In the evening, Christopher Simonson returned home and was immediately called to the study by his father.
Christopherâs grandfather had served three terms as president, and although his father had not been president, he was one of the key members of the cabinet, just a step away from that position. Even though he had already stepped down, he could offer many valuable suggestions for Christopherâs campaign trail.
Father and son discussed the dayâs talk show in the study, where Old Master Simonson pointed out several things, âEveryone has children, education is a top priority for a country. Next time you encounter this kind of situation, you could expand on the topic a bit, bring up your views on education, and not get led by the hostâs pacing.â
Christopher nodded in agreement.
Caitlin Carter had the servants prepare tea and pastries to bring in.
After continuing their discussion for a while, Old Master Simonson told Christopher to go rest as there was an important speech awaiting him tomorrow.
Caitlin had already asked the servants to prepare hot water.
Christopher bathed and changed clothes, drank a cup of calming tea, and then went to bed to rest.
He felt exhausted but had trouble falling asleep, tossing and turning, and inadvertently let out a soft sigh.

âHave you been too tense lately?â Caitlin, noticing that her husband was not asleep, spoke softly, âShould we cut back on some of the upcoming campaign speeches?â
Christopher sighed and shook his head, âEvery speech is important, donât worry, itâs almost over now.â
âGet up,â Caitlin gently nudged him, âLet me massage your head for you.â
Christopher hummed in response, and Caitlin turned on the bedside lamp to gently massage his temples.
The couple sat on the bed, chatting intermittently.
Caitlin casually talked to Christopher, âThat most beautiful judicial examination candidate, Violet seems to really dislike her. I wonder if she had some conflict with her back in Clearwaterâ¦â
Mentioning Clearwater, Christopherâs eyes opened, and he inquired, âHas there been any feedback from the Graves Family?â
Caitlin replied, âMaster Graves highly values Gavin. If thereâs to be a marriage alliance, Gavin is the best choice. However, it seems they are somewhat concerned about Violetâs background, and the candidate they suggested is another young master of the Graves Family. You know, although we love her, outsiders are not privy to the details and still think of her only as our niece.â
âThe marriage alliance is just to solidify cooperation, itâs not a necessary move. This matter ultimately depends on Violetâs wishes; if she disagrees, we shouldnât push her.â Christopher was very open-minded about this.
âViolet hasnât said anything, Iâll ask her another dayâ¦â Caitlinâs movements paused, and she continued, âViolet mentioned a girl called Purple Summers who specializes in fighting lawsuits in Clearwater. I looked her up, and she really did manage to settle a few remarkable cases.â
âReally? That child can fight lawsuits?â Christopher smiled slightly, âNo wonder sheâs sitting the judicial examination at such a young age, formidable indeed.â
His curiosity piqued, he asked, âWhat kind of remarkable cases did she manage?â
Online, information about Purple Summers was very limited, but the case Violet Nelson mentioned about a sex worker suing a rich young man was a recent piece of sensational gossip that Caitlin had no trouble finding Prominence Law Firm.
Once she found Prominence Law Firm, she also found the headlines that Marcel Jefferson was involved in.
Seriel child murder cases, the mysterious death of a model, the haunted Peachwater Village⦠these cases had greatly enhanced the reputation of Prominence Law Firm.
âChristopher, I think⦠I want to try again for my younger brother,â Caitlin said hesitantly.
Upon hearing this, Christopher fell silent. After a moment, he took Caitlinâs hand and tried to comfort her, âCaitlin, I know you canât let go of this matter, but your brotherâs case is already concluded. He has confessed and is facing punishment. As long as he behaves well inside, there is a chance for a reduced sentence, and he will be out soon.â
âButâ¦â Caitlin started to say something but then stopped.
Christopher gently patted her hand, âSleep now, youâve also had a rough time these past days.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The light went out, and the room returned to darkness.
Lying in the darkness with her eyes open, Caitlin thought: If Prominence Law Firm really is that miraculous, they must be able to overturn my brotherâs case.
