The Last Of The Real Ones ~ Fall Out Boy

——————————————————

"Tell me again why I agreed to do this" Amy moans at me as I try to lower her from the window in my room. Amy's hands were intertwined with mine as I lowered her down, clutching on for her life.

"Oh wait, I didn't...." She continues to mumble to herself as she reaches just above my front garden.

"I'd totally drop her if I was you." Em jokes, causing me to chuckle lightly. For a second I thought about it, but it would've been a really horrible thing to do, and I'd never intentionally hurt someone that I loved.

I was lowering her down by the hands because for my age I was pretty strong. I was also quite tall, Easily hitting 5"11. While Em was 5"7 and little Amy was 5"1 and a half. Emphasis on a half, apparently it made her feel better about being short.

My dark hair was hitting Amy in the face because it was so long and she didn't look happy about it one bit. She had her bottom lip slouched out and was making strange faces as my black hair seemed to enter her mouth at moments. I should've tied it up beforehand.

Well, this went according to plan.

"Amy...I'm going to have to drop you a decent distance." I'm forced to announce, immediately hearing Em's snickers from behind me.

"Dont. You. Dare." She replies, looking up at me with her big green eyes.

"Yeah, you're at the lowest I can get you...I can't lower you anymore." I found myself laughing slightly at the fact that she was just dangling outside my window, holding onto me as tightly as she could.

"Don't you dare drop me!" Amy shouts up at me and Em, I felt so terrible, I didn't have a choice.

Imagine this, if she was the same height as me she wouldn't have as far to drop...but she was relatively small and I couldn't exactly pull her back up. That would be no fun.

Without even thinking, I loose my grip on her hands and she tumbles down what must've only been a metre. Abruptly she falls onto her legs but takes such a impact that she falls backwards onto her back, landing on my overgrown grass.

"Yo! You dead?" Em asks her, laughing like a child, all of us had one cup of alcohol too much.

Amy looks at me with her green eyes as her ginger hair scatters around her face. I can't help it laugh, softly at first, but it quickly becomes very thunderous as her whole chest rises quickly and her head whips backwards to deal with how heavily she was laughing.

"You're such a bitch." She mumbles between her laughter, rolling around in the grass.

Em then pushes me out of view to respond to her hilarious comment.

"Love you too!" She wheezes, causing me to giggle aswell at their meaningless comments to each other. We all would occasionally call each other the stupidity of names, but none of us would take it too seriously.

"Amy? Can you like...move though?" Em shouts at her from the window, her uncaring facade being dropped.

"Yeah, I'm good!" She shouts up, "just enjoying the view!" She continues, following it with a solid thumbs up.

"How kind of you!" I yell back down to her, wondering if she would pick up on what I meant.

Then again it was Amy, she probably didn't even know which planet we were on.

"Oh wait, I see two bitches in the way of it. That's a shame it's ruined now." Amy cheekily responds, bringing her hands to her face to imitate crying.

"Girl, I will beat your ginger ass!" Em laughs at her. Now climbing out of the window and jumping from it unexpectedly, not even seeming to think about it as she landed roughly on her legs.

"C'mon Cece!" She dares me, causing me to worry about her sanity altogether.

"Yeah! Maybe you'll fall and break both legs!" Amy continued, still lying completly on her back on the grass. She then began to try and make a sort of grass-angel? I swore she was crazy or drunk, perhaps both.

"Fine, I will." I joke, climbing out of the window. But as I stood perched against it, my brain told me that it was too high.

Again, Emmaline shout on me to jump, taunting me with her eyes. She tilts her head interesting in what I'm going to do. A million seconds pass by as my heart pumps loudly in my chest, the more I stayed here the more scared I got.

Suddenly, it was if another force altogether took over me, and I felt though I was throwing myself from the small ledge even when I hadn't given my body permission to do so. I watched as the ground got closer and I prepared for injury as I shut my eyes.

Nothing.

I open my eyes to see grass in front of me, aswell as Em and a now standing Amy. The smile on Ems face said it all, but it was like there was a deeper meaning behind it.

My legs were on the ground, completly fine. No injury, no pain. To say I was confused was an understatement.

"Nice jump,"Em pats me on the back with a smile, "I'm proud of you." She states before starting to walk away to across the  road to my new neighbours house.

Amy was laughing now, obviously she found something amusing.

"Why the heck didn't we just walk downstairs and go out the door." She sighs, pointing over at it. "It's not like your mom would have stopped us, she's just watching TV."

We all burst out laughing at how stupid it sounded.

"We are the weirdest friends ever." I point out, smiling at both idiots in front of me. We begin walking together to the house across the street where the 'new boy' lived. And due to the caul de sac arrangement of the houses there was very limited traffic.

My house was at the very end of the street, with the start of the forest reminding me permanently that I was trapped here. I glance as the abandoned pavement is run down and disappears of into the darkness under the trees. Thinking about why could be out there gives me chills.

My glance turns back to the house across from mines and all hairs stand up. Looking down from the first floor window was a figure, watching me behind a black hood.

It was him, I just knew it was, and as if he lost interest, he shut over the black curtains that were in front of him, causing me to loose all view of him.

"You coming Cece?" Amy asks, stopping just at the kirb to wait on me beside the sidewalk.

"Yeah, sure of course." I must've whispered to her, not looking at Amy but at the empty window in which he was previously standing at.

Why was he watching me?

Out of every boy I'd ever met, none seemed as strange and mysterious as this one. He intrigued me, and almost scared me. Were all boys out of DarkFall like this? Maybe, I was naive when it came to my knowledge of boys, it was a small town with a small young generation. .

He seemed interesting, and in this town that was new to me.

It wasn't an attraction I was feeling, it was something much more powerful, something much deeper than that. Every hair on my arms defied gravity at a single thought of him, it was as if time stood still, as though it was repeating itself. I knew I had to stop thinking about him, I had a boyfriend after all, and I haven't even been in the same room as him.

Very quickly, I stroll across the road with my two friends, arriving at the nice dark, brown door that was before me. Smiling, I take into account the small flakes of gold that seemed to incase it. Something I'd never noticed the last time I was here.

"You gonna knock or what?" Amy prods with a smile on her face,"you did just make us climb out of a window for this."

"Let's do this..." I speak with confidence, even though I wasn't feeling it. Silently, I swallow hard and pressed my hand to the door as my heart thunders in my chest.

The wooden door creates a large noise as my hand makes contact with it, louder than I had initially intended. Instantly, I regret even being born, my stomach punishing me with cringe. I haven't even met them that and they must've considered me a fool.

"Think they heard?" I ask my friends nervously, waiting for a sign of life to appear from inside the house. I already knew there was, I'd just seen the new boy several seconds ago.

"Honey, the whole street heard that." Em answers honestly, raising her dark eyebrows and chuckling slightly. As the time dragged on, I could feel my hands begin to shake. Why was I so nervous?

Em notices, and gently grabs my hand so that I stop.

We all became quiet as we hear footsteps reach the door. Slowly, it opens, and a tall woman sticks her head around it with a shocker smile.

She greets Amy with a smile on first contact, but her expression completely freezes when she notices Em and myself. Her eyes jump between us as she stands bewildered and speechless.

"Umm..." She hesitates, running her hands through her light-brown hair, her unique blue eyes shinning. Her eyes began to wonder as she slowly opens and shuts her mouth.

"Nevermind.." She speaks politely, flashing a smile at me as she regains her composure. I could feel things quickly becoming awkward so I spoke instead.

"Hi there, I'm Cecelia." I begin, trying to think of anything that would start a decent conversation.

"I live directly across the street, I thought I'd introduce myself since you're moving in across from us." I flash a bright smile as I point at my house. As she looks behind me with a smile, I close my eyes and damn the fact I didn't mow the grass.

Great first impression Ce, well done.

"Lovely to meet you Cecelia, I'm Rose and this is my husband Aidon." She speaks with a slight accent. A very tall man reaches the door, he must've been about 6"3 and his large shoulders made him much wider. He was incredibly intimidating, but all fear vanished as he smiled warmly at us with his bright eyes and expression.

He reminding me of a soft teddy, but I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him.

He had reasonably short black hair, the exact same colour as his sons. Or what I guessed was his son's since they obviously had the same good looking genes.

He spoke softly as he introduced himself, he had large soft brown looking eyes and seemed friendly enough. He held himself in way which showed confidence but not arrogance.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Aidon." The tall man spoke, holding out a hand for me to shake. He had another distinct accent, clearly they had moved a long way.

"Sorry, I'm being rude." I began, forgetting about my friends by my side. "This is Emmaline and Amelia." I respond to the couple in front of me.

"Hi!" Amy almost squeaks at them, causing them to chuckle lightly. She resembled a small ginger kid of some sorts, always happy and excitable.

"Nice to meet you both." Aidon laughs, smiling at both of my friends and then looking down at his wife who was flashing him an strange smile while looking at me.

"We have someone we think would quite like to meet you."

Thanks for reading! Sorry for any confusing moments I've been trying to get as much of this down as possible so far.

This is roughly the size I want my chapters to be, if you want them longer I can do that, I'm trying to write everyday at the moment since I'm on holiday.
