"Man, that's not even close to what I could've done. Have you even seen me play?" Carter brags, only pushing Dylan to protest even more. As if we haven't heard enough of their basketball stories and glories.

"How about a one-on-one tomorrow?" Dylan straightens up and tries to size Carter up from the other side of the table. "We'll see who's the real one then."

Mel groans in annoyance, voicing my thoughts as well. He stands up and grabs Dylan's drunken body. To think I am one of those who didn't drink tonight, now that is an accomplishment. But Carter asked me to take care of him, and seeing as he can barealy lift himself up, I know why I'm avoiding alcohol. I help him sit up and he smiles at me weakly.

"Where to?" I ask Mel who starts walking out of the booth.

"I need a drink." He says and pulls Dylan after him. Leaving them alone in that booth would probably be a bad idea so I'm thankful for Mel's way of thinking.

"Scotch, please." Mel says when we reach the long bar, filled with all kinds of people. We sit on the empty stools, placing the drunk boys beside us.

"Make that two." I tell the waitress who nods at me and goes to prepare her drink. It doesn't take me long to examine her curvaceous body and I must say that uniform fits her well.

"Did you get everything for the wedding?" Mel asks once our drinks are placed in front of us.

"No." I roll my eyes. The amount of times that Sophia called me in the last two weeks is uncountable. She is preparig every single detail and that includes me.

"Only the shoes?"

"Yeah." I take a sip and look onto the dance floor. "I don't know why she's so worked up about that."

"It's her wedding, dude. And you're her brother. I'd get worked up myself." Mel tells me before looking in the same direction as me.

Unfortunately, in that exact moment, a tall guy appears behind Jessica, grabbing her hips. She obviously feels discomfort, as she tries to move away from him.

"You're shitting me." Mel growls and forces his glass on the table, making the drink itself spill out of it. He gets off the stool, but I place my hand on his chest, knowing exactly what's in his head right now. His eyes start getting bloodshot when he sees the guy grab Jessica's waist and she moves away from him, her face looking disgusted.

"Fuck no."

"Mel, wait!" I try, but he stalks into the crowd and I rush after him.

He seizes the guy and throws a punch hard enough to make the guy fall to the ground. He jumps on top of him and uses everything in him to punch him numerous times in the face, making the guy's nose break most probably. I run over to him and pull him away with Luke's help. He is sweating from anger and I see his eyes not leaving the guy's body laying on the ground.

Jessica is by his side in no time, grabbing his face with both of her tiny arms.

"Calm down, baby, please." She says and I notice a tear running down her cheek. Mel's eyes search for hers and when he meets them I see him visibly relax.

"We have to leave." I turn to face Hailey, who quickly nods.

I gather Carter and the boys just as I see Mel embrace Jessica in a hug. It's crazy how that girl affects him and his anger issues, she's like a cure. We practically run outside, hoping that there is no police in sight. The last thing we need right now is dealing with cops.

"You okay?" I place my hand on Mel's shoulder and he nods absentmindedly, probably still trying to get ahold of himself.

"Guys, we have another problem." I hear Luke's voice from behind me and we all turn around to where Hailey and Luke are walking towards us. But the thing that makes us gasp is the fact that Luke is carrying a completely motionless Katherine in his hands. He trips a little bit before coming to stand next to us, placing Katherine on her feet while supporting her upper body.

"What happened?" Sarah asks as they approach us, her voice full of concern.

"She blacked out. Probably drank too much." Hailey says as she stops. I notice her face is filled with worry and I know why.

"She's never gotten drunk before." I say and Hailey nods at my statement.

"That would be my fault." Carter chuckles and Hailey instantly smacks his head. I do remember his bet saying how he could make her drunk because her capacity doesn't allow her to.

"She can't go on the bus." Jessica says.

"We'll get a cab for her. Who didn't drink much?" Hailey asks and everyone stays quiet, but when I notice my friends turning their heads towards me, I groan in disagreement.

"No, what the fuck?" I almost shiver. I know she would object to me being in a cab with her and so do I. I am not willing to babysit her.

"Wes, please." Hailey steps in front of me. "The bus ride will take forever and I'm currently so scared for her. You know I would go with her if my own head wasn't so dizzy."

"Come on, Luke can go with her." I whine and point towards the blonde boy.

"So I can have him drop her on the stairs?! She's intoxicated!" She says, becoming frustrated. I didn't mean to upset her, but I don't have the nerves to babysit a devil.

"Please, just this one time, Wes. Just get her to the house safely so she can lay down. You'll arrive before us anyway." She pleads, her eyes begging me.

I look at Katherine as she hangs on Luke, her hair almost covering her face. It looks as if she's dead and that scares me.

"Fine." I mutter, barely making my voice heard. But I know Hailey heard me because she exhales and hugs me tightly. She walks over to the road to stop a taxi.

I grab Katherine and lift her up in my arms. She is incredibly easy to carry, despite all the jokes I make about her having to go to the gym more. I get inside the taxi and place her on the backseat, her head being placed on my knees.

"Where to?" The driver asks and I give him the address of the 000 House. He nods and turns on the ignition.

"Please don't let her get injured." Hailey says while leaning on the window. I roll my eyes at her. I'm not incapable of handling situations like she thinks.

"She'll be fine." I assure her, and I know what I'm saying is true except that I won't be fine.

The car drives away from the club and onto the road, which is almost empty considering the time of the night. After a couple minutes of calm and steady driving, I feel Katherine's head shift slightly. I kind of panic when I see her eyes open slowly.

"What the hell?" She mutters quietly. She is probably still drunk, judging by the slow motions of her eyes and her head. "Where am I?"

"In a car." I answer and she looks around carefully.

"Where is he?" She closes her eyes again

"Who?" I furrow my eyebrows at her question. Hearing questions like that makes me wonder just how many drinks she's had.

"Tho one that I -" She lifts her arm and brushes her lips with her own fingers. That is when I notice how smudged her red lipstick is. My eyes widen slightly. So she managed to grab a guy. Then again, I'm not shocked. Who wouldn't want to get with her? She has an incredible body.

"You won't remember that in the morning." I tell her.

"But I want to." She mumbles and lets out a sigh before falling into complete silence.

"Why would you -" I say, but to that question, she probably wouldn't know how to answer to in this state. "Nevermind."

"I'm hungry."

"No, you're not." I press my lips together, already filled with annoyance.

"But I am." She mumbles and lifts her head, easily stretching out to peer through the seats. Before I can react, she pats the driver on the shoulder. "Excuse me, do you have any food?"

I pull her back just as the driver turns to face us, well, me. An apologetic smile forms on my face and I push Katherine down on my knees again.

"I'm sorry. She's not really stable right now." I try, but he just looks away, not even interested in what's going on.

"Where are we -"

"Can you shut up?" I drop my head to face her and lower my voice. She looks up at me, hear eyes slightly fluttering. Sometimes I wish she was a guy so I could punch her to snap her out of her attitude.

She closes her mouth and eyes and smiles gently, tiredness washing over her. I stare at her for a couple of moments. It's not every day I get the chance to look at Katherine Banner this closely. I search her face and find those exact features my friends are going crazy for. I hate to admit this girl really has them swooning over her. Her eyes are lightly widened, as if someone is pulling on them with a string. Her cheekbones are probably what every girl dreams of, all that shit they fake with countour and that sparkle thing or whatever. She does have scars, currently not visible beneath her makeup, but I know she has some scattered on her cheeks. It's a bore when my friends back in New York talk about her, saying how they want to hook up with her, when all I can do is roll my eyes when her name is mentioned. And when they talk about girls, her name is never avoided. My eyes fall to her lips, which my guys are all dying to touch. And I know exactly why. They are full, but not large, which if I may add is disgusting. And it's hard to ignore how kissable they look, especially now, when there's a hint of red lipstick on them.

"We're here." The driver says and I immediately notice how close I got to Katherine, my lips almost brushing hers.

As if on instinct, I back away quickly and blink a couple times, just to get myself in order. Ignoring my own mind, I lift her up and get out of the car. I place the cash in the driver's hand while managing to carry the girl in my arms. The car speeds away and I let out a sigh, shaking my head a little bit.

I enter the house and walk upstairs. I don't want to wake her up, because I know how she would start acting. Either she would freak out for being with me or she would start asking too many questions. So I'm going the safer way, having her sleep while I do all the work.

I get to Hailey's apartment and grip the door handle, only to find it locked.

Holy shit.

Of course they would lock it, it's the only logic thing to do. The one thing is, they didn't gove me the key. I groan loudly, not even caring about the people sleeping on this floor.

Using one of my hands I take out my phone, quickly reaching so I can support Katherine again. I try to call Hailey, but she doesn't answer. I try the same with Luke, Sarah, Jessica and Mel, but neither of them seem to be bothered to answer my calls.

Now what?

I roll my eyes and go over to my apartment and take out the keys. The door clicks and I push it with my leg. By now, my arms are already starting to hurt and I rush over to my bedroom. I place Katherine on one side of my bed and straighten up. I can't beileve they actually made me do this. They are all going to suffer tomorrow, I'm not letting this go. I sigh and walk out, closing the door behind me, seeing as that's the only option I have.
