The man tightened his grip on his chopsticks. He picked up some of Ling’er’s favourite dishes and placed them into the bowl in front of her. The man looked at Ling’er.

Xiao Jiu tilted his head and looked at Ling’er. After sizing her up for a while, he said, “I feel that Grandma has lost weight too. Is Grandpa bullying you? But I’m here. I won’t let Grandpa bully you.”

Xiao Jiu couldn’t wait to throw away the tissue and take the phone. As soon as the call connected, he called out, “Mommy, I’m at Grandma’s place. Grandma is right next to me.”
