplain this.â
âThereâs no subject,â Mia hisses. She hoists her bag over her shoulder. âThere was never any subject. And anyway, Iâm leaving.â
We turn and watch as she stomps to the stairs. Cooper raises his eyebrows at me, but I just shrug. Mia mentioned nothing to meâbut as soon as Iâm on the plane, Iâm texting her obnoxious memes until she spills the details.
Before she hurries down the stairs, she flips her long, dark hair back and says, to a stunned Sebastian, âEnjoy watching me leave, Callahan.â
