Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Momma's Boy Found His Mate

“AHHHHH!” I yelled as I fell off my bed and hit my head on my cold wooden floor.

“Sorry Honey!” I heard my mom say, but she didn't sound too sorry to me

“What was that for mom?” I asked rubbing my head as I stood up

“You're gonna be late for school!” she yelled and my eyes widened considerably. I've never been late before. Holy Macaroni!

“OH MY GOD! OK CAN YOU LEAVE MOM, SO I CAN CHANGE?!” I yelled in panic

“Listen here, I changed your diaper, potty trained you and a whole bunch of other things and you asking me to leave?!” My mom scolded and I groaned

“Mom” I whined

“Fine” my mom huffed and made her way out of my room. Finally!

I ran to the bathroom and stripped myself from my blue fluffy pajamas. I quickly stepped in the shower and lathered myself in my sweet pea scented soap. I don't really know how actual sweet peas smell like but I’m pretty sure this was not it. Peas smell disgusting! I mean how did they come up with this name, the soap smelled more like flowers if anything.

I stepped out of the shower and wrapped myself in my purple towel. After drying myself I pulled on a thin black shirt and blue jeans. I combed my light brown/honey brown hair, trying to get rid of the knots or until it look somewhat presentable.

I grabbed my book bag and rushed downstairs, meeting my mom, dad and Parker at the table.

“Sit honey, have some breakfast” My mom ordered

“I cant I have to go” I said reaching forward to grab a granola bar but she slapped my hand away.

“Well, Parker can drive you today so you don't have to walk” My mom suggested and I looked at Parker with a raised eyebrow.

“Why?” Parker whined and I rolled my eyes

“Because. She is your sister” mom snapped and I smirked at Parker

“Yeah Park, please?” I asked and showed him my puppy dog face which he could never resist

“Alright” he gritted out and I clapped my hands

“YAY! Now, how bout’ some bacon?” I asked my mom and she rolled her eyes at me

“Eat the oatmeal first” she said and placed a bowl of lumpy oatmeal in front of me.

My dad’s eyes widened at the sight of my mom’s wretched oatmeal and he quickly adjusted his newspaper so that it would cover his face.

“Ughhh!” I groaned and grimaced at the bowl while Parker laughed at my struggles

“You too Parker” my mom said and placed a bowl twice as big as mine in front of him to which I grinned at.

“Good luck” we both said and shook our hands from across the table. I ignore the shocks that happened when our hands touched because that was regular. It always happened, since we were kids. I’ve just learned to ignore it by now.

After 10 agonizing minutes of oatmeal eating and getting rewarded with bacon we were good to go.

“So, how’s your girlfriend?” I tried to make conversation with my brother to avoid the silence. My brother and his girlfriend has been dating for about 3 months. Her name was Lindsay and I didn't particularly like her. In fact, I despised her. Before she found out I was Parker’s sister she warned me to and I quote ‘stay away from him’ imagine her surprise when she came over to my house and saw me there. She almost blew a gasket! But luckily Parker told her that I was his sister. But no! She never apologized for making false accusations, she just glared at me even more.

So I guess we have a mutual relationship.

“She’s good” Parker said and shrugged

“Is she your mate?” I asked

“No” he sighed sadly and I frowned

“Sooo, you haven't found your mate yet?” I clarified

“No, I haven't” he frowned deeply

“Ok” I nodded and he glanced over at me

“What about you?” he asked and I shook my head

“You know that I don't transform, making it harder to find my mate or for my mate to find me” I said and looked out the window sadly. I was a dreaded white wolf. Being a white wolf was said to be a gift but I think of it as a torture since I can't transform because I had to keep it hidden.

“Yeah but it doesn't make it impossible” he said and I turned towards him. I studied his profile and I realized my brother isn't bad looking. His dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, muscular structure, pink lips...EW! I should not be thinking about my brother this way. Gross. I cross my arms over my chest and looked forward.

Parker and I are the same age and were supposedly fraternal twins. I had light brown/honey brown hair, blue eyes and pink lips. We look really different aside from a couple things. I also didn't look anything like my parents, so I guess it wasn't expected for Parker and I to be identical, fraternal twins can be different genders because they are two completely different eggs getting fertilized; but even two same gender fraternal twins do not look completely alike. Did I mention I love science?

We were total opposites. I loved school, while he dreaded it. I was shy, he was outgoing. I was generous, kind, bubbly and nice, but he was grumpy, sometimes cold, controlling and hot-headed.

“Do you think you’ll ever find yours?” Parker whispered I looked over at him in shock. His voice sounded so vulnerable and sincere, which is pretty new for him.

“I don't know” I said and thought about it silently. I really hoped I did though.

Soon enough we arrived at our high school. Rockwood High. As soon as the doors of the car were unlocked, I practically sprinted out of the car to my locker. This school consisted of my pack, the Silver Blood pack and there were a couple humans here and there.

“AVERY!” I heard my name and turned around. There stood Meghan and Maddison two of my best friends. Meghan with her Hazel eyes and dark brown hair. Maddison with her hazel eyes and light brown hair. They were sisters but Meghan was older than Maddison by one year.

“HEY!” I yelled back. I looked around them confused

“Where’s Hunty?” I asked confused

“Oh, he’s running late” Maddison said

“As usual” Meghan rolled her eyes

“Oh ok” I nodded. Hunter was the last person in our trio. The three of us have been best buds since 5 years ago.

“I-I’m h-here” someone panted out of breath and we all turned towards the voice. Even for a werewolf he was out of shape, I really don't know how he still managed to have muscles.

“Hunty! We were just talking about you!” Meghan exclaimed

“Yeah, what took you so long?” Maddison acquired and I looked at Hunter to hear his answer

“N-nothing much” he stuttered and blushed.

“OH! So it was something” I said with narrowed eyes

“Fine! Fine! I was just waiting at the bus stop when I smelt this wonderful scent and I was so out of it, I didn't even realize the bus came and left. Then, I couldn't exactly transform since there were humans around so I ran all the way to school in this!” he gestured down to his body and I just realized the thick ridiculously ugly sweater he was wearing in this blazing heat.

“Your mom” Meghan stated with a smirk

“Yes!” Hunter said frustrated. His mom liked to sew things, and make Hunter wear it even though they were ugly as shit.

“Poor you” Maddison said shaking her head with a grin

“Whatever” Hunter said and glared at Maddison.

“So do you think you smelt your mate?” I asked Hunter. None of us found out mate yet, so this was exciting news.

“I don't think. I know. She smelt like vanilla extract” he explained with a small smile

“AW! You’re so lucky. I want to find my mate!” Meghan whined and Hunter laughed

“Well, I didn't exactly find her. I smelt her.” Hunter stated

“Same, same” Meghan waved her hand and Hunter rolled his eyes

“So do you think you’ll find her?” Maddison asked him

“I hope” Hunter said with a dreamy smile and I couldn't help but be a little envious. The bell rung and we all said our goodbyes heading to class. Maddison, Hunter and I were in the same grade, which was 11th grade but Meghan was in 12th grade. Time for a day of learning!

Ah! This is the last class before lunch finally! But of course it had to be math. I didn't exactly favor math with Mr. Pusey. He was french...I think and he could barely pronounce words. Half the time I couldn't understand him. I softly sighed and made my way into the class. Parker and Lindsay also had this class and they were always annoying. I sat down in my usual seat and starting taking out my notebook.

“Hey, sis” I heard a familiar voice say and I looked up to see Parker sitting in the seat next to me, his usual seat.

“Hey, bro” I chuckled and all of a sudden Lindsay comes up to him from nowhere, grabs his face and starts making out with him. I turned away as fast as I can mentally gagging. Gross! I faced forward and pleaded for Mr. Pusey to come in the room.

I heard Lindsay moan, rather loudly I might say and Parker grunt. While looking forward, I grabbed onto the sides of my desk and held on tightly making my knuckles turn white.

“Ok class, sorry for my lateness.” Mr. Pusey finally came and I sighed in relief. I subtly glanced over to my right and saw that Lindsay had now sat in front of Parker. She looked over to me and smirked when I held her gaze. What is she trying to do? I frowned and raised my eyebrow. She just looked away after that. Is she trying to make me jealous? He’s my brother for gods sake! Why on earth would I get jealous? What does she fucking have against me?!

The rest of math was a bore, as usual and now I was head towards the cafeteria. I walked up to the table Hunter and Meghan was sitting at. I heard a series of footsteps behind me and I turned around to see Maddison coming towards me.

“Hi” she said

“Hey” I greeted and we both started walking towards the table.

“Sup guys” Hunty said trying to act cool. It didnt work out

“No. Just no.” Maddison said shaking her head which Hunter pouted to and Meghan and I laughed. I took notice that Hunter had disregarded his sweater. Good for him!

“I see your sweater is no longer with you” I said and stifled my laughter

“I’ll have to put it on before I go home, though” he said and frowned when he saw I was struggling to keep my laughter in.

“Momma’s boy” Meghan said under her breath and I giggled.

“So true” I agree and Maddison nodded. Thanks to his werewolf hearing Hunter heard Meghan’s comment.

“Just shut up!” he said and glared at all of us making us laugh even more

I started unpacking my lunch bag and saw that my mom packed me a nutella and peanut butter sandwich with juice.

I unwrapped the foil and took a bite of the tasty sandwich. Meghan had a BLT , Maddison had a cheese sandwich and Hunter had a turkey sandwich. Then suddenly, the doors of the lunch room opened up. A guy and a girl walked in together looking lost. The girl had dark brown hair and green eyes and the guy next to her had brown hair and green eyes. The whole cafeteria was staring at them and you wanna know why? They were humans, I smelt it right when they walked in. I felt someone at the table stand and slam their fists on the table. I spun in my seat surprised and saw that is was Hunter who had done it. He was standing staring at the human girl.

“MINE!” he yelled and now everyone in the cafeteria had their attention of him. Meghan, Maddison and I started at Hunter in shock. This was surprising, we hardly ever get human mates around here. Hunter started to walk away but I stood up countering him. I can't have him going over to the human girl, staking his claim. It could expose us. This needs to be handled properly, he can't scare her off...it would ruin him.

“Stop” I said and put my hand out to stop him from leaving

“Move out of the way. I need to go to her” he said fiercely and started walking again. I ran in front of him again.

“Stop” I ordered again

“Go away” he snapped harshly and glared when he passed me.

“I. SAID. STOP.” I yelled staring at his now frozen back. The whole cafeteria was silent and staring at me. I never used that tone before. That was an Alpha’s commanding tone. Since when do I have that much authority. I’ve only heard dad use it and Parker once. Hunter turned around and face me. He walked back and took a seat at the lunchroom table. Snapping out of my daze and look at the two very confused humans still standing by the door. I slowly approach them. It was Parker’s duty to stop these things from happening and to get acquainted with the humans, but obviously that wasn't happening. He was probably sucking face with Lindsay, I thought bitterly.

“Hello, my name’s Avery.You’re new here right?” I introduced myself to the pair

“Hi, my name is Scarlett and this is my brother Nathan” she said with a smile

“Hey” the guy who is now Nathan said

“Hey” I replied then looked towards the girl

“That was really kick ass what you just did” she said and I had a face of confusion

“Ordering that guy” Nathan explained for me and he looked towards Hunter who was glaring at him

“Ahhhh that. Thank you?” I said coming to realization

“No problem” she said and I smiled

“Do you guys want to join us?” I asked and gestured towards our table

“OK!” Scarlett said excitedly

“Sure” Nathan said with a shrug

“Great!” I said and led them towards the table.

“This is Scarlett and Nathan” I introduced them to my friends and Hunter smiled at Scarlett but glared at Nathan

“They’re siblings” I said putting a emphasizes on ‘siblings’ as I look at Hunter pointedly. He visibly relaxed and smiled

“Hello, I’m Hunter. That’s Meghan and Maddison” Hunty gestured towards Meghan and Maddison.

I watched as Scarlett was mesmerized by Hunter. Ahhh, the effect of the mate bond. I took a seat and made sure Scarlett sat next to Hunter. Nathan sat in the middle of Madds and I and we continued eating lunch fully aware of the whole cafeteria’s eyes on us. If Parker was here and saw the whole scene I would surely hear all about it again at home.
