A Love That Shouldnât Be
Aiden had always been protective of his younger sister, Lilith. From the moment she was born, he had felt an unshakable bond with herâone that went beyond mere sibling affection. It was something deeper, something darker, something he could never admit to anyone.
They had grown up together in an isolated mansion on the outskirts of town, their wealthy parents always too busy to pay attention to them. Left alone in the grand, empty halls, they had only each other for company. Their bond became everything.
As children, it had been innocentâholding hands in the dark, sharing whispered secrets at night. But as they grew older, something unspoken lingered between them. Something neither of them dared to name.
Until the night everything changed.
The Breaking Point
Lilith was sixteen nowâbeautiful, fragile, and completely unaware of the way Aiden looked at her when she wasnât watching. He was twenty, already a man, and he knew his thoughts were wrong. Knew that the way his heart pounded when she smiled at him wasnât the way a brother should feel.
But knowing it was wrong didnât make it stop.
One stormy night, when lightning crackled across the sky, Lilith crept into his room.
"I had a nightmare," she whispered, standing in the doorway, her long white nightgown making her look ghostly in the dim light.
Aiden swallowed hard. "You shouldnât be here."
"Please," she murmured, her voice trembling. "Just for tonight."
He hesitatedâhe should have sent her away. But when she crawled into his bed and curled up against him, he knew he was already lost.
Her body was warm against his, her scent intoxicating. He could feel every breath she took, her delicate fingers gripping his shirt as if she never wanted to let go.
"Aiden," she whispered. "Do you love me?"
More than I should.
"Of course," he said instead, his voice barely steady.
"More than anyone else?"
His heart pounded. "Yes."
"Then⦠youâll never leave me, right?"
"Never."
She smiled sleepily and nestled closer. "Good," she sighed. "Because I donât want anyone else. Just you."
Aiden clenched his jaw, his entire body tense. She didnât understand what she was saying. Didnât realize the kind of fire she was playing with.
But he did.
And it was already too late to stop.
Crossing the Line
Days turned into weeks, and the tension between them grew unbearable. Every accidental touch burned, every stolen glance lingered too long. They avoided talking about it, but the silence between them was thick with things unsaid.
Then, one evening, everything unraveled.
Their parents had thrown a grand party in the mansion, filling the house with strangers. Lilith, dressed in an elegant black gown, had been the center of attentionâtoo many eyes on her, too many men trying to speak to her.
Aiden hated it.
When he found her laughing with some rich heir, his blood boiled. Before he could stop himself, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her away, ignoring her surprised gasp.
"Aiden, what are youâ"
The moment they were alone, he slammed the door behind them.
"Donât do that," he growled.
"Do what?" she challenged, her eyes flashing.
"Let them look at you like that."
She tilted her head. "Why does it matter?"
"Because youâre mine."
Silence.
Lilithâs lips parted in shock. Aiden realized what he had just said, but he didnât take it back. He couldnât.
Slowly, she stepped closer. Her small hands reached for him hesitantly, and when her fingers brushed against his chest, he shuddered.
"Yours?" she repeated softly.
His restraint snapped.
Before he could think, before he could stop himself, he grabbed her face and kissed her.
It was a mistake. A sin. An unforgivable act.
But she didnât pull away.
Instead, she kissed him back.
A Love That Shouldnât Exist
They became reckless after that night. Sneaking into each otherâs rooms, sharing forbidden touches in the dark. Their love was a secret they couldnât afford to let slip, but the more they tried to hide it, the more dangerous it became.
"Aiden," she whispered one night, lying beneath him, her fingers tangled in his hair. "What if someone finds out?"
"They wonât," he swore. "Iâll protect you. Always."
But the world was not kind to love like theirs.
And secrets never stayed buried forever.
The Price of Sin
Their parents found out.
Their fatherâs rage was terrifying, their motherâs disgust unbearable. Lilith was dragged away, locked in her room like a prisoner, while Aiden was beaten and thrown out of the house.
"You are dead to us," his father spat.
But Aiden didnât care about their anger. He didnât care about the pain.
All he cared about was Lilith.
And he would come back for her.
No matter the cost.
Together, No Matter What
Weeks passed before Aiden found a way back into the mansion. The night was cold when he climbed up to Lilithâs balcony, his hands shaking as he knocked on her window.
She was there in an instant, her face pale with relief.
"You came," she whispered, tears shining in her eyes.
"I told you Iâd never leave you."
She threw herself into his arms, and in that moment, Aiden knewâthere was no turning back.
They couldnât be apart.
They wouldnât be apart.
No matter what they had to do.
Even if it meant burning the world down just to be together.
A Love That Never Dies
By the time their parents realized they were gone, it was too late.
The mansion stood empty, abandoned. No one knew where the siblings had disappeared toâonly that they had vanished without a trace.
Some said they ran away.
Some whispered of a murder.
Some believed they had perished together, unable to exist without each other.
But the truth?
They were out there, somewhere.
Bound by blood.
Bound by love.
Bound by a sin that neither of them regretted.
Because in the end, nothing else mattered.
Not morality.
Not judgment.
Not even the world itself.
All that mattered was each other.
Forever.
