Chapter 25: 24 Honesty

I stir in my sleep and slowly open my eyes. The breeze in the room passes over my uncovered legs and I stretch out my hand. The bed is soft under my fingers, the white sheets making it look so light. I swiftly rotate myself so I'm laying on my back. My hair finally moves away from my face and I blink a couple times.

Holy shit.

My thighs hurt, an ache between my legs forms everytime I move a muscle. But my body feels brand new, like I have slept for days. I sit up, placing my body weight on my palms and look around.

The balcony doors are open, revealing the light blue sky. And the boy standing there, one elbow on the railing, while the other one holds a cigarette. That view is different, a first timer for me. I keep my eyes on him until I decide to get up. I wrap myself in the sheets and place my legs down. My bare feet hit the carpet and I walk over to the balcony. I place my hand on the glass and step out, slightly shivering from the coldness of the tiles underneath me.

"You got one for me?" I say, keeping my hand on my chest to not let the sheets fall. Wes turns his head partly before he looks me up and down. He doesn't respond, but grabs his package from the railing and opens it, taking a cigarette out. He extends it to me, keeping his eyes on me. He's wearing a plain white shirt, the one he had on last night.

I place the cigarette between my lips, feelings coming over me. It's been a couple years since I've smoked, so it brings back a lot of memories.

"I like this, you know." He says, looking off in the distance again. I take the lighter from his hands and put the flame in, inhaling while my eyes close.

"This?" I ask, placing my elbows on the silver railing.

"Yeah, us." He takes a drag. "I'm so tired of all those hookups and one night stands. It's getting on my fucking nerves and I'm tired of it."

He exhales and looks at me before continuing.

"This. Us." He moves his finger between me and him. "I want this only. I don't mean relationships and that shit, that's not what I'm into and I know that's not what you're into. I didn't want that blondie, whatever her name is. I wanted you. Last night, that night? I've never felt it better than that. I want that all the time, whenever."

He's standing so close to me, looking down at me as his hand snakes around me.

"You feel so good with me and I don't think anyone could match up to that." His thumb caresses my lips.

"So what do you have in mind?" I ask carefully, trying not to be distracted by his comments. I know my cigarette is burning away but I can't focus on that right now.

"Benefits. Excitement. Pleasure." He spills the words. Then he hikes his eyebrow and smirks. "Fun."

"You want this to become a regular thing?"

I can't beileve this conversation I'm having with Wes. But the thoughts of it excites me and brings fire into me.

"Yes." He flicks off his own cigarette, seeming to forget about it as well.

"No commitment?" I ask. That is the last thing I need in my life.

"Is that what you want?" He smirks. He clearly already knows the answer.

"No!" I make a disgusted face and he snickers, circling my waist with both of his hands.

"Thought so." He pulls me closer, bowing his head down to meet mine. "Now give me a kiss so we can settle this deal."

I roll my eyes until he places his lips on mine, pulling my bottom lip between his teeth. It's a nice gesture for a morning, but I find it odd to be in this situation. Wes's phone buzzes from the inside of the room and he looks over to it before letting me go. He steps inside and takes his phone in his hands, answering the call.

"What's up?" He says into the speaker and places his other hand on his hip. He listens to the other line for quite sometime before answering.

"Uh, no, man. I was actually there last night." He says and runs his hand through his hair. He seems nervous and I raise an eyebrow to try and get an explanation. "Uh, I did. But I came later and then I went for a jog early this morning."

Then I realize he's explaining himself to someone, probably one of the guys. I clasp my palm over my mouth when I remember Carter and Sarah. Neither of them know about Wes and I, so they probably have no idea where I am. I rush past Wes and grab my phone from the nightstand. And when I open it, I groan loudly.

Sarah

Where are you?

Sarah

Do you have the key?

Sarah

Are you even in the hotel? It's late.

Unknown

It's Carter. Where are u?

Sarah

Can you call me?

All those texts including a few missed calls from Sarah, Carter and Hailey.

"Sure, yeah." I hear Wes say just as he hangs up the call.

"Shit." He looks at me with a blank stare.

"I didn't come to the room last night." I note and see Wes roll his eyes.

"Clearly. But you did come after I fu -"

"Who called you?" I ask him before he can finish his remark. Now is not the time for us to make jokes about anything.

"Dylan." He answers and looks at me while waiting for my response. We both obviously want to keep this a secret, so nobody intervenes, but how do we make an excuse for staying out of our rooms the entire night? And if I must mention, both of us.

"Alright." I say when I figure something out. I move inside the room and sit on the bed, lifting one leg so I can place my chin on my knee.

"You'll stick to your story. He beileved it, right?" I raise my eyebrow and Wes shrugs. I decide to take that as a yes and take my phone again and pick the number I want to call. I wait a few rings until the sleepy 'hello' is heard.

"Hails." I say and take a deep breath. "I need to ask you a favor."

When the words leave my mouth Wes widens his eyes and lunges himself towards me. I quickly get off the bed and run to the balcony. He follows me and starts the attempt to take my phone away from me. I swat his hand harshly and press my fingers against his chest. Then I put the phone back on my ear and lift the sheets around me higher.I motion for him to stay quiet before I listen to my cousin's reply.

"Where are you? I was so worried about you!" My cousin beams into the speaker, sounding less that satisfied.

"Just listen to me. I need you right now." I say and ignore the blue eyed boy who's glaring at me.

"Okay?" Hailey asks, sounding confused.

"Last night, I left to meet with this guy." I say and look at Wes, who is fuming. He must think I'm stupid or something. "I met him at the club and got his number. I stayed at his place but I don't want the others to know. I'm fine with Luke knowing, so can the two of you say that I was at your room last night?"

"Jesus, Kat." She answers and I wait impatiently. "It's no big deal. You don't have to worry. We'll keep your secret." She sounds like she's smiling so I form a smile on my own face.

"Great then. Thank you. I love you, cuz." I let out a breath.

"Love you too." She says and I press the red button to hang up the call.

As I raise my head to look at Wes, he grabs my phone and backs away. He throws it inside the room and I can only hope he threw it on the bed.

"I don't trust you with phones." He tells me when he steps in front of me again.

"A thank you would me sufficient." I roll my eyes. He just smirks as his eyes run over my body.

"Are you ticklish?" He asks with a devilish blaze in his eyes. I instantly make a step backwards, holding up my finger.

"Don't you dare." I warn and he snickers.

"You do know of you make any sudden moves that sheet will drop." He says and slowly moves towards me. "I'd like to cause that."

I feel the hand that's holding up the sheets loosen. My finger falls down next to my body and I stand up straight, my eyes set on his.

"We have to get to our rooms." I declare.

"Sure." He shrugs and steps even closer to me, now blocking my every view. His eyes pierce into mine as his hand travels to the small of my back. "But we have time."

"Not really. I'm hungry." I smile and move past him, ignoring the small groan that escapes his lips.
