In the hot pot restaurant...
Clarence still didnât show up when they finished the meal.
Stella dialed Clarence, yet only to learn that his phone was turned off.
Seeing this, Sherry asked, âStella, whatâs wrong?â
Stella put her phone back into her pocket and shook her head, âNothing. Clarence told me that he will come here just now, but...â
Daniel asked, âDid anything happen to the Conrad Group in these two days?â
âI think so. But when I asked Nathan about this today, he told me they are some insignificant interior affairs and theyâve been solved.â
âSome insignificant interior affairs?â
Stella uncontrollably pressed her lips together when she heard the question. She guessed that Nathan probably didnât tell her about the truth.
However, now that they didnât want to talk too much about this, she didnât probe into it.
But based on Danielâs attitude, it seemed like this problem was much more intractable than what she had imagined.
Stella pondered for a while and then asked, âDo... Do you know something about the condition?â
Daniel replied, âI heard this afternoon that Clarence deployed all his men in these two days and searched the whole City N. Iâve never seen this before. As for the details, Iâm also not clear about them. But I feel itâs something about the Conrad Groupâs interior affairs.â
âCould it be that heâs looking for Lyndon?â
âItâs not likely because weâre mainly responsible for looking for Lyndon. Even when he was looking for Phoebe back then, he didnât use so many forces like this.â
Hearing their discussion, Sherry asked Stella in a low voice, âCould it be that he cheats you and raises the other woman outside?â
Daniel twitched his mouth, âThis is more impossible. But...â
Daniel seemed to think of something and suddenly paused. He knitted his brows, his expression getting more serious.
Stella asked, âWhat do you know?â
Danielâs expression returned to normal after a short while. He replied with a smile, âNothing. Itâs just that I suddenly thought of something. Itâs not important.â
Daniel took a glance at the clock, âThen letâs go.â
After walking out of the hot pot restaurant, Stella expressed farewell to Sherry and got into a car that was parked by the roadside.
Sherry withdrew her gaze and asked Daniel, âYou know what Clarence is doing, right?â
Daniel smiled awkwardly, âHow can I know about his affairs?â
âYour reaction just now was abnormal. You must know something.â
Daniel was lost for words. Several seconds later, he replied, âDonât think too much. I know nothing, seriously.â
He received a piece of news that Stellaâs child was probably alive and asked his men to investigate it several times, yet they found no clue.
Daniel also tried to find some clues from Clarence, but Clarence didnât give him any chance.
It was safe to say only Stella and that baby deserved Clarence to use all his forces just to find them.
But it was just his guess.
Moreover, based on Stellaâs reaction, he guessed that she knew nothing of it. Therefore, he couldnât tell her about this secret under such a circumstance.
Originally this was Sherryâs trick. Seeing that she couldnât get any information from Daniel, she pouted, âWell.â
...
On the other side...
Sitting in her car, Stella dialed Nathan.
But it was Clarence to answer the call.
Stella paused when she recognized his voice and asked, âDidnât you say you will come to have hot pot together. Where are you now?â
Clarence replied in a flat down, âThere was suddenly an emergency in the company, so I came back.â
Stella asked after a short while of silence, âThen why was your phone off?â
âIt was out of power. I prepared to call you just now.â
âWill you come back tonight?â
âNope. I have to deal with many things. Go to bed early.â
Stella replied with a simple answer and added, âGo on with your business, goodbye.â
Clarence replied, âOkay. Be careful when driving.â
After ending the call, Stella stared at the screen, pondered for a while and then started the car.
Stella went to the restaurant that Clarence usually visited, ordered some light dishes as takeout food and then went to the Conrad Group.
The moment she got out of the lift, she bumped into Nathan.
Nathan was stunned as he didnât expect to see her. He didnât dare to look into her eyes, âMs. Radomil.â
Noticing that Nathan didnât dare to look at her, Stella asked, âDo you feel uncomfortable?â
Nathan laughed awkwardly, âA... A little bit, probably. Maybe itâs because I often worked overtime recently.â
Stella thought of his salary and began to feel distressed for herself. âWhereâs Clarence?â asked Stella.
âMr. Conrad is...â
âIs he at a meeting?â
âNo...Nope.â
Stella recalled that Nathan just walked out of the CEOâs office and said, âI see. Go on with your business.â
Nathan stopped her, âMs. Radomil.â
Stella turned around and asked, âWhatâs the matter?â
Nathan replied, âMr. Conrad is having a rest now. Shall you come tomorrow?â
âNot a big deal. I will leave after giving him these things and I wonât bother him.â
Looking at Stellaâs back, Nathan heaved a long sigh. Even he would feel guilty in the face of Stella, not to mention Mr. Conrad.
Stella gently pushed open the door of the office and popped out her head from behind the door.
Clarence was really sleeping on the sofa.
If her guess was right, Clarence hadnât had a rest since last night.
He mustnât have anything.
He was always like this when he was busy.
Stella walked towards him slowly and gently, put the paper bags on the tea table and picked up Clarenceâs jacket from aside.
She leaned forward, covered his body with the jacket and then fixed her eyes on him with the same posture.
There were dark circles beneath his eyes.
She should boil some nutritious soup tonight and take it to the office to him tomorrow morning.
Stella stood up and prepared to leave, but her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
The manâs voice slowly sounded, yet he still didnât open his eyes. âHow comes youâre here?â asked Clarence.
Stella replied, âI drove past here. Have you had the meal?â
âNot yet.â
âYou havenât had lunch, or simply dinner?â Stella paused and then added, âOr you havenât had breakfast either?â
Clarence curled his lips into a smile when he heard the question. He opened his eyes and glanced at her, âOh, seems like you care about me a lot.â
Stella ignored him and withdrew her hand from his grip. She took out the dishes from the paper bags one by one and said, âEat them. Even if youâre not exhausted from your work, you will be starved first.â
Clarence reached out to wrap her waist with both hands and pulled her into his arms, âFeed me.â
Stella was rendered speechless.

âYou said you donât want to move, but you didnât hesitate when taking advantage of me.â
Although Stella was complaining about it, she still picked up the folk and sent a piece of food to his mouth.
But Clarence didnât eat too much and claimed to be full a while later.
Stella sighed in her heart when looking at the leftover. He only finished half of them. Oh, never mind, itâs better than not having anything.
Clarence said, âItâs late now. I will send you back.â
âDonât bother.â Stella replied while cleaning the table, âI can go back myself. Go on with your business.â
Clarence fixed his eyes on her back. After a short while of silence, he asked, âCan you live in the Starry Lake Mansion in the future?â
âIâve read the news. The apartment was seriously burnt. Anyway, the decoration in the Starry Lake Mansion has been finished. Of course, I can move into the mansion.â
