Walking into the piano store, Purple Summers immediately spotted the second young master of the Graves Family, Gerald Graves.
Following the last kidnapping incident, he had been kept on a tight leash by Gavin Graves and stopped his days of debauchery. He gradually began to involve himself in the Graves Groupâs businesses.
Gavin apparently had intentions of cultivating his younger brother. Although Gerald was not very adept at it, at least he had a proper job now and wasnât as aimless as before.
Upon seeing Purple Summers, Gerald greeted her enthusiastically, âMs. Summers, are you here to buy a piano?â
âIâm accompanying a friend,â Purple responded with a smile.
âWhat a coincidence, Iâm also here with a friend.â Gerald nodded towards a woman nearby and lowered his voice slightly, âWe have an honored guest from Kingsley. My brother instructed me to take good care of her over these few days, to ensure the guest eats well and enjoys her stay.â
Purple couldnât help but laugh and said, âLeaving this task to the second young master seems like the right choice.â
When it came to pleasure, who could surpass Second Young Master Graves? It was clear Gavin was making full use of him.
Gerald also seemed quite proud and said with a smile, âIâll be celebrating my birthday next week. Remember to come and have fun, Ms. Summers.â
He glanced at the people behind Purple Summers and added, âBring your friends along at that time too; the more, the merrier!â
While talking, he took out several business cards from his pocket and distributed them to Ryan Wesley and the others.
âSaturday night at six, perfect timing, make sure to be there,â Gerald warmly invited Purple Summers and her friends.
Meanwhile, the woman who was selecting a guqin noticed Gerald chatting and came over with a gentle smile, asking, âSecond young master, your friends?â
Gerald introduced her, âThis is Purple Summers. I got into some legal trouble last time, and she helped me out. I am inviting them to join my birthday party next week.â
Then he introduced the woman to Purple Summers, âThis is Violet Nelson, her uncle is a senator. Violet just came over from Kingsley City and is looking to buy some gifts to take back.â
That introduction was rather intriguing.
Typically, when young men and women introduce each other, they mention which school they graduated from and might casually refer to famous parents if relevant. To bring up an uncle like this, there was only one possibility: Violet Nelsonâs uncle was not just a senator but also a core member of it.
Purple Summersâ gaze fell upon Violet Nelson before herâ
Her features were delicate and stunning, her dress simple yet graceful, and a gentle smile always played within her beautiful eyes. She seemed amiable, yet there was a certain distance in her demeanor.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
This distance lent her an air of aloofness, adding mystery and making her a stunning beauty to behold in awe.
As Purple Summers examined Violet, Violet was also sizing her up.
âMs. Summers seems quite young; itâs surprising that you could handle lawsuits,â Violet said with a hint of surprise in her serene smile, âClearwater really is a place full of capable people. If you come to Kingsley to develop your career, we might meet again.â
She praised Purple in a tone that was light but carried an imperceptible superiority, as if going to Kingsley was the greatest prospect for Purpleâs future, away from Clearwater.
The feeling was extremely subtle, barely noticeable if not listened to carefully.
Purple smiled. She didnât mind, as she wasnât close to this woman. What the other thought was none of her business.
Violet, on the other hand, was even more astonished. She thought to herself: How arrogant this girl is, not showing a hint of modesty. She must believe that being somewhat famous in Clearwater City makes her invincible without realizing that thereâs always someone better and that sooner or later, sheâll take a fall!
