This is a chapter I've been waiting for so long to write so I really hope you guys like it.
I grip the seat tighter as I feel the car speed up, the sound of its engine running through my ears. The two boys in the front seat seem more than happy as they laugh and occasionally look to their right, where the dark blue car is trying to pass us.
"Go, go, he won't be able to reach it." Carter ushers, his eyes gleaming in excitement. He looks like a little kid, bouncing up and down.
"Is this necessary?" Sarah groans beside me and I'm glad she has the same opinion as me. There is no reason for us to race this unknown person.
I look through the front window and see that we're approaching a green light, but just as we pass it, it starts turning yellow. I spin around and notice that the blue car was forced to stop at the red light, which is when two loud cheers are heard from the front.
"Good job, man." Carter raises his hand and Wes high fives him back, his hands returning to the steering wheel. The car slows down and I relax, my eyes fluttering.
I knew it would be a mistake getting into this car, but I was basically forced by Carter to cone with them. Apparently, we're going shopping, for Wes's suit. The reason for my attendance is my friendship with his sister. Sarah is going as a stylist and Carter is there to give an advice as a male. I was promised a meal and a dessert, so I couldn't say no. Besides, I was bored.
The shopping mall that we parked next to is really big and I get somewhat excited when we enter. The crowd inside makes me want to roam through the stores and I pull a big smile on my face.
The guys lead us into the first store and we're instructed to grab a suit we like and bring it to Carter, who will then approve or disapprove before it gets to Wes.
"What's his sister like?" Sarah asks me, her eyes scanning the various materials hanged neatly.
"Perky. She is the complete opposite of Wes. I personally think she doesn't care what he wears, as long as he shows up in a suit." I answer, gliding my hand over the suits.
"Then it'll be easy." She smiles and grabs a few items. I'm almost shocked at how quickly she is able to choose, but follow her to where Carter and Wes are looking at ties.
"What about this one?" Wes grabs one and places it under his neck. It's green and ugly and I make a disguisted face, shaking my head.
"That is awful. I thought your style is better." I comment, approaching the display of the ties. The range of the colors is huge so I beileve this won't be a long shopping day.
"Well, I don't know. Have you ever seen me wearing a tie?" He makes a sarcastic statement and places the ugly tie back in its place.
"You'll worry about that later. Take these and try them on." Sarah tells him and places the suits in his hands.
Wes widens his eyes at the amount of items given to him.
"All of these?" He asks.
"Yes, go." She rushes him and he groans while entering.
After waiting for almost ten minutes, which is a pretty long time for someone to dress, Wes comes out in a light blue suit. I have to avert my eyes for a second before returning them back on him. He looks remarkably good, but the tone of that color doesn't match him well.
"No." Both Sarah and I agree.
"Try the darker one." Sarah instructs and he nods before entering the changing room again.
He doesn't object when she tells him how to put it on and what to do to make it look better, which shows how much he cares about this. I can only imagine how big of a deal this is to him. Sophia is his number one person in his life and it must be both hard and new for him to let her go.
"Are you jerking off in there or something?" Carter mumbles after some time, seeing as Wes takes longer than my grandpa.
"Shut up." Wes answers him just as he exits. A gasp is heard from where Carter is sitting and he stands up, placing his hands on his heart.
"My boy is growing up." He sniffs, pretending to wipe off a tear.
"Mom, stop embarrassing me." Wes bluntly says, raising a middle finger towards his friend. Carter chuckles and sits back down, tapping on his sunglasses.
"That one's fire." He comments and Wes nods appreciatively before turning to face us.
"So, what do you think?" He asks, looking almost unsure.
I would answer, but my tongue doesn't seem to work, as my mouth falls slightly open at the sight. How good can this boy look? The dark blue colour compliments his light blue eyes so perfectly it's hard not to stare. Even the worker stops to examine him and shows him a thumbs up.
"It's amazing." Sarah says proudly. "I told you it won't take long."
She then places her bag in Carter's lap and moves over to fix Wes's collar.
"You don't even need a tie, but -" She takes a step back and thinks for a second. Then she spins her head to face me.
"Kat, do you know how to put a bow tie on?"
"Um, yeah." I say and slowly walk over to where they're standing. Sarah goes and grabs one that is the exact shade as the suit and hands it to me.
I can feel the heat running through my hands as I bring them up under Wes's chin. He isn't looking at me, but as soon as my fingers connect with the material, he glances down. I don't know why I find it so hard to focus on what I'm doing, but every now and then I look up at him to see him smirk at me.
"Try not to ruin it." He says, only for me to hear.
"I wish I could." I mutter, still focused on the blue bow tie. I know how to do this, but I seem to fail everytime and have to do it over again.
"Your comebacks are getting worse, babe." His deep voice interrupts me again. He glances up before I feel his hand brush my waist, slowly and carefully.
"Your insults are not that creative either." I say and take a step back, finally done. A sigh comes out of my mouth and I turn to Sarah, who is focused on the conversation with Carter. Carter nods towards me and Sarah spins around, a smile breaking out on her face.
"You're ready, Blue." Carter approves with a smile, too.
"It looks great." Sarah compliments.
We wait in front of the store for Wes to pay for the suit and once he comes out, I look around to find a store I like.
"I was planning on getting something for myself, is that okay?" I ask them, pointing to the other side.
"Yeah, sure." Carter replies. "I need to get something for my laptop, uh, Sarah, wanna come?"
Sarah looks at me and then at Wes, before answering.
"Yeah." She nervously says and mouths a 'sorry' in my way. I am confused when they leave, but Wes pulls me towards the store I pointed at.
"Don't question it." He says while I try to follow his long steps.
"What? What's going on? I need her advice." I whine and I can hear Wes scoff, shaking his head. I don't really need him to be around me while shopping. I don't really need to be around him at all.
"They need to talk."
"About what? Are they dating?" My mouth falls open at the thought if that.
"No, but -" He stops when we enter. The girls push past us, multiple hangers and items thrown over their hands. It's chaos, but it's a refreshing chaos.
"They're exes." Wes tells me and I almost scream.
"What?!"
"Look, they used to date, and Carter wants to be with her again, but it's really hard because they don't get much time alone and they don't want others to know. Which is why you can't tell anyone." He threatens.
"I won't. But why did they break up?"
"Sarah's dad is an idiot. And I'm not even overexaggerating. He was against it all and Carter eventually broke down. But I think he's ready for it now, which is why he wants to try again." Wes answers my question as we walk through the store with me looking through the various items to choose from.
"Does she?" I ask, fully interested in this new found information.
"She loves him. She told me that herself."
"Wow." I react. It's a shock to hear about someone's past relationship, mostly because I never thought of the two of them together.
"This is cool." Wes stops mid track and takes out a silver dress. It looks flowy and the material looks comfortable, but the shade is not what I'm into.
"Eh." I shrug, but he tilts his head, fully taking out the hanger that the dress is on.
"You have to try."
"I don't think so." I reply, moving to look for something else.
"It will look good on you." He says and I scoff at that. Since when did he start caring about what I wear?
"The color is ugly." I comment, but he places his hand on my shoulder and spins me around. He forces the dress in my hands and points to the dressing rooms.
"Are you serious?"
"Dead." He smirks and pushes me to walk ahead of him. I roll my eyes at this situation.
I find an empty changing room and enter it. Wes leans on the opposite wall and nods at me before I pull the curtains. I never liked the curtains, they make me feel exposed, even though I know nobody can see through them.
I slip the silver material up my legs, but once it reaches my butt, I find it hard to pull it over. Wes must've taken a smaller size, which I'm not. Being too lazy to go and grab a bigger size, I try harder and manage to pull it over. It's still flowy and hugs my body well. I'm in the moment of pulling my second hand through the straps when my curtain is pulled aside and Wes enters. I gasp loudly and spin to face him, rushing to pull my hand through the strap.
"What the hell are you -"
"Shh." He whispers, smirking down at me. He has closed the curtain behind him when he fully entered. "I just wanted to see."
I can't even begin to explain the tension that fills the small space that we're in. I want to scold him, throw him out and curse at him, but my eyes are glued to his and I can't find my voice at all. He gently places his hands on my waist and looks down at my body. I have no idea what's going on and how we even got to here, but I do know that my heart is literally pounding.
The hairs on my arms raise when he slowly starts running his hands down, following my every curve. Once he reaches the small of my back, he looks up, meeting his oceans with my eyes. I've never liked the way he uses his eyes, because they can be so hypnotizing with that light sparkle in them.
I stay silent as he pushes on my back, pulling me extremely, almost dangerously close, so close that I can feel his breath on my lips. His eyes pierce through mine, not blinking once. He lowers his head into my neck, and just like yesterday morning, he starts leaving warm and peppered kisses. And this time, despite all my thoughts being a mess, I give in, closing my eyes at the contact.
He definitely notices, because he pulls me closer. And as my front collides with his, I am able to feel the bulge growing in his pants. I open my eyes for a second, not beileving that this is actually him. That is when he raises his head and meets my eyes and that is also when extreme panic raises in me.
A single bell coming from my phone makes us both stop panting. He looks behind me, where my IPhone is places on the little stool. Without waiting, I grab it and open the messages, avoiding Wes's look.
Hailey
Grab us something to eat.
I don't know what to say or do and my whole body is frozen. I raise my head and try to find words to form a sentence.
"I have to change."
Unfortunately, this doesn't go as planned, as the boy in front of me simply leans on the wall to his right and crosses his hands over his chest.
"So change." He shrugs.
"You have to leave." I say, but his stubbornness seems to get the most of him.
"Why?" He raises a brow and by now he's getting on my nerves. When I go to answer he turns me around to face the mirror and looks down at my neck, which is now filled with small purple marks.
I widen my eyes and extend my neck more, to see how many of them are there.
"Why would you do that?" I whisper, but I know he can hear me, because he actually gives me an answer when I look at him, just as he's about to open the curtain.
"That guy from the club won't even think about getting you now."
