"Is she awake?"
"I can't see through doors."
"That's funny, C."
I wonder if I should groan or laugh at the two voices outside the room as I open the door wide and greet them both with a nice morning glare.
"There's our crudo." Carter smiles at me from the couch, his hand gripping a cup of coffee, something I'm dying to have tight now.
"Crudo?" I wonder as I pass all of them, my cousin, Jessica and Carter, sauntering in the kitchen where Wes is grabbing multiple items out of the dishwasher. I take the coffee from the counter and start making it for myself.
"I heard it's Mexican for hungover." Carter explains his use of words and Hailey scoffs.
"You're probably using it wrong." She mumbles.
"Cállate." I hear him say and a giggle escapes my lips as I turn to look at him funnily. Hand it to Carter to make me laugh even when my head is pounding badly. I just shake my head and turn back to my coffee, adding the brown ingredient.
The apartment door creaks open and I hear a small voice, unable to comprehend what is said, but the humming makes me sigh. I look at the wal in front of me and grip the tiny spoon tighter. From the corner of my eye I can see Wes smirking at my reaction, his own hand holding a clear white plate.
"Is it her?" I whisper, my voice barely audible, but enough for him to hear. He looks to the side and rolls his eyes lightly, nodding at me. I just press my lips together, flicking the spoon in the sink, overexaggerating my throw. I fake a smile and walk into the living room, where the blondie has already placed herself in the sofa. I sit beside Carter and spread my legs over the other side of the couch.
"It's nice." Jessica nods at my cousin after examining her hand, probably looking at the finger Hailey always wears. Her family gave it to her when she turned eighteen and she hasn't taken it off since.
"It's getting smaller." Hailey says, raising her hand to look at it herself, a frown visible on her face.
"No, your fingers are getting bigger." Jess comments.
"Fatter." Carter corrects, receiving a finger from my cousin.
"Don't worry. Luke will get you another one." Jessica teases and Hailey's face progresses to a faint red shade, expressing her natural ability to blush easily. She tries to hide in her hair, becoming shy.
"Not on those sausages." Carter says and not a second later, Hailey throws a wide pillow at him. I try to cover my mouth in order to stifle my laugh.
Wes enters and walks around the coffee table, over to where I'm sitting. He grabs both of my legs with one of his hands while holding a mug with his other. I raise an eyebrow as he places himself on the couch, letting my bare legs fall into his lap. My eyes carefully scan the room and just as I thought, our friends are not too oblivious to this action. Both Hailey and Jessica stopped what they were doing for a second and Ellie is undoubtedly raising her own eyebrows. Carter has his phone between his fingers but I can the his pupils move to the corners of his eyes. All of that happens in just a millisecond, but I notice it, and it makes me nervous.
"Are you feeling better, um, Katie?" Ellie fixes her face and leans forward. Wes scoffs loudly, covering his mouth with his hand.
"Katie." He mutters. I nudge him and try to get my feet away from his lap but he places his hand on my legs and tightens the grip.
"Call me Kat. And I'm good. Better. Thanks." I smile at the blonde. She seems distracted for a moment but smiles back.
"Did the alcohol not sit well or something? Because you looked pretty bad." She wonders and I nod my head.
"Apparently." I shrug. "I can drink but clearly not so much. It's awful."
"And you just realised that?" She jokes.
"Yeah." I laugh back. "I've never drunk that much before."
"Let's not forget the night at the club." Jessica reminds me. She moves her hair from her face and winks at me.
"Right. And guess what? Both of those times are his fault." I point to Carter and he widens his eyes as if I'm accusing him of something that isn't true.
"I didn't do anything." He raises his hands in surrender. "You liked the taste."
"I should just stick to two drinks a night." I say and they all burst into laughter, obviously not believing me.
"I can drink like a man." Ellie says, sounding proud.
"Yeah, we all know that." Wes says, taking a sip of his coffee. He's not looking at her but she just glares at him.
"Not like that anymore." She tells him but he just nods sarcastically. "Besides, you didn't mind it before."
I shift my eyes between the two as Ellie leans back and crosses her hands over her chest. Just as something falls on my mind, Carter voices my exact thoughts.
"No need for drama, exes. Everyone agreed on that, Ellie." He tells the blonde girl who just rolls her eyes. My head snaps in Wes's direction but his eyes seem to avoid mine. His fingers tighten around my ankles as he brings the white mug to his lips. His gulp is slow on purpose and when he removes the mug he just continues to stare ahead.
"Fine, fine. I know, a promise is a promise." Ellie plays with a strand of her hair, twirling it around her finger. "I don't wanna bring any tensions between you guys."
"I sure hope." Carter say sternly, typing something on his phone before setting it down on his lap. "Dylan is on his way here so try not to."
"Great." She mumbles, crossing her long legs. I look over to the blue eyes boy but he seems to be annoyed with everything that is happening. His mood has changed quickly.
The door opens and Dylan walks in, accompanied by Mel. I haven't seen Dave in some time so he must still be feeling unwell. Dylan stops at the doorstep, as if just now realizing who is in the room. The boys have been avoiding Ellie, after all. He moves his eyebrows up and down before fully entering, taking a seat on the floor in front of Hailey and Jessica.
"What's up?" Mel says, being beside Dylan, who is fiddling with his hands.
"Kat's hungover." Carter answers and I roll my eyes while Mel chuckles.
"Like he didn't know. What'd you call it, crada?" I say to Carter and try to grab my coffee from the table, but it's impossible seeing that I can't move from my spot.
"Crudo. You might wanna fix your Spanish, mami." Wes informs me, looking at me sideways. I forget about others for a moment, only looking at his lips when he called me that, or said the word that means hangover. I know his grandmother is Spanish but I've never heard him say anything in that language and Spanish really is something that girls fall for. I bite my lip and look away, having to ignore the heat that raises up my legs as he moves his thumb across my skin.
"You took Spanish?" Carter asks me and I wave my hand.
"Yeah, freshman year. But I gave up when I realized I can't even pronounce the numbers." I reply.
"It goes one, two, three -" Wes starts counting on his fingers and I kick my foot at him, making him chuckle.
"I meant in Spanish, dumbass." I tell him.
"I only watch movies. Can't resist a guy when he talks Spanish." Hailey says, shifting so she makes herself more comfortable.
"Blue, talk to her." Carter says and Wes shakes his head.
"Nah, man, don't wanna get clocked." He says, which makes me wonder where my cousin's boyfriend is.
"Where's Luke?" I ask out loud, hoping to get an answer from someone.
"The gym." Hailey answers.
"Oh, fuck!" Carter shoots up from his seat. "I told him I'd come. Well, gotta go."
He rushes to to the door and grabs his sneakers before exiting, waving at us. I didn't even notice he was in gym shorts while he was sitting beside me.
"I thought we could go shopping." Ellie mentions, and Hailey smiles.
"I'm in." She says and searches for Jessica's and my face. I can see the small nose scrunch that Jess does and suddenly I am pleased with her reaction. I wouldn't wanna be the only one to decline their offer.
"I already got myself a couple things the other week." I tell them. Ellie nods at me before looking at Jessica.
"Um, I can't go." She mumbles and they raise and eyebrow. Mel clears his throat and speaks up.
"We're going on a trip." He tells them. Jessica shyly agrees with him by nodding.
"In our favourite rocket ship." Wes mumbles and Ellie laughs. She grabs her hair and twirls in between her fingers.
I ignore the two and look over at Jessica and Mel. I find them so adorable, the newly confirmed couple. I am glad Mel is the one to speak, because as Jess mentioned, he is pretty secluded about relationships. Wes already told me before and now it's visible, she is making him more open and comfortable.
"Alright, then." Hailey says and stands up, offering a hand to the blondie. She grabs it and gets up with her, her dress raising as she does that. She couldn't have chosen a shorter dress. Doesn't she think it's a little too early for those kinds of outfits?
"We'll see you later." My cousin waves and leaves the living room.
"Babe." Mel nods at Jess and they both get up, leaving us as well.
Just when I thought Dylan would leave as well, he spreads his long legs across the opposite couch, placing his hands behind his head. He sighs in expatriation and Wes looks at me from the side. I just shrug.
"Kat, do you have a brother?" Dylan asks me, looking up at the ceiling. I'm stunned by the question but decide to answer it anyway.
"I have a younger brother." I reply. Wes's fingers start making their way to the inside of my knee and I place my hand there as a barricade.
"Your last name's Banner, right?" Dylan asks and I nod, before realizing he's not even looking at me. That is probably the reason why Wes grabs my hand and removes it forcefully from my knee.
"Yeah." I say, my answer lacking some air because a certain someone is teasingly moving his hand across the bottom of my thigh.
"One time I was in New York and met a guy and his last name was Banner. Must be some distand cousin." Dylan continues to lead the small conversation, completely oblivious to the actions Wes is perfoming. I look over to him and his blue eyes gleam wickedly at mine.
"Might be. New York is a big place." I say and try to scold Wes with my eyes, but it doesn't work and only further amuses him, as his smirk grows wider. He does stop when Dylan's phone rings and the boy sits up in order to answer it. Wes only drops his hand beside my legs, following every move Dylan makes.
"Hey, dude, you okay?" He speaks into the phone and then nods when he has received the answer. "I'll be right there."
He hangs up and places his phone in his pocket, moving to stand up.
"I gotta go get some meds for Dave, so I'll see you later." He informs us and I nod sheepishly.
"How's he feeling?" Wes asks just as Dylan reaches the door.
"Honestly, bad. He's got a fever and all that shit." He shrugs sadly and opens the door, telling us goodbye one last time. I wait for the door to close before I can actually physically relax.
But it doesn't last long, as Wes pulls on my legs making me sink further into the squishy couch. He supports himself on his elbows, placing them next to my head, and leans over me. The heat radiates from him and I part my lips as I myself start feeling tense.
"You're not leaving anywhere." He declares. I squirm under his gaze and he only presses himself closer to me.
"What's up with Ellie?" I ask, purposely wanting to annoy him. He rolls his eyes and grabs my hip harshly, making me squeal.
"Wes!" I warn him.
"We hooked up two years ago. End of story." He tells me, not really keen on comtinuing the conversation.
"No ex-feelings or any of that stuff?" I ask him. I'm already growing impatient but I know why I'm asking this. I would never wanna be the girl in between so I'm just making sure.
"Not the slightest." He answers, pushing his lower region down. I bite my lip and nod.
"That's all I needed to know." I say sternly and his eyes blaze as I wrap my hands around his neck. Our lips meet halfway in a hungry and tension filled kiss. His hands fold under my body, taking my ass in his hand. His tongue slips over my bottom lip before entering and colliding with mine. His hand travels down under my knee and he lifts one of my legs. I wrap it around him and moan quietly when I feel his hard as he pushes himself on me. He seems to be as eager as I am because he removes himself from me and swiftly takes me in his hands. He opens the door of his bedroom with a kick of his foot and closes it the same way. He settles me on the bed and immediately moves to remove my shorts. I pull on his shirt and he stops midway to take it off. I place my lips in a tight line as I take in his torso. My shorts are off in a second and so is my shirt. He dips his head and starts leaving peppered kisses down the valley of my breast. I sigh in pleasure to the touch that I just can't seem to get enough of. He takes off his own shorts before connecting our lips again. My nails rake down his back in a subtle manner I know he can't resist. That's when he removes my panties and powerfully thrusts his finger inside of me, making me release a loud curse.
"Yeah. You'll scream for me, baby." He smirks and I would slap him if I could even move. But my body is paralyzed as he fastens his pace and my eyes shut. I grip the sheets tighter and bite my lip. Just as I reach my high he removes his finger and I widen my eyes at him.
"What the hell?" I look at him but he doesn't reply and instead moves and hovers over me, making me glare at him.
"You're a fucking asshole." I mutter and he smirks, his hand moving underneath my back.
"I know." He winks and enters me.
A moan escapes my lips and God help me if I've ever felt this much pleasure. I'm no virgin and I had sex with other guys before Wes, but not this way, so pleasurable and satisfying. I wrap my legs around his waist, allowing him more access and he grunts, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Shit." He mutters, trying to bring us as close as possible.
Just when I think it couldn't get better, he leans away and grabs both of my wrists, pinning them above my head. My legs fall from his hips as he burries himself inside me. His lips kiss mine, adding more fire to the moment. He accelerates his movements and every second he's deeper, making my skin flame. I want to move my hands, but when I try his eyes blaze into mine as if warning me not to. His dominant side shows and I can't help but feel more attracted.
I can feel myself coming close to my climax and he looks like he's reaching it as well, as he throws his head back before pushing into me one last time. Wes releases my wrists slowly and with closed eyes, nuzzles his head in my neck. My fingers travel into his hair as we're both left panting. His hands wrap around my waist, his hot breath lingering on my skin.
"You're so good." He murmurs into my hair. "Really the best I ever had."
"Don't praise me too much, I'll get cocky."
"You'll get the cock anywa -" I bop the back of his head and he chuckles lightly. He kisses my neck and mumbles something but I'm not able to hear.
"What?" I ask but he shakes his head and pushes himself off of me. I'm disappointed by the sudden loss of contact, but I just cover myself with the sheets. He places on his boxers and throws me my underwear. He steps over some items on the floor and moves to the door.
Despite just having sex with the guy, I feel my cheeks heat up when he turns around and winks at me, closing the brown door behind him.
