Chapter 186 Not As She Had Imagined Aurelia didn’t feel much like eating and made up an excuse. “An old college friend found out I was here and invited me to catch up. I’ll head over there right away. You guys go ahead and eat.”

The hospital room fell silent once again, leaving Zoe without a chance to speak.

Matthew seemed as indifferent as ever to everything around him, but it was clear that he had. been watching Aurelia all along.

She decided to devote her afternoon to the beach and the seaside.

She was set to leave the next day. Within just a few days, she had grown fond of Kenfort and found it difficult to part ways.

As dish after dish was served, Aurelia was eating while purposefully ignoring the confusing thoughts that were clouding her mind.

Thymion cuisine wasn’t half bad. She hadn’t eaten it often before, and she vaguely recalled Nancy taking her there once.

After lunch, Matthew had to return to the hotel as he indeed had a video conference to attend. Meanwhile, Aurelia headed to the beach near the hotel.

By evening, Aurelia received a message from Matthew. He wouldn’t be joining her for dinner as initially planned. There had been a sudden change in Zoe’s condition, which necessitated another surgery. Consequently, he had to rush to the hospital.

After dinner, Aurelia visited the pedestrian street she had been to before. There were numerous snacks available, and she leisurely strolled and nibbled her way through, checking in at various spots.

Around ten o’clock in the evening, she returned to the hotel, but Matthew had not yet come back.

She then tidied up her suitcase.

Perhaps Matthew wouldn’t accompany her to the airport tomorrow.

Around two in the morning, Matthew returned.

The sound of the door opening was very faint.

However, Aurelia never slept too deeply in the hotel, even the faintest noise would stir her awake.

She looked toward the door. “You’re back?”

“Did I wake you? Go back to sleep, I’ll go take a shower.” Matthew’s voice was slightly hushed, carrying a hint of tenderness in the late–night ambiance.

Aurelia responded with a hum, then comfortably flipped over and continued to sleep.

Roughly half an hour had passed when Matthew climbed into bed.

When he held Aurelia, he gently planted a kiss on her cheek.

Glancing at the time, Aaron said, “It’s three in the morning, let’s get some sleep. We have to go to the hospital tomorrow morning.”
