Chapter 27: 26 Minions

Enemy 000Words: 13669

Wes grabs my ass and pulls me as close as he can, so I am able to feel how hard he's getting by each second. He squeezes it harshly and slips his tongue between my teeth. I form a circle around his neck and wrap my fingers in his hair. He moves his own fingers to the band of my shorts and pulls them through.

"Wes!" Mel's voice interrupts us, echoing through the apartment.

Wes's hands stop moving on my body and he shuts his eyes close.

"Fucking asshole." He mumbles and I can't help but giggle as I shuffle out of his bed. He doesn't release me easily so I have to struggle to get out of his grip. I only hope Carter isn't there to see me here. It would be hard to explain. I fix my shirt so it doesn't look like it was about to be taken off before grabbing the door handle.

"We'll finish this later." Wes lowers his voice and slaps my ass. I throw him a glare before exiting the room, where Mel is casually lounging on the couch. His smirk grows wide when he sees me and I'm already hearing his comments in my mind.

"Is this a regular thing now?" He moves his finger between me and Wes, who is walking behind me. Neither of us answers as I sit next to him and Wes moves over to the kitchen.

"Man, that must be some aggressive sex." He says and I instantly hit his shoulder. He laughs harder and I see Wes rolling his eyes from where he's standing.

"You hit hard. I can only imagine how -"

"Shut the fuck up, Mel." Wes growls and Mel chuckles once again, finding the situation amusing. I only stare at him but I can't help the grin forming on my lips. It's not the jokes that he makes, no, those are awful, but I'm seeing this different side to him and it makes me happy knowing that he's more relaxed now.

"The girls were looking for you." Mel tells me before taking his glass full of water.

"Why?" I ask, although it's a dumb question. They have no idea where I am and I haven't told them anything.

"I suppose to get ready for Peeta's birthday." He says unsurely.

"So that is today? But I don't even know him." I say.

"Like that matters." Mel drops the glass back on the coffee table. He shrugs as he continues to speak. "There will be like ten people who know him. Others will just come to party."

"Come where? Isn't it at the house?" I ask. I'm glad not knowing him is not a big deal. I always worry if I'm a bother to some people around here.

"Oh, no it's not. I forgot you don't know the place. There's this small venue down the road. Well, it's not close. Close to Falls." He says and I try to pinpoint where it could be. "It's not a club but it's -"

He stops and realises he doesn't know how to explain it. It's noticable by the way he was trying to gesture with his hands.

"It's like a wedding venue. But much smaller." Wes starts as he walks over to the couch. He sits down beside me, placing his hands behind his head. "It's good but it's hella expensive. Only Peeta would be dumb enough to rent it."

"But the parties there are always good." Mel joins in. "Because you can't have just anyone inside so it feel more private."

"Private? Didn't you say only ten people -"

"He was trying to explain, Katherine." Wes slightly groans.

"He was trying to explain." I mock him, shaking my head violently. He glares at me and I giggle, clearly finding myself funny.

"Yeah, laugh at it, nobody else is." He mutters and furrows his eyebrows at me. I see his eyes travel down my bare legs before he quickly returns them to my eyes.

"I bet you two are like." Mel starts, holding his glass in his hands again before he makes his voice sound high pitched. "Wes, I'm about to come. And Wes goes like."

My eyes widen but before I can say anything, Mel's voice goes deeper.

"Nah, I'm not gonna let you come. And he pulls out on purpose."

He grins to himself as Wes and I stare at him for a really long time. I think over the words he said and practically want to slap him whereas the boy beside me suddenly releases a laugh, clearly trying not to let it out fully as he closes his mouth instantly.

"Why the hell are you laughing?!" I look at him and wonder out loud. He then goes on full laughing mode and tips his body down on the couch.

"What's up, people?" Carter's voice booms through the apartment as the front door is shut loudly. I flinch at the sound and turn around to greet him. He stops mid walking and raises an eyebrow at me. I know what he's going to ask so I deside to save him the trouble.

"Carter, do you have an extra pair of earphones? I lost mine." I smile. That's beilevable, right?

Carter seems to think so, as his face turns back to normal and he nods, instantly sauntering off to his room. Seconds later he returns with a pair of white earphones.

"Anything for you, sugar." He winks and walks into the kitchen, opening the fridge.

"Thank you." I stand up and see Wes calm down from his laughing fit as his eyes find mine. "I can go now."

"I'd offer you a drink, but you are going to Peeta's birthday, right?" Carter steps in front of me, both of his hands busy. One is holding a beer bottle and the other one is carrying his famous sunglasses.

"Yeah. I am." I say and offer a cheeky smile. He nods and I walk around him to place my hand on the door knob.

"Bye, guys." I wave at them before exiting their apartment. I kind of don't want to go to this party but I must admit, I'm interested in how it will look like. So far I've only experienced loud clubs and the full house.

I walk into my apartment and instantly freeze. The place looks like Regina George's freaking room. The girls are settled all over the floor while the tables and chairs are covered in champagne glasses, dresses and makeup products. Just as I walk past the doorstep, Luke pushes past me as his eyes hold a horrified look.

"Good luck." He says to me and I scrunch my face as I hear the sentence for the second time today.

"Kat, get over here! We need to work on you fast." Jessica ushers me to the chair in front of her and I nod slowly, still unsure of what's happening. Ellie is curling my cousin's hair and Sarah is trying out a number of earrings.

I make my way to the chair and sit myself on it. I'm scared of the overly excited look Jess is giving me as she dabs on my cheeks.

"So, natural or sexy?" She asks, already grabbing a brush and a makeup palette.

"I don't know." I shrug weirdly.

"I'll just do my magic, then." She smiles and raises the brush to my eyes.

"What's going on?" I manage in a whisper.

"We're getting ready for the party." She says, too loud if you ask me. What the hell happened while I was gone?

"I mean the champagne and the sparkles and shit." I try to glance around but she places her hand on my chin and holds me steady.

"Next!" Ellie's voice comes out and I watch as Hailey moves to the side and Sarah tiptoes to where she was sitting.

Alright, is this some sick joke?

I wait impatiently as Jessica finishes her 'magic' on me. As I look in the mirror I am surprised how well she did my makeup, but I'm still in shock.

"What will you be wearing?" Ellie approaches me.

"I have no idea." I look over to the dresses hanging around her arms. They look overly expensive and way too beautiful for me to even touch them.

"You can have one of mine? I was thinking that you could wear this one, actually." She takes out a black dress and I have to cover my mouth at how gorgeous it looks. The embroidery is small but visible on the waist and the soft material loosely hangs down the dress. There are no straps and it's hard not to stare at it as the small sparkles shine from the light.

"I couldn't. That looks like it should be labeled 'Fragile. Handle with care'." I say quickly.

"Probably." She looks down on the silky dress. "But we're all dressing fancy tonight so why not match with us?" She gazes at me and places the dress in my chest. She releases it and I rush over to catch it so it doesn't hit the ground.

"I don't really do matching." I answer but she shakes her finger at me.

"It'll look good on you. Wear it. For me." She pouts and I force a smile, nodding as I do it. She shows her white teeth and literally hops away. Hops. I don't know what's up with that girl but so far I've gathered the fact that she acts like a ten year old me.

"Oh, girls?" Ellie announces, making us all stop to listen to her. "Amber is coming with us, so there won't be enough space for us in the car."

"I can ride with the -"

"I'll go with the guys." I stop Hailey from suggesting it and she looks at me weirdly. She starts to protest but I decide to stop her again.

"The four of you haven't seen each other in a long time. It's just a ride." I shrug nonchalantly. I do not want to ride with Regina George, pretty or not. Who knows, she might play A Thousand Miles in her car and make eveyone sing it and I refuse to do something like that.

"I hope that's okay. If you want, I can drive them and then come pick you up." Ellie looks at me with another one of her pouts.

"No, don't worry." I chuckle, trying to ease the tension. "I like the guys."

"Of course you do." She smiles to herself and walks over to Jessica, taking out the curler. "How are they anyway?"

I remember the way they bolted on her so I spin around and walk into my room, they can gossip among themselves.

The dress that Ellie gave me is incredibly flexible, seeing how I managed to fit in it. Barely. Ellie is probably three sizes smaller than me and I even had to jump up and down to pull it over my ass. I have more curves, definitely more than her, and the black dress feels tighter than I guess it should be. But despite that, it still looks great and for once I am glad nobody forced me to wear heels. Not for now, at least. I put my bracelet on and walk out of the room. Ellie smiles when she looks at me and I manage to get a peek of my cousin's face of disapproval as she eyes my feet.

"We're all ready?" Sarah asks and grabs her purse. To think they needed so long to get ready while I only needed twenty minutes is both ridiculous and interesting.

The boys are lazily draped on the sofas and I must admit, their reactions to us is not what I expected. Instead of whistles coming from Carter or the nodding approval from Luke, we are greeted with scowls and humming.

"Um, guys, do you mind if I ride with you? Ellie's friend is going in her car." I ask quietly and Carter stands up, placing his sunglasses on the bridge of his nose.

"Yes, of course." He grabs my wrist and pulls me with him towards the wide door.

"We'll meet you there." I hear Mel say before the fresh air fills my nostrils and Carter's car comes in view. He opens the door for me and I try to ignore his blank face as I plant myself inside. Luke follows, sitting in the passenger seat and Mel and Wes come with me in the back. Of course Wes sits beside me, his expression unreadable. I set my purse aside and clear my throat.

"Will someone tell me what the hell is going on?" I ask them, my question directed not only towards their behaviour, but also the presence of that tall blonde girl I just can't seem to understand.

Carter turns in his seat sharply and I panic when he takes off his sunglasses, looking me directly in the eyes.

"That girl, Ellie." He says her name in a low voice. "She's bat shit crazy, Kat. Her lifestyle is crazy. She's a model, okay? I bet you already assumed. But she's mad. She has these weird ass habits and this way of living we will never consider normal. Now that would all be fine if our girls never started going with her flow. They become fucking minions whenever she's around and to this day, I don't know why. We don't know why. She's beautiful, we will all admit, but she's absolutely, completely crazy."

I stay silent for a while, examining the others while they agree with Carter by nodding their heads fiercely.

"I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed." I say.

"I'm glad you asked us. Because she's sure as hell trying to get you in by placing you in that dress." He points to my sparkly dress and I frown.

"I don't want to be her minion." I say and they all chuckle.

"I certainly hope you don't." Luke says and leans his elbow on the window.

"Why didn't you try talking to them? The girls." I ask them all and they shake their heads. Carter starts the car and turns around to go in reverse.

"They won't listen." Wes mutters.

"It's like they're oblivious to what they're doing. She literally controls them." Carter explains and I can't help but chuckle at this. He spins back to face the wheel and slams on the gas hard.

"Hailey becomes a fucking girl when she's around her." Luke says and I nod, even though he can't see me. So he also noticed how different she is acting.

"Jess just becomes worse." Mel looks away into the distance and I hear Luke chuckle.

"Just don't take orders from her. She can be very convincing when she wants to be." Wes tells me, focusing on the back of the seat in front of me. The boys seem to be in their own worlds, not minding our conversation.

"Well she already forced me into this dress." I scoff, lifting the material I now want to take off.

"The dress is good. Although, I don't think it's your size." He nods at my chest and I roll my eyes. I'm glad I at least have some boobs, she is flat as hell.

"I thought she would be cool." I comment, referring to Ellie.

"She's considered cool, she just acts like a bitch." He mumbles.

"Is she like, famous?"

"Nah." He shakes his head. "But everyone knows what she does for a living and that's kind of a big deal, I guess."

"Good for her."

I see Wes smirk at me, his blue eyes meeting mine, before his hand glides over my thigh, squeezing it lightly. He removes it just as fast as he performed the move and he leans back in his seat and closes his eyes, seeming to drown everything around him.
