- Avery/ Chloe's POV -
"Hi, excuse me. Have you seen Ryan?" I ask yet another stranger of the pack
"No. I'm sorry." the person replied. Does this seem like déjà vu? I've asked almost every single person here and they all replied with the same answer. Where the hell is this guy?!
Suddenly a door slammed causing everyone to turn to the door. In walked Ryan, seeming like he was in some sort of a daze. But then he quickly snapped out of it and stared at everyone.
"What are you all looking at?" He yelled
"Obviously you! You've been missing for what? Six hours?!" I answered for everyone else who seemed to be stuck in silence.
"My life is none of your business. Can't you see I'm absolutely fine?" He said and I rolled my eyes
"You're just acting like an asshole." I scoffed and he glared
"Just shut up and leave me alone" he ordered and stormed past everyone to get to the stairs
"Well. That was a nice conversation" I muttered to myself and walked past everyone to get to my group of friends.
"What do you think happened?" Parker asked me and I raised an eyebrow
"What do you mean?" I asked confused
"Well....from being a guy, I know that something must've happened to get him on edge in order for him to go off on you like that" Parker explained to Nate, Jenna, Meg, Madds, Hunter and Scarlett. We had all gathered here an hour ago because they were all helping me look for Ryan.
"It's true" Nate said and Hunter nodded.
"How do we find out what happened?" Meg asked and I shrugged my shoulders
"Someone could always talk to him, ya know" Scarlett suggested and Jenna immediately started shaking her head
"What?" Madds asked Jenna
"That's not such a good idea. Especially when he's mad. He'll probably explode" Jenna said with wide eyes
"Ok....then" Madds chuckled
"Well, he doesn't want us to worry about his life so let's make him happy....for now at least. Come on, I'm sure there is something to do around here" Parker said and started to put his arm on my shoulders but I slapped it away and glared.
"What?" Parker asked, acting innocent.
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing" I forced a smiled, still feeling the tingles from where his arm had touched.
"Oh! I know! Didn't you say that you need to speak to Alex. The werewolf of knowledge?" Hunter exclaimed and I suddenly remembered one of the reasons I even came here.
"Oh yeah! Doesn't he belong to this pack?" Madds said
"Does he Jenna?" Meg asked Jenna and Jenna had a thoughtful face on.
"I believe so. But, he is very isolated. He keeps to himself most of the time. I think I only see him like once a year. If I'm lucky" Jenna told us and I frowned. Does that mean he won't want to see us?
"Do you know where he lives?" Nate asked Jenna and she smiled widely at him. Ah, effects of the mate bond.
"Stop staring at each other like fools and answer his question" Parker demanded but then added
"Please"
"Oh. Right sorry." Jenna mumbled embarrassed
"I can show you where he lives. If you want" Jenna continued and I nodded
"Yes please." I said and Jenna nodded. Then we all stared at her and she was looking off into the distance. It was completely silent.
"Oh! Now?" Jenna said when her attention was drawn back to us
"Uh. Yeah" Hunter snickered and I laughed
"Ok. Come on" Jenna said and began walking out the front door.
"Wait! Where is your car?" Scarlett yelled at Jenna
"Car?" Jenna chuckled from behind a tree before shifting into a light brown wolf with warm brown eyes. She came out from behind the tree with her clothes in her mouth.
"AH!" Scarlett screamed causing Hunter run over to her because his protective mate mode was 'activated'.
"What's wrong babe?" Hunter asked hurriedly checking her for any cuts, bruises, etc.
"It's nothing. I just still get a little scared when you guys shift. You gotta give me a warning!" Scarlett said and Hunter sighed
"You scared me!" Hunter yelled and Scarlett gave him a guilty smile.
"Sorry" she said quickly and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Obviously he forgave her after that and put his arm around her shoulder. There was a small growl and we looked back at Jenna, who was still in her beautiful wolf form. She nodded her wolf head forward and Parker, Hunter, Meg, Madds all walked to the front and went behind tres. Nate was just staring at Jenna, astonished.
"Babe, dont scream this time" Hunter yelled to Scarlett and Scarlett gulped. Parker transformed first and came out from behind the tree holding his clothes in his mouth. I caught myself staring at his lustrous black fur. He turned around when he was on all fours and looked at me. I found myself staring into his wolf's beautiful brown eyes with gold specks in them, making them even more enchanting. Then I was suddenly brought back to the world when he turned away from me.
Now in front of me was Hunter's brown fur and yellow eyed wolf, Meg's golden fur and red eyed wolf, Madds light brown and hazel eyes wolf, Jenna's wolf and of course Parker's. They started to follow Jenna and I followed along too, with Scarlett and Nate. When it felt like hours later, we were here. Since I had werewolf abilities I wasn't even tired and when everyone shifted back behind the trees and put on their clothes they didn't look tired either. But ya know who was tired? Scarlett and Nate. They were furiously panting for breath and sweat was dripping from their faces. Gross, right?
"We're here" Jenna said to us pointing to some sort of cabin. We were running in the woods this whole time, so we must be pretty deep in now. Wow, this guy really does isolate himself.
"Hey, do you guys smell that?" Madds called out after sniffing the air. I took a deep breath along with everyone else. Nothing.
"I don't smell anything" Meg said and everyone agreed
"What the hell?! It smells like coffee and honey buns" Madds said frowning
"You're crazy" Jenna chuckled and walked up the stairs leading to the small cabin.
"I'm not crazy" Madds muttered to herself
"Knock" Parker said turning to me
"Why can't you?" I challenged
"Oh gee. I should knock because I'm the one who's a white wolf and I'm the one who wants to find out if I have powers." Parker rolled his eyes
"Whatever" I muttered and hesitantly knocked on the door.
We all waited anxiously for the next few seconds until we heard the door unlocking. The door opened and let's just say he wasn't at all what I was expecting. I was expecting a more mature looking guy with a button up shirt and dress pants or something but this was not that. The guy that came out of the cabin looked about our age with light brown hair, a muscular, lean build, and beautiful, mesmerizing greenish blue eyes. He was wearing a black T Shirt with jeans. Wow. I hadn't noticed I was staring at this guy's beautiful eyes until Parker growled and pulled me to him.
"Oh wow. Uh, I'm sorry. Are you Alex?" I said snapping out of my daze
"Yes and who are you?" he chuckled
"Uh my name is Avery, well it's also Chloe but that's another story. Can I asked you one quick question before I start talking?" I asked
"Uh sure?" He said more as a question
"Is that you real eye color? It's so pretty!" I exclaimed and he laughed while Parker's grip on my hand became a bit tighter.
"Yeah. It is. Thank you" he smiled
"Anyways, I wanted to ask you a few things but, I can't say it out here" I said and he nodded
"Alright. Come in" he said opening the door more and I stepped in with Parker right behind me. Then Jenna and Nate came in, after them Hunter and Scarlett came in too. Lastly, Meg came in but Madds was missing from the bunch.
"Where's Madds?" I asked from the couch I was sitting on. Parker was next to me.
"Outside. You should see this" Meg said from the door and I walked up to her, looking out the door.
"MINE" Alex growled, his beautiful eyes turning a dark color as he looked at Madds. Madds had wide eyes and parted lips as she stared back at him.
"Oh that makes sense" Madds mumbled but everyone could hear her because of werewolf hearing. Well everyone except Scarlett and Nate. Everyone was now crowded around the door to see what was going on.
"Mate." Alex said in a voice barely above a whisper. I guess he had calmed down now. He slowly approached Madds and when he reached her he rested his hand against her cheek to which she leaned to.
"Do you know how long I wanted my mate? Now, I've found her and she's as beautiful as I imagined her to be" he smiles showing off his perfectly straight teeth.
"Thank you" Madds said blushing
"Um, listen up love saps. We have things to do so can you guys come inside already?" Nate yelled out and Jenna hit him on his arm for disrupting their perfect moment.
"Sorry sweetie" Nate whispered in fear which made Jenna smile and laugh
"Alright, we're coming" Alex called out, him and Madds walking up the stairs together. Madds had the biggest smile I've ever seen on her face.
"Ok, make yourself at home." Alex said gesturing to the sofa and chairs as he plopped down on a chair. Everyone took a seat and I noticed how Alex and Madds kept looking at each other. Aw!
"So. What do you guys need?" Alex asked
"Well, ya see....I'm a white wolf.-" I started nervously and Alex stopped me
"You're a white wolf!" He yelled with wide eyes
"Why didn't you tell me?! White wolves fascinate me. They're my idols" Alex said looking excited
"Well....she's telling you now...." Parker said and Alex rolled his eyes.
"So what do you want to know?" He asked getting up and walking to a wall, where he then put his hands against it and slid it to the left so that it revealed a huge bookshelf. Um.....ok.
"Everything" I answered
