Chapter 19: Chapter 18 - Hospital Room

Reds' Mafia Leader ✔Words: 6997

"You're supposed to be sedated." Vinchenzo said as his personal doctor took Tristiaan away.

"I recover easily." I smirked.

"You're annoying." He commented.

"You are rude." I shrugged as I pushed the gun into the waistband of my pants.

"I didn't claim to be otherwise." He shrugged as he pulled out a cigar.

I rolled my eyes as I sat down on the road behind the truck. The tar was hotter than I expected and so I winced a little as I felt the heat through my tights.

"Let's get heading to the hall, Vinny." Francesca said as she threw her unfinished cigarette on the floor and stomped on it.

"It's early." He frowned as he looked at the golden watch that resided on his wrist.

"Papà sarà pazzo se siamo in ritardo. Non voglio affrontare la sua ira." Francesca answered.

[Dad will be mad if we are late. I don't want to deal with his wrath.]

"Get in the truck, Red." Vinchenzo said.

"No." I said defiantly.

"You either get in willingly or I will have James restrain you while I sedate you." He sneered.

"Fine." I said and stomped my way back to the back of the truck.

"Return the guns too." Vinchenzo said before he shut and latched the doors allowing the darkness to envelope me.

I sighed as I heard the trucks engine rattle to life before it began moving once again.

A few minutes - the ride actually felt like hours - the truck came to a stop and the latch was undone allowing me to get out.

"Don wants you changed into these clothes and present backstage in twenty minutes." James said as he shoved a black trash bag into my hands.

"Do I have a choice?" I asked as I looked around scanning the areas for key areas to escape.

"No." Vinchenzo answered from behind me, "There is no choice. You're now part of the strongest mafia family. You should be happy and rejoicing!" He said.

"Well I'm not." I spat.

"It was your choice to infiltrate my house and think we were stupid enough to believe your boyfriend story." Vinchenzo said rolling his eyes.

"I want to eliminate disgusting men like you!" I hissed.

"Too late for that, Red!" He grinned with an evil chuckle.

"I hate you!" I screamed as I stormed towards the bathroom.

"Those words sing to my soul. Why are you so sweet?" He said sarcastically.

Pushing the wooden door open I tossed the trash bag onto the basin and pulled out the contents. It was a black dress with some black heels. Looking at my reflection in the mirror I sighed. My red hair was frizzy and a mess, my face had a few stains. My skin also was very shiny from the sweat.

I splashed some cold water on my face and tried to comb my hair with my fingers as best as I possibly could. I pulled the dress on and realized that it was actually very stunning.

The dress was made out of soft silk. It was a floorlength gown. It was extremely tight by the bodice and flared out from my waist in many waves down to the floor. The door then opened with a bang and in walked Vinchenzo.

"What do you want?" I asked viciously.

"Calm down, Red. Your time has come to vow your service to the Vitali family... until death do us apart." He grinned.

"You're sick." I hissed as I followed him out of the bathroom.

"I don't care to hear your opinion. You should know that you are now under my rule, whatever I say goes. I'm not always lenient." He said.

I sighed rolling my eyes.

"You look lovely," Francesca said.

"Thanks." I said looking away from her.

Following Vinchenzo's large strides, I found myself at the back of a huge hall. There were a ton of chairs and a massive stage at the end of the passage way.

"This is the Vitali hall. Everyone comes here to vow omèrta!" Francesca explained, "We're glad you're going to join our family."

"Thank you." I said dryly.

"Ignore her Francesca, she's my little firecracker." Vinchenzo said.

"How sweet." Francesca said rolling her eyes as she tapped the gun she had strapped onto her leg through her elegant floor length dress.

"Don't try anything, Red." He snarled as he walked away, down the red carpet that was set out and onto the stage.

Vinchenzo tapped the microphone and cleared his throat before he began to speak in Italian. I couldn't understand a single thing he was saying but judging from Francesca's facial expressions it was boring. Well boring to her at least.

I scanned the room looking for a place to make a dash for and frowned when I found plenty of men standing guards at all the visible exits.

I felt trapped and as though there was no oxygen left for me to breathe. Everywhere I looked I felt eyes trained on me. I fiddled with my fingers awaiting for instruction from a bored Francesca who was now scrolling through her phone.

"And so tonight we welcome Arianna Dawson onto stage to say her vow." Vinchenzo said suddenly switching to English.

He looked at me straight in the eye, "Red, will you make your way onto the stage so the ceremony can begin?" He said.

I sighed and clutched at my dress. I began walking slowly towards the stage. When I made it to the steps, Vinchenzo surprisingly came down and helped me up.

"Repeat after me." He commanded while I nodded choosing to remain mute.

"I, say your name and surname." Vinchenzo said.

"I Arianna Dawson." I said.

"Dedicate my life to the Vitali family and will serve it for eternity." He grinned as he twisted the golden ring on his right hand.

"Dedicate my life to the Vitali family and will serve it for... eternity." I said sighing.

"I here and now vow to never betray it, to never give away information, to obey all its laws. I am now vowing my complete loyalty and honesty to the family." He said as he went towards the back of the stage.

I repeated his words while I remained on my knees. Vinchenzo then brought over a small golden bucket and a knife that shined under the lights. I looked at him weirdly as he created a cut in his right palm.

"Give me your right hand, Red." He murmured to me.

I shook my head, "No."

"Give it to me." He ordered.

I shook as I gave him my right hand and mercilessly, he slid the tip of the knife against it making me grit my teeth in pain. I didn't allow a single noise to escape from my lips as I wouldn't ever want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he hurt me.

He twisted my palm so that both of our blood was know dripping into the bucket. I looked away not wanting to see the gruesome sight.

Vinchenzo then signalled a burly man onto stage. He placed some antiseptic onto the wound, my lip quivering, and then wrapped it with a white bandage. Vinchenzo refused the treatment.

"Now," He said turning to me with a wicked glint in his green eyes, "Drink the mixture!" He commanded.
