"He set you free?" Sienna gasped as she handed me another tray.
"He stormed out and left the room. Tristiaan followed suit."
"How could you not know about Tristiaan being favoured by Vinchenzo?"
I nodded, "I didn't connect the dots at all."
"Maybe he likes you?" Sienna suggested and I choked on my spit.
"Are you out of your mind?" I hissed.
Sienna shook her head, "No. Your other FBI agent friend is either floating around in the river or is in a barrel of cement."
I gasped, "You are talking about Mason Loria right?" I asked her.
She nodded, "I think that is his name. I did not bother questioning Dantè too much."
I shuddered at the mention of the beta's name, "I can't stand that man!"
She nodded, "He will eventually grow on you. You'll see when you've spent enough time here."
"Dantè just gives me the creeps. He is too stoic and rude." I said flippantly.
"Well would you look at that, Vinchenzo's table is requesting your presence," She said after looking at her computer screen.
"More drinks?" I asked her with a grimace painting my lips.
She nodded, "Of course. What else could Vinchenzo want besides some drinks."
"Who knows," I muttered lowly but Sienna heard me anyways.
"Go!" She ushered me towards his table laughing.
I sighed and walked to his table being careful not to drop drinks on anyone. I made sure not to crowd the table with my tray and served all the men before I was dismissed and retreated back to the kitchen to see if any other tables required any assistance.
"That wasn't so bad now was it?" Sienna grinned as she tapped away on the tablet in her hand, most likely ordering more drinks.
"He didn't say anything besides telling me I'm dismissed," I said.
She nodded, "Vinchenzo isn't a man of many words."
"He seems to be wordy around me."
"Which is why I think he is attracted to you." Sienna grinned as she nudged me suggestively, "He does interact differently around you." She then added.
I rolled my eyes, "Yes attracted to killing me and burying me a million feet underground."
"If he wanted to do that, he would've already done so. The fact that you are here alive and breathing means a lot to all of us."
"Is that why people are so scared of me?"
"People don't want to mess with anything to do with Vinchenzo."
"Why?"
"He's ruthless, Arianna. The fact that he told no one of your betrayal also comes to show us that you may be good for him."
"I saw that side of him. Wait!" I gasped, "You're meaning to tell me no one knows I'm an FBI agent?"
Sienna nodded, "That's a fact. We all think that you lied about your name. It's happened more than once but normally all those girls get killed in front of girls that Vinchenzo thinks are going to betray him. A warning message of sorts."
I shuddered, "That's horrible to make people watch other people getting killed. Especially, if they knew the person getting killed."
Sienna sighed, "People normally know better than to cross Vinchenzo. He's quite a show when he's angry." She shuddered and looked at her palm that had a scar.
"Does he go on killing sprees?" I asked her as I watched her study her hand.
She shook her head, "He hurts all people he doesn't find worthy," She said.
"How does he judge this? Are you afraid of him?"
"Of course I'm scared of him Arianna!" Sienna said, "I'm loyal to him and will never betray him but he's terrifying when he's in a bad mood."
I touched the scar on my cheek, "I know."
"I'm going to say he carved your face? He enjoys creating artworks on the skin of others." She grimaced.
I nodded, "He even has meanings behind them."
She sighed, "I owe him a lot."
"I guess."
I spent the rest of my evening serving drinks, dressed in tight leather. I was heading to my bedroom when a hand grabbed me tightly around my wrist, I gasped and looked up. It was Vinchenzo with dark, stormy eyes.
"You are no longer allowed to rest with the rest of my staff," He informed me, his voice deep and grave.
I pulled my arm out of his hold and glared at him.
"Why is that?" I asked him, folding my arms beneath my chest.
"Because -" He began, "I don't have to explain myself to you Red," He smirked as he touched my red hair.
"Actually you do," I informed him, my hands reached up and slapped his heavy hand off my red hair that he was messing with.
He clenched his jaw, "I'm the leader, not you. I make the rules you follow. You do not dispute me. Do you need me to dumb it down further for you? I knew females weren't too big in the brain department but you-" He gave me a once over and scoffed, "You're a disgrace to your gender and everything those bratty feminists are fighting for. Now you will accompany me willingly or I will have my capo drag you and they will not be gentle."
"Aww," I cooed and he raised his eyebrow, "Just because your family names you the 'Mistake' does not mean you release your pent up anger on me and just for your information those 'bratty feminists' are fighting for what we call equality. Equality in everything because you pig-headed men think you can control us. That's where you and your dumb gender are wrong, us females are strong enough and don't need you, men, to survive!" I hissed and began to breathe heavily.
Vinchenzo's eyes darkened, "Who told you my family calls me the mistake?" He said.
Tremors of fear ran through my body under his harsh scrutinizing gaze, "I just assumed because of the way you react and behave. They probably didn't want you that's why they didn't raise you to be a gentleman." I said overcoming my fear.
Vinchenzo scoffed, "My father prayed to the Gods above to have me."
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night."
"I am the firstborn Vitali and I have three brothers," He informed me before he grabbed my wrist, "Now you come willingly or I will drag you on the dirt." He sneered as his minty breath fanned over my face.
"I'll come willingly! Damn it!" I hissed as I punched him in his rock hard chest, "Why are you so damn controlling!"
"Why are you so damn retarded?" He threw back.
"Why are you so egotistical?"
"Why do you have such a big mouth?"
"So that I can do the right thing, voice my opinion and defend those feminists that you called bratty!" I said and followed him down the narrow corridor.
"Vinchenzo!" I called as he had ignored my previous statement.
"It's Vitali to you Red." He snarled but remained silent.
"Vitali this, Vitali that..." I rolled my eyes as I muttered those words under my breath.
"Your mutterings will be put to an end, Red." He whispered into my ear as goosebumps spread wildly over my skin.
"My name is Arianna," I told him.
"I am aware." He snarled, "Now go to bed."
"Don't tell me what to do!" I yell at him and place my hands on my hips in defiance.
"You're forgetting who I am, Red. That's not good. I'm not your nice little friend Mason Loria, nor am I someone that you can push and hit freely. I'm ruthless and I have no qualms ending your life right now-" He said and pulled out a shiny pistol from the back of his pants, "That is if you want to go and leave this world."
I swallowed. My breathing became erratic. My heart sped up. My eyes kept track of every motion. Sweat began to roll down my forehead. My palms were shaking.
Vinchenzo watched all of this, a snide smirk gracing his face as he flipped the gun in his hand. He looked at me, as if taunting me with his eyes, and pulled the safety off. In mere seconds, he was in personal space the gun between my two eyes. I shivered from the excessive fear I was feeling.
Snap out of it! I thought to myself, you're a trained agent Ari! I said trying to assure myself and my heart that was about to pound its way out of my chest.
"So is your answer a yes or a no? I assume you've been allocated enough time to... think." He said as he pressed the gun tighter.
Acting on impulse, I lifted my hand and locked it on his wrist before I twisted it. Vinchenzo seemed surprised but blocked when I threw a punch aiming towards his gut. He then seized both my arms and held them firmly as I looked into my eyes as though he was studying my soul.
I tried to thrash and try to loosen the hold he hand on my wrists but it was all to no avail. It was like he had super strength, his grip was like iron, like really tight handcuffs. The only difference is, had it been handcuffed I would have easily got out of them.
I would have dislocated my thumbs and pulled my hands out before popping them back into place. I had practised this several times during my FBI training.
I wouldn't be able to dislocate my thumbs to get out of his hold. His grip was tight, his eyes were filled with malicious intent as he continued to tighten his grip. I was certain that it would bruise my wrist.
"I remain waiting for your response." He informs me, relaxing slightly his grip.
I shake my head as tears threaten to fall. I sigh with relief when he tucks the gun into his back pocket and walks out of the room. I was certain I heard a click. That jerk locked me in here! I thought to myself as I inspected the door for a lock. On the inside, there wasn't anything. The door clearly could only be locked and unlocked from the outside.
I grabbed the golden knob and tried to tug at the door but all my efforts were to no avail. I slid down against the wall and put my head between my knees, tears falling down my face.
I fell asleep that night, in that exact uncomfortable position.
