I hear sounds of birds chirping and that sound wakes me up. I look at my clock that shows the time 5:30 in the morning. The sun hasn't risen yet. I try to fall asleep but as soon as I try to lay down on my bed, I bird come and sit on the window of my room.
It is a sparrow. She starts chirping. It makes me delighted. I offer her some water and to my surprise, the sparrow didn't fly away. She actually drinks some of it and looks at me like saying thank you.
I don't know what came in my mind, I just bow to her and she instantly flies and sits on my shoulder. It hadn't happened before like, like mother nature trying to wish me luck for my future.
After a few seconds, the sparrow flew in the air and I shake my head. I head downstairs and see my mom already working in the kitchen. I wish her good morning which she returns.
"Oh crap, mom I forget to tell you that you need to make a call to school that I can't come today." I say.
Mom replies, "Don't worry Ashu, I already handled it. Your mom isn't a moron."
I, "I guess I should think about it earlier. You are the smartest mom."
Mom, "Anyway, why are you up this early?"
I, "Some pleasant sounds of birds chirping woke me up."
Mom, "Wow! What a beautiful start of a day..."
I, "We have to leave home not later than 9:15. I don't want to be late on my first day of work."
Mom, "Aye Aye caption. Now, go and take a bath."
I giggle and run towards the bathroom.
"Mom, I forgot to take my towel with me. Can you please give me one please?"
Mom, "Sure."
I dry myself and moves to my room wearing my towel. I open my closet and think that I don't know what will happen today, what events are waiting for him so I decided to wear some comfortable yet stylish clothes.
I come back down to the dining table and ask mom what had she made in breakfast. She replies, "As today is a special day, I prepared some potato fritters for you."
I, "Wow, thanks mom, it's been two months I had some."
After breakfast, I realize it's still 8 a.m. and I have a lot of time before we need to get out to meet Sabryna. I ask mom if she likes to play a game of Ludo with me and she says, "Sorry Ashu but I have a lot of choruses to go first. You also have to organize a grand party on my debut in the film industry."
I, "Mom! I don't want to let anyone know about this right now."
Mom, "Don't worry, only our family and your friends from Taaleem are invited."
I sigh in relief and say, "OK then I am waiting for you in my room."
At 9:10 a.m., mom calls me to come down so we can leave the house and this whole time before mom calls me. I think about my Sabryna invited mom especially for this meeting but couldn't find out any possible reasons.
At last, we reach Sabryna's office around 9:45 a.m. and the receptionist asks us to wait in the waiting room. I lead mom to the waiting room as I already knew where it is. Sabryna enters the room at 10:02 a.m. and says, "Sorry, I am late."
My eyes frowned as I say, "What! It's just 2 minutes only."
Ms. Sabryna looks at me smiling as she says, "Ashu! you are now going to work professionally and the first lesson you have to learn from today is 'Always respect other's time'. You must be punctual everywhere. What do you think if you have to be on a live TV show, can you be even a second late?"
I reply, "I got you madam and I promise that I will always remember that."
Mom kisses me on my forehead after listening to my comment showing she is proud of me. I feel a little embarrassed being kissed by mom in from of Ms. Sabryna like a kid.
She smiles, "You need to get used to it from now. Now back to our business, first give me your email id so that I can send you the schedule and other important knowledge through it but you will get one from me when we start shooting"
I nod and write my email id on my paper and hand it to Sabryna.
(Author's word: What! Do you really think I would allow Ashu to tell you his email id? Let me tell you that I am not kind enough to let him do so. Hahaha)
After that, she hands me an agreement and other papers that basically say that I am going to perform the role of Mansi in her movie and get paid as you know. She gives me a signing amount of Rs. 2 lakhs in cheque.
I can't tell you my feeling in any words at that moment. My first income, you can only feel it first handed. Sabryna says, "Now that all the paperwork is done, you need to know some important things."
I nod and say, "Sure, tell me."
Sabryna looks at both of us seriously, "From now on there are no jokes. Everything is serious, alright."
Mom and I speak in unison, "Yes madam."
Sabryna, "Good. Ashu, do you know that every actor has to perform some research and practice to fit in the role before the shooting starts?"
I nodand she continues, "See, I still have to find some more people to play otherroles and therefore, the shooting will start after about a month or earlier.Meanwhile, you need to learn how to be a girl and you must blend in it that evenyour mom has to think twice that you are not a girl. Only then you can seeyourself perfect for the role."
