Seven nation Army - Glitch Mob Remix
Hunters POV
ââââââââââââââââ
I continue running through the woods until I feel like my legs are going to snap, I'm completely out of breath and I place my hands on my knees as I drastically gasp for air.
My lungs feel like they're going to collapse in my chest and my heart feels like it's going to pop out of my rib cage. Not like it already feels like it's been stabbed repeatedly since Cece went missing. Since I was responsible for loosing her....
I'd managed to find myself on rogue territory roughly 100 miles north of Darkfall. The dreaded town my parents had made us move from England in search of a princess who didn't even know about the world she was destined to rule.
She was just an innocent teenager who was destined to make stupid mistakes so she could learn from them. I remember the second I laid eyes on her from her window, the feeling that entered my chest and completely evolved around my body.
She was mine, she was always meant to be mine.
But it was never going to work, so being being the genius I was. I tried to push her as far away from me as possible. It would only end in tears and two broken hearts, but here we were anyways.
I continued walking once again, careful not to trip over an old tree trunk. If I was correct, my parents wouldn't be too far behind me. I knew I was stupid, but they would come to fight beside me anyways...no matter what.
They had practically already brought Cecelia into the family, it wasn't perfect...it never could be. But it worked.
Emmaline however was a mess, she'd been cut off from the other side which meant she lost all of her powers. She was half-dead, half-undead. And once the side of her that was dead disappeared, she became fully mortal, and the other side was closed off from her.
She never told us, but she did have a family.
All that time ago before she was reincarnated to look after Cece, she was married and even had two kids with him after Cecilinda was killed by Catori.
It didn't take long, Catori found Em...and slaughtered her entire family before it had properly begun. Her youngest son escaped, and continued the line of guardians until the last century where they were killed off.
Her family was always around her, she could've stepped Into the other side whenever she pleased to see them and comfort them when they needed her. Em told us that they would never leave her side. And although she still cannot see, nor feel them, they are there.
My wolf suddenly purrs as for what seems a second, he can smell Cece.
We both take off in the direction of her scent and once again pain fills my lungs...but every second of that pain is worth it. Cece's worth it.

"Well crap...this ain't good." Jay murmurs under his breath. "She took a sh*t ton of your soul and now you're struggling with your memories."
"W-whys that!" I shouted at him, now panicking about loosing all of my memories until I ended up in a big black hole. Exactly like my father did.
It wasn't loosing a mate that drove him mad, he was stronger than that. Catori took every little bit of life he had left in him and used to to feed herself. That's what drove him insane.
"Cece...your life force isn't just what keeps you alive, it's what makes you, you. Memories, feelings, pain...these are all apart of your life and it's what she takes every time she gets to you. It's what drives you insane as there's nothing left in the end."
I remained quiet after Jay had finished that sentence. I didn't have anything more to say,
"What do you actually remember Ce?" Jay asked me, and I thought really hard about how to answer it.
"I remember my mom...I remember my best friends Amy and Em....I remember my Ex-boyfriend Ashton...and I can't think back any further about anyone else that's important. I do remember you though...." I paused, not knowing if I should mention his mate or not and the fact that I remembered that she used to be in my cage...until she was murdered.
"Cece, I wish I could tell you more about your life, but I barely know anything about it anyways...but you have a mate and he's coming for you because he loves you. Even if you don't remember." Jay then placed his hand through the hole in the cage and placed it on top of mine, comforting me in a sort of way.
"Well I mean I hope he loves you or else he's gonna get a kick to the b-" I cut Jay off as I cleared my voice. He tried to hide a grin in the dark shadows.
If this so-called-Hunter was coming for me, maybe when I saw him I could remember him. I'd hoped I would remember him.
Jay then again spoke, softly and fluently.
"Cece...do you know who Catori and Cecilinda are?" He paused, sounding like he was going to continue but didn't. I had to think for a good second before answering him, twiddling my thumbs as I did so.
"Cecilinda..." The name sounded very familiar and then suddenly snapped in my head. "I remember her! She was the first wolf was she not?"
Jay just stared at me, a large frown on his face as he sighed and looked away from me. I still hadn't seen his face, just glimpses of it and shadows. My eyesight was good, I didn't say it was amazing.
From what I could tell, he had lightish-hair, was literally a giant from when he stood up and almost got himself killed.
"Cece, do you remember the plan on getting us out of here?" He suddenly asked, his head quickly turning back into my direction as he required an urgent answer.
"Yeah?......no not really." I admitted, shaking my head silently as a emotionless sigh was released from my chest. The cold air leaving my mouth and appearing as a small cloud as it disappeared in the cold air.
Jay was silent for a second and than began explaining the 'new' plan and what was going to happen and how it was going to happen.
He began by explaining that since he felt energetic, he would grab the guards attention and while they were distracted I would attack the gate to my cage with everything I had.
I would run in whatever direction felt right-hopefully picking up my so-called-'mate's' scent on my way out. From there I would then try to get help, seeking out anyone I came across. Mortal or not.
It would be then...that I would get my revenge, it would be then - that I watched the place rise up in smoke and ashes. Slowly retreating back to the ground and laying just above the white, delicate snow. A pitiful contrast...the beautiful innocent snow, ruined by the remains of pain, death and destruction.
The plan would unfold once the sips of water and small pieces of raw meat were handed out. Maybe we were animals, maybe we weren't. That didn't mean we had to be treated like one by being fed raw meat. It was disgusting, but it was all we had over the past few weeks....and Winter was now upon us as we all grew tired and cold.
As I lay on the frozen floor, my teeth shattering and my arms shaking as shivers fell down my spine. I knew I would have to fight for my energy - which meant it was time to lay down and shut my eyes, letting whatever imagination I had in me take over.
It was hard but I managed to slip in the vast darkness of unconsciousness, not sure if I was entering my head...or death.
*****
"Cece...wake up," A soft voice called on me as an arm shook me slightly, trying to obviously wake me. It took me a brief second to figure out who it belonged too. I propped myself up, careful not to put any weight on my slowly healing arms.
"It's time...." The soft words were muttered out of his lips, and I nodded slowly in understanding, the plan was set - now it was going to happen for real.
I watched as Jay stood up in his cage, his large shadow showing even though he must've been just skin and bone. He took a step forward as began shouting as loudly as he could at two rogues that were clearly on guard duty.
One looked fairly young, similar in age to me. He had long hair with curled slightly at the end and dark brown eyes which just honestly - looked really lost and scared. It almost made him more human than anything. The other was an older woman that had half a head of hair, traces of blood on what was left of her clothes. What hair she had left was streaky and blonde, it was disgusting...but then I hadn't had time to brush up my appearance much lately either.
"HEY *SSHOLES, COME GET A PIECE OF THIS." Jay shouted at them, and I couldn't help but snicker at their reactions to someone trying to egg them on again. Afterall, they did witness what happened last time.
The half-bald girl walked over with a smirk on her face as she stopped in front of Jay's Cell, crossing her arms and leaning towards it. Not showing any signs of fear at all.
Dammit.
"Well hello there gorgeous...." She purred at him, which seriously got on my nerves at this point.
Jay wasn't giving in and held his ground, firing back just as quickly as I decided now was the time to stand up and get ready.
Jay smiled at her as he responded, "b*tch, shut your damn mouth before I take another handful of that blonde hair from your scrawny little head." After that, it was like a switch has snapped and the blonde was right where Jay needed her.
She took a step forward to Jay's cage so that she was within arms length of grabbing. Jay continued to rile her up as she unknowingly got closer and closer. Jay looked at me and nodded, which was my signal to move as far back in my cage as I could until he gave me the final signal which I prepared for.
In one quick move Jay grabbed the blonde harshly, pulling her towards him as she hit the cage. Jay then shouted "NOW" as I ran with every once of energy I had towards the door to my gate. Ramming all of my body and weight into it as Jay had the blonde woman pinned against the cage. The other boy however laughed at this, and even went as far as to flash a smile.
As my body made contact with the door, it opened - and I looked over at Jay in disbelief. Now everyone else in cages were shouting and screaming to be saved.
I only saw him mouth the words run before I took off, running in whatever direction I could. The blonde and the young boy were both chasing me once she had escaped Jays grip. They were trying to keep up with my every step. They were fast, I was faster...even when it hurt and I felt like I was going to collapse.
I found a small crack in a wall at the end of a long doorway and threw myself into it, staying silent and watching as the two rogues ran in front of me and into the darkness. A silent but deadly voice rang out as the entire compound shushed.
Catori, and she sounded pissed.
Maybe it was just my luck, but directly across from where I was hiding was a set of keys that was pinned on the wall. It was a complete guess, but I was thinking that these were the keys to every single cage in this hole. They did match up with the ones the rogues used when dragging someone out of their cage.
A smile appeared on my face as I slowly made my way towards them, reaching out with my left hand an slowly and carefully removing them. Trying not to create too much noice or else they would find me. The sound seemed to echo in here.
I started running back down the corridor in the direction of the cages. My eyes still adjusting to the dark.
As soon as I reached the cages again, everyone began shouting - which immediately drew attention back to where I was. Without thinking I began opening cages everywhere, not stopping or looking to see who was inside. Once I reached the little girl she immediately ran towards me, throwing her arms around me in a violent hug. It warmed my cold heart as she whispered a quiet thank you and began running in the direction as everyone else.
When I reached Jay he was extremely frustrated with me, I did sorta not follow the plan. But when I flashed him a smile, I could tell he wasn't really that angry but instead relieved.
I opened the cage and threw my arms around him to give him a big hug. I still could barely see him and when I hugged him he was skin and bone.
I suddenly started sinking under my own weight when a sharp object entered my back.
Panicking, I grabbed a hold of Jay's hand and gave him every spare bit of energy I had left. collapsing into his arms as he began shouting on me.
I don't know how many times I'd collapsed in the last few weeks of being trapped underground. It was cold, dark and depressing in every sort of way. Yes I'd made a friend, but seeing that friend in pain was both a blessing and a curse.
And as the cold winter air hit me for the first time, I didn't get goosebumps from the chills. I got them from excitement.
The excitement of being free. Freedom, at last.
