âLet me repeat, youâve been surrounded by us!â
This statement clearly infuriated Arnold. He sneered and fired several shots directly at Scott. âDream on!â
Gunfire erupted, and Moses immediately pulled Xanthe into a corner.
Scott hid behind a building. âIf you fire more shots, once we catch you, there will be no chance for you to repent!â
As these words fell, Arnold glanced at a black car emitting smoke. His expression fell into a complex dilemma. He quickly retreated. There was a boat docked by the seaside, ready for a quick escape.
There shouldnât be any police waiting in the sea as the number of officers present was far from enough to apprehend him.
âDexter!â Arnold shouted loudly at the black figure. âI will surely take revenge for what happened today!â
After he finished speaking, he shot at the black car under the cover of his henchmen. Bang, bang, bang!
The black car emitted even more smoke, and screams of a woman could be heard from inside.
The sound was too familiar, catching Dexter and Scottâs attention. The formerâs face changed drastically, and he approached the car quickly.
âThis car has been locked, and a timed bomb is installed inside. If you canât save her, she will undoubtedly die!â
Arnold had already boarded the boat. Leaning against an obstacle, he said, âYou have to suffer like me.â
The boat quickly started, and bullets hitting it couldnât cause any harm.
A beam of light swept across his face, tainted with traces of blood. He revealed a smile, desolate yet fierce.
Trapped inside the car, Josie was frantically pounding on the window. She had just finished a phone call when the vehicle suddenly sounded an alarm. Then, she discovered a ticking time bomb hidden under her seat, counting down rapidly.
Suddenly, gunfire erupted outside, bringing harm to the car. Josie understood that she couldnât just sit and wait to die. She had to seek help.
âHelp! Help!â Josie choked on the smoke.
The bomb had a countdown of ten minutes, and time was ticking away.
Suddenly, a figure appeared outside. He somehow found an iron rod and began to smash the driverâs side window. Then came a familiar voice, âJosie!â
Dexter!
Josie looked up and saw the manâs rapidly paling face. There were veins bulging on his neck. He reached out to her. âCome over! Iâll take you out!â
Josie was trapped in the back seat. In despair, she raised her hand. âIâm locked in. I canât get out.â
âMove back!â Dexter roared, immediately stepping back and using the iron rod to smash the rear window.
As the loud bangs echoed from outside, Josie cried out, âDexter! Thereâs a bomb in the car! Itâs too late!â
The smashing of the car didnât stop.
Scott arrived quickly, looking anxious. âWeâve called in bomb disposal experts from the city! Itâll take at least twenty minutes!â
Josie shouted loudly, âThe bomb will detonate in eight minutes!â
âStay calm, youâre safe with us!â Scott reassured loudly.
Josie couldnât calm down. She cried even harder, âSergeant Buncho, I wonât die here, will I? If I have to die, I donât want to die a horrible death.â
In her heart, she cursed Arnold repeatedly.
Just then, there was a loud bang. Dexter had smashed the car window, his expression grim. âWhatâs all this talk about dying? Weâre not going to die!â
After saying that, he braced himself against the shattered window and leaped inside. He didnât forget to tell Scott, âHer hands are cuffed. Go find scissors, quickly!â
