Chapter 35 Could She Be Embarrassed In less than two minutes, Aurelia came back out of the bedroom.
She held a bag from a convenience store in her hand.
For a moment, Matthew couldnât understand what she was doing.
âThere are a few packets of tea in here. I prepared them according to ancient recipes. Theyâre beneficial for sleep. I didnât make a lot, so make do with this first.â
Aurelia handed the bag to him.
She read many books at Hannaliâs house and could prepare some traditional remedies. The medicinal foot soak Mabel used previously was her handiwork, and it was very beneficial to the body.
âThis is also tea?â Matthew took it. A faint herbal fragrance wafted out of the bag.
She stopped me just to give me some tea?
âDifferent teas serve different purposes. This tea I prepared improves sleep, and you probably wonât be able to find it outside. Itâs late, so Iâll head to bed first. Goodnight, Mr. Quigley,â After saying that, Aurelia returned to her bedroom.
She genuinely felt a bit tired.
Of course, her words were no exaggeration. Hannah once said that the ancient books were almost all unique, unavailable for purchase outside. Naturally, no one would have seen them.
Matthewâs eyes darkened slightly.
She still hasnât asked me for help. Could she be embarrassed, thus gifting me some things first?
With the bag in hand, he also went into his bedroom.
Half an hour later, Matthew emerged from his bedroom, holding a herbal tea bag. He went downstairs and proceeded to brew another cup of tea.
Soon, a waft of herbal fragrance drifted into the air. It was not too overpowering, unlike the traditional medicine that was potent to the extent that a mere whiff would make one frown.
âWould it work?â Matthew wondered softly, a hint of doubt in his voice.
He then recalled her massage techniques.
Hopefully, like her massage techniques itâs effective in aiding sleep. In fact, itâll suffice if it has a minimal effect as any other herbal tea. If it really works, Iâll help her this once for the sake of these herbal tea bags and Grandma.
The cup of hot tea gradually finished.
Matthew went back upstairs and returned to his bedroom.
He wasnât sure if it was psychological, but the moment he lay in bed, his agitation from insomnia seemed, to have lessened significantly.
Chapter 35 Could She Be Embarrassed So, it works?
At six oâclock the following morning, Aurelia woke up.
She looked through the comments about her matter on the internet..
After a night of fermentation, coupled with the fueling efforts of the Leedon familyâs PR team and ghostwriters, the tide had turned entirely. Everyone was urging her to make a public apology.
As she was about to edit the video to post on her Twitter and other accounts, a voice message from Chad popped up on her phone.
âAurelia, Aurelia, have you checked Twitter yet? It seems that the Leedon familyâs PR team has made a move against you!
Melanie turns out to be from the Leedon family. This matter has blown up, but donât be scared just yet, Aurelia. Iâll help you figure out a solution! This despicable couple really has no shame. Not only are they unreasonably refusing to admit their affair, but theyâre even slandering you!â
After listening to the voice message, Aurelia replied that she was not afraid and began to edit the videos and posts to upload on social media.
Meanwhile, Chad let out a string of curses after sending the voice message.
Smack! Smack! Smack!
Someone sÃmacked the back of his head several times in succession.
Chad cried out in pain and turned to look at his grandfather, who had hit him. âGrandpa!â
âItâs still early morning, and your mouth is already foul. Your parents arenât in Jacaster now, so Iâll discipline you properly!â
Norman huffed, putting on an exceedingly stern face.
Chad wailed in pain repeatedly. âI am your only grandson. If you beat me senseless, itâs you who will be heartbroken! I didnât curse on purpose. Itâs just that someone is bullying Aurelia, and I couldnât stand watching it.â
âAurelia? Is she the young lady you mentioned a couple of days ago, the one who can restore antiques?â Norman was accustomed to Chadâs pretentiousness and didnât take it too seriously.
âYes, itâs her. Grandpa, let me tell you thisâI think she might be even more formidable than you!â Chad felt he was not exaggerating at all. David had said that he had met many restoration experts, and each appeared quite arrogant, but their skills were just ordinary once they got down to it, no match for Aurelia.
David had once asked about her master, but Aurelia merely replied that she learned from an old granny while in the countryside.
Norman didnât take Chad seriously/since the latter had always been wild. Few people around him were genuinely diligent and committed to work. His praises were also often entirely based on personal preference.
Morcover, the fact that someone so young could be better than many seasoned restoration experts in the industry was hard to believe, especially coming from his grandson.
He waved his hand dismissively. âOff you go. Donât be an eyesore here.â
âGrandpa, Iâve been getting up early every day to run ten kilometers to catch the bus that my legs have 2/4 become so beefy. Could you find it in your heart to sympathize with me and give me back the car keys?â Chad seized the opportunity to plead with Norman.
Norman didnât even bat an eyelash âHurry up and get lost.â
Worried about getting hit again, Chad made a hasty retreat.
At the Leedon residence, Melanie was not in the habit of waking up early.
But with the situation online in mind, she set an alarm to wake up early in the morning.
She was worried that Aurelia might actually have other evidence in her possession.
However, the current situation was entirely under the control of the Leedon family. They had the most professional PR team and legal team, so dealing with Aurelia would definitely be a breeze.
Nonetheless, she and Curtis were indeed become having an affair, leaving her inevitably uneasy.
At that moment, Curtis was still hesitant about something or other. He still hadnât done as she instructed.
Melanie made a call to Curtis.
âWhy havenât you posted on Twitter yet? As long as you deny our relationship, this matter can be put to rest,â Melanie questioned.
Curtis had stayed up the entire night, constantly staring at his phone, waiting for Aurelia to return his call.
Unexpectedly, he did not receive a call from Aurelia until then but got a call from Melanie instead.
âThe company has also learned about this matter. They told me to refrain from going to work for the time being. Thereâs a chance that I might lose my job because of this. I canât simply post a repudiation on Twitter. I need to see what Aurelia will do next. She has always loved me to the core, so she would never truly drive me to ruin.â
Even then, Curtis still believed that there was room for reconciliation between him and Aurelia.
As long as he wasnât caught in bed with Melanie, he could make Aurelia believe in him again.
Melanie was struck speechless. âThis has nothing to do with you posting on Twitter. Doesnât she listen to you in everything?
Once this matter is over, you can just figure out a way to appease her. Do you want to see my reputation ruined?â
Curtis indeed couldnât bear to see Melanie suffering any grievance. âWell... all right, then.â
Actually, Melanie is right. I can just coax Aurelia again later. After all, sheâs easy to appease and very agreeable.
Aurelia stared at the Twitter post that had failed to send. She checked her other accounts and found the very same thing. None of the posts succeeded in uploading.
She had been reported, her speech restricted.
Her expression turned somber.
Theyâre resorting to all sorts of despicable tactics just to back me into a corner.â
Chapter 35 Could She Be Embarrassed.
Aurelia took a deep breath, Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a call from her brother, Xavier.
âAuri, why havenât you posted the videos yet?â Xavier asked.
Aurelia told him that her account had been suspended, and she could not post anything temporarily.
Xavier fell into silence, his brows furrowing deeply.
