Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Lindsay the Leech

“PARKER!” I yelled angrily at the top of my lungs as I stepped into my house. Since Parker dropped me off to school, one would only expect he would pick me up right? But no! He didn't. But that’s not why I’m really mad. Why I’m really mad is that, while I was walking home in the blazing heat a car, not just any car, PARKER’S CAR drove past me, running over a mud puddle, therefore covering me in mud. And guess who was driving the car. LINDSAY!

“I swear when I get my hands on that girl-” I grumble taking off my muddy shoes but I was interrupted by a nasally voice.

“Talking about me?” she said and I looked up to see that she had a smirk on her face with blazing green eyes. Man, just how much I wanted to smack that smirk of her face.

“Jeez, what happened to you?” a new voice intervened

“Why don't you ask your girlfriend” I snapped and picked up my mud covered book bag. Lindsay flipped her long blonde hair and turned to face Parker.

“What? I didn't do anything!” she said innocently and Parker frowned

“Avery?” he questioned and I rolled my eyes

“I’m leaving” I announced because I couldn't stand to see Parker fall for her evil tricks. I pulled off all my mud covered clothes and took a long, warm, and nice bath. After that I started my math homework. Most of the time we didn't get any homework because all of our teachers were werewolfs and knew we had better things to do with our lives. All my teachers were werewolves, except for of course Mr. Pusey. He always gave fucking homework and it was really annoying at times.

3 hours filled with math problems were finally over and I creeped downstairs. Parker was sitting on the couch, eating popcorn and watching a movie.

“Is the leech gone?” I question and stole some popcorn from him

“Leech?” he said confused and then glared at me when he saw I took some of his popcorn

“Yeah, Lindsay the leech. And sharing is caring!” I explained and then said the second sentence when he swatted my hand away from the popcorn bowl.

“Why would you call her that?” he asked curiously

“Cause she is one” I deadpanned and he chuckled

“Yeah” he said and I furrowed my eyebrows

“Yeah, what?” I said confuzzled

“Yeah, she’s gone” he replied and turned his attention back to the TV.

“Good” I said and took some more popcorn while he laughed

“What the hell are you singing?” I heard Parker yell from behind my bathroom door

“A song” I yelled back and I heard him laugh while walking away

I stepped in the shower and rinsed myself in my usual sweet pea soap. Ya know what? I’m changing the name of this thing. Now let’s try that again. I stepped in the shower and rinsed myself in my usual fresh flower soap. Yeah, that’s better. I jump out of the shower and wrap myself in my towel. After drying myself I put on a pair of tartan shorts, a white tank top and a grey sweater. I ran a comb through my hair and walked downstairs.

“Hey mom, what are you making today?” I asked her from behind and she glanced over her shoulder.

“Pancakes” she stated simply

“YAY!” I yelled and jumped up. I loved my mom’s pancakes. I’m so happy I woke up early today.

“Eat that bowl of grapefruit on the table first” she said sternly and I looked at the table and grimaced at the sight of grapefruit. I hated grapefruit. I tasted bitter, nasty and overall disgusting. Gross.

“But mom” I whined and she looked at me and narrowed her eyes

“Eat that grapefruit Missy!” she said

“Anything but that. I’ll eat the oatmeal again” I suggested

“NO” she deadpanned and I groaned

“Ok” I said sadly and walked over to the table. My dad was there already and he had a bowl of grapefruit in front of him too. My dad hated grapefruit also, so he feels my pain. Dad was just staring down the grapefruit probably hoping it would disappear. If only. My dad looked up and frowned at me.

“I know” I whispered and looked down at my bowl

“For the pancakes” I said firmly picked up a piece and put it in my mouth.

“Ew” I said to myself and I wanted to throw up.

“Here goes nothing” I heard my dad say and he lifted the bowl and put everything in his mouth.

“Oh my god” I gaped and looked at my dad’s pained face as he chewed

“Maybe I’ll try that too” I said determined and shoved all the grapefruit into my mouth. Let’s just say I didn't get to the pancakes…

Five minutes of vomiting later, I was walking to school. The warm air surrounded me as I walked.

“Hey! Wait up!” I heard someone yelled. Were they talking to me? I stopped walked and in the distance I heard footsteps coming my way. Thank god for werewolf hearing. Soon the person caught up to me and it was Nathan.

“Hey, Nathan” I greeted

“Hey” he wheezed out of breath

“My sister saw you and told me to stop you” he explained finally regaining his breath

“Oh! Where is Scarlett?” I asked

“She’s coming” he said and soon enough she was waltzing down to us.

“Hey Avery!” she said and hugged me

“Hey” I grinned and all three of us started walking the route to the school.

“Sooo, is your friend Hunter dating anyone?” Scarlett asked trying to sound casual and I smiled secretly

“Why?” I asked nonchalantly

“No reason” she avoids

“Well he’s not” I told her and her face lit up and Nathan scoffed

“Obsessed much” he said

“Shut up A-hole” she glared at him even though her cheeks were tinted red

“I bet you’d love to see Hunter’s a-hole” he told her suggestively

“Your disgusting” she said as her face became crimson.

“I only speak the truth” he said and shrugged while I laughed so hard I was clutching my stomach

“You guys are so funny” I said and wiping away my tears

“We know” they said simultaneously and look at each other making me giggle

Soon we arrived at school and I walked over to my locker. Scarlett and Nathan’s lockers were coincidentally next to and across from mine so we walked together.

“Hey Av, Scar, and Nate” Meghan said and I raised an eyebrow

“Nicknames already?” I nodded impressed

“Yep, ya like?” she said and I nodded, so did Scar and Nate

“Hey guys!” Maddison said when she came

“Hey” I said and so did Nate, Scar and Meghan. Finally, Hunter came. Wow he was early, for once! Probably had to to do with a special someone.

“Wow early for once!” Meghan said voicing my thoughts out loud. Hunter shrugged it off and immediately looked at Scar.

“Hi” he said looking at her

“We exist too ya know” Nathan said with a smirk

“Yeah we’re right here” Maddison gestured around

“Sorry. Hey guys” he said sheepishly and Scar blushed

“That’s better” I chuckled

“Oh look it’s the retard crew” someone said from behind us. Guess who it was? Lindsay.

“Oh look it’s Lindsay the leech bitch and her leech minions” I sneered at her and she gasped dramatically

“What did you call me?” she challenged

“You heard me” I said holding her icy glare

“I wouldn't go there if I were you. I could kick your latent ass any day” she threatened.

I wasn't latent but I had to tell people that because I wasn't allowed to transform, revealing my white wolf. They couldn't know that I could in fact transform and that I just don't do it, because I mean who wouldn't want to transform! They would get suspicious. Everyone thinks I ‘m a latent except for my mom and dad, Parker, Hunter, Meghan and Maddison because they all  know that I’m a white wolf. My mom said I can tell whoever I trust and obviously I trusted Megan, Maddison and Hunter and I told them 2 years ago.

“I might be latent but I could still beat you any day” I whispered sharply in her face and walked away leaving her and her leech minions in the middle of the hallway.

“Wow! That was so bad ass!” Scar whispered in shock

“What did she mean when she said latent?” she asked getting more serious

“Yeah, what did she mean by that?” Nathan probed

“I really don't know, she’s messed up in the head” I chuckled nervously

“Yep definitely messed up” Maddison said

“Yeah totally” Meghan continued

“Uh huh” Hunter finished and we all smiled nervously at Scar and Nate

“Ok” Nate shrugged and continued walking and Scar looked at us suspiciously which made me gulp but then she grinned and follow Nate.

“Phew” I said

“Yeah that was close” Meghan said

“Yeah” Maddison agreed

“Too close” Hunter said in a movie type voice

“No. Just no” I said laughing and frowned. Oh Hunter!

I was finally home from a long day at school, and I threw my book bag off my shoulder and walked to the couch. I layed down and closed my eyes. Ahhhh, peace at last.

“AVERY COME TO THE KITCHEN NOW PLEASE!” I heard mom yell and I sat up and groaned. Ugh! Why?

“AVERY!” she yelled

“I’m coming, I’m coming” I said and made my way to the kitchen

“Yeah?” I questioned rubbing my eyes

“You have to transform tonight” she said and my eyes widened

“Really?!” I asked excitedly to confirm

“Yes” she sighed and I squealed

“YAY!” I yelled barely containing my excitement and she laughed at me. My parents had a calendar and they track the times that I have transformed. I have to transform once in a while to keep my wolf intact and my parents usually have a dated time when to do so. We all go out into the forest and someone brings clothes for me. Then I transform, go for a small run and everything goes back to normal.

This will be my first time transforming in 2 years and  am so excited! Mostly because this is a chance to find my mate. After I transform I will have my scent freshly on me, but usually I spray a lot of perfume to cover it up until it goes away.

However since I am 16 now my mate will still  be able to smell my scent and I’ll be able to smell his. The other times I transformed, this wasn't able to happen but now that I’m 16 it’s possible. I was a early transformer, I transformed when I was only 6 years old. Parker transformed when he was 8. Now we were both 16 and I might find my mate before he does. Well, it’s not for sure...but I have this jumpy feeling in side of me telling me that it is in fact true. I cant wait for tonight!
