Chapter 47
âAhâ¦â
Winnie screamed. She covered her stomach and lay in a pool of blood. Under her skirt, there was blood.
It looked horrifying.
Savannaâs face was pale, and the luggage in her hand fell to the ground. She was about to go forward to help Winnie up, but unexpectedly, Brandon moved faster than her. He hastily put on his clothes, rushed over, reached out to pick up Winnie, and rushed out of the hotel.
Brandon accidentally knocked Savanna down due to his panic. He didnât even look back at her and just left in a hurry.
Brandon rushed out and brought along a gust of cold wind that fiercely hit Savannaâs face.

Savanna couldnât help but shiver. She sat on the cold floor and stared at the dark red blood stains on the floor, her eyes empty and confused.
Savanna clenched her fists tightly, trying to suppress the urge to run to the hospital.
Savanna wondered, why do I have to go?
Even if Winnie has a miscarriage, it is Winnieâs fault. What does it have to do with me?
Savanna did not know how long she had been frozen. Until her body was numb, she struggled to get up and sat on the hotelâs snow-white bed in a daze.
Brandon didnât return.
Savanna slept uneasily. In her dream, she saw Brandon keep blaming her with a ruthless expression.
What he said sounded unpleasant. He said that Winnie lost her baby and that Savanna murdered his child. He wanted Savanna to pay a painful price.
Brandonâs face was sinister and terrifying.
When Savanna woke up from her dream, she opened her sour eyes. The pillow was wet by her tears and stuck to her cheek.
Savanna stayed up until dawn. She got up and made the bed. Then she took out her mobile phone to call Brandon to ask about the situation. Just as the number was dialed, she hesitated and clicked the end button
Just as Savanna was in a dilemma, a voice came from outside. She looked at the door and saw that Brandon used the room card to open the door. He looked very tired, and his hair was a little messy. It seemed that he had been tossing and turning for a night without sleeping. His eyes were bloodshot.
âHow ⦠is Winnie?â Savanna asked.

Brandon took off his coat and didnât look at Savanna. He replied in a bland voice, âThe baby is safe,
but sheâs a little depressed.â
Savanna glanced at the wrinkled coat in Brandonâs hand. A part of the coat was wet. Winnie should
have cried in his arms after waking up.
That scene wrung Savannaâs heart.
Savanna twisted her fingers together in silence for a long time. She then said, âDo you think I was the one who harmed her?â
âI did not say that.â
Brandon put his coat on the bed, took clean clothes from his luggage, put them on the bed, and took
off his watch. Then, he walked into the bathroom. Not long later, the sound of running water came
from the bathroom.
Brandon didnât say that, but he thought so.
Brandonâs cold expression showed that he believed Winnieâs performance.
When Brandon came out of the shower, he glanced at the luggage in the corner that Savanna had packed. His eyes turned slightly gloomy. âIâve canceled the plane ticket. I canât leave for now.â
ne
As Brandon said this, he pulled off the towel on his waist. Regardless of Savannaâs presence, he got
changed.
Savanna turned her face away and said softly, âYou can stay with Winnie. Iâll go back to New York.â
âLetâs go together,â Brandon replied as he lowered his head and put on his watch.
âNo need. I have other things to do.â
Savanna picked up her luggage and walked to the door. Without thinking, Brandon rushed up and grabbed her hand.
Savanna looked up at Brandon, who had a gloomier face. Anger welled up inside Savanna. âI didnât push her, and I didnât say those words. Even if Winnie has a miscarriage, it has nothing to do with
ine,â
Savanna was not going to take the blame.
Savanna roared.
Brandon stood in front of her. Under great pressure. Savanna was unable to breathe. However, his
expression did not change. There was no trace of joy or anger in his ice-cold eyes.
Savanna felt impotent.
Frustration arose inside her.
After a moment of silence, Brandon raised his hand. Savannaâs figure swayed, and she retreated two steps in horror. Her face turned pale as she protected her belly.
âYou canât hurt my baby.â
Brandon was stunned. His raised hand froze in mid-air. After a long while, he put his hand back into his pocket. His fingertips pinched into his palm. The pain was bone-piercing.
He just wanted to hug her. Why did she misunderstand that he wanted to hurt her?
Brandon smiled bitterly. âThat is also my child.â
Savanna wondered, Brandon, you love Winnieâs baby more, donât you? Savanna wanted to ask, but
she held back.
She didnât dare to ask or discuss this with Brandon because she didnât have the confidence.
Brandon rubbed Savannaâs hair and said in a gentle tone.
âNo matter what, she is injured and canât go back to New York. She is our friend. We canât leave her alone, right?â
There was nothing wrong with this.
What Brandon said gave Savanna an illusion that they were husband and wife, while Winnie was
just an outsider.
But Savanna knew that it was just her illusion.
If Brandon did not care about Winnie, he would not have sent Winnie to the hospital in such a hurry and stayed in the hospital all night.
âSince she wants to come, why did you let us meet?â
Savanna thought, you know I donât get along with Winnie.
Brandon, are you happy to see me in pain?
Brandon was surprised by Savannaâs question and explained.
âI didnât know Winnie would come, Last night, she called and heard my cough. She said she would come to take care of me. I didnât agree. Who knew that she ⦠would come today?
âIf you donât like her, I wonât let you meet often.â
