[Chapter 2 merged with Chapter 1, so the price is double, sorry!]
Ryan Wesleyâs current look might not seem like much on someone else, but this is Ryan Wesley weâre talking about! The only guy in Grey International School who can make the uniform look hip-hop.
Whatâs with him today?
Purple Summers exclaimed, âIt looks like the new school has successfully transformed you.â
Cutting his hair short and changing clothes, she could understand, but what was with those glasses?
Purple Summers squinted her eyes and took a closer look. When she saw what they were, she couldnât help but roll her eyesâit was just a black frame with no lenses!
âOh my, what are you trying to do?â Jane McCain snatched away his glasses frame first and teased, âTrying to look like an intellectual?â
Ryan Wesley was slightly annoyed as he snatched them back. âIâm using these to complement my facial shape!â
Jane McCain said with a grin, âWell, not bad, you do look a bit more handsome with them on.â
Upon hearing this, Ryanâs face showed a smug expression.
His smugness was short-lived as Jane struck again, âBut why are you queuing for tickets? Donât you know you can buy them on your phone? Have you turned into a caveman after spending a few months in the mountains? Pffft hahahaâ¦â
Ryan felt embarrassed, touching his nose, âYou canât use cell phones in school⦠Theyâre confiscated as soon as you go in and only returned during vacations. Iâve completely forgotten about online ticket purchasing.â
Everyone laughed again.
When Ryan had finally bought the tickets, the four of them squeezed into Ocean World Park, giggling among themselves. Surrounded by elementary school students, they seemed to shed a few years off their age.
While visiting the penguin exhibit, Ryan squeezed next to Jane and Purple Summers and whispered, âDo me a favor, will you? Pretend to get lost for a while, okay? Iâll treat you to a meal later!â
Ryan was looking to create an opportunity to be alone with Zara Jameson.
Janeâs eyes flickered, disagreeing, âThatâs not okay, youâd be roping us into deceiving Zara!â
âDonât be like that, weâre friends. Help me out,â Ryan pleaded with a cheeky face.
Purple Summers also felt it wasnât right, âZara is our friend too. To deceive one friend for the sake of another⦠Doesnât seem proper, does it?â
Ryan seriously criticized them, âIs this how you act as sisters? Youâre hindering her happiness!â
Purple Summers and Jane snorted at this.
Ryan walked away sulkily and ran over to talk to Zara Jameson.
Purple Summers pulled Jane aside and asked in a low voice, âIs he serious?â
âOf course,â Jane also murmured, âHeâs been relentless! He insisted on going with us to Peachwater Village last time, planning on Zara from a long time ago. With such a short vacation, now that heâs finally back, of course heâs going to be proactive!â
âI thought he came back to catch up with us, but he was actually trying to pick up girls,â Purple Summers said disdainfully, âHeâs using us two as a front.â
If it werenât for the agreement with Jane and Purple Summers, would Zara have come out to meet? Clearly not.
âHuh?â Jane suddenly exclaimed in surprise, âWhere did they go?â
Purple Summers turned her head to look, and Ryan Wesley and Zara Jameson were nowhere to be seen!
âThat guy, he actually tricked Zara away!â Jane cursed angrily, âMen have no humanity when thereâs a woman involved!â
Purple Summers was speechless too and patted Janeâs shoulder, âCome on, letâs go look for them.â
The two of them searched all around the penguin exhibit and still didnât spot Ryan Wesley and Zara Jameson, feeling both angry and amused.
âLetâs just take a break,â Jane said helplessly, pulling Purple Summers over to a nearby bench to sit and rest.
âI canât believe he dares to leave us behind. Iâll have to show him how formidable I am,â Jane told Purple Summers, âLetâs introduce a boyfriend to Zara, to infuriate Ryan Wesley, how about that?â
Purple Summers laughed and gave her a light slap, âStop it! If Aunt Jameson finds out, weâre all doomed!â
âI know, I was just joking,â Jane sighed deeply, âI donât know what heâs after. Zara doesnât even like him, and yet he persists.â
Speaking of this, Purple Summers also found it strange.
Initially, she thought it amusing to see Jane McCain and Ryan Wesley bickering together and even considered them well-matched. Suddenly replacing Jane with Zara Jamesonâ¦it was somewhat hard to imagine.
The two of them really didnât appear to be cut from the same cloth.
Zara was the good girl from a literary family, with a father who was a diplomat, a mother who was a professor, and a brother who was a foreign language teacher. Her whole family was steeped in erudition.
Yet Ryan Wesley exuded an aura of a street hooligan from head to toe.
â¦Although his reformed image barely passed muster, in essence, he was still a person from a different world.
Most importantly, Zara showed no signs of harboring any special feelings for Ryan Wesley, and Purple thought that Ryanâs love life was probably going to be quite bumpy.
After sitting on the bench for a while, Purple and Jane received a call from Zara, who anxiously asked where they were.
Jane disclosed their location, and soon after, they saw Zara and Ryan return.
In their hands, they carried ice cream and huge cotton candy, along with some other snacks.
Zara said, âRyan and I went to get some food, and when we came back, we couldnât find you guys anywhere! Eat up quickly, the ice cream is about to melt!â
Jane and Purple exchanged glances and tacitly decided not to expose Ryanâs âscheme.â
Afterward, as if on purpose, Jane kept linking arms with Zara throughout, fending off Ryanâs attempts to get close, leading to the three girls strolling ahead while Ryan was relegated to carrying bags behind them.
Purple followed them, partaking in the fun, feeling both helpless and amused throughout the day, but it was, after all, the most relaxing day she had during the entire summer vacation.
They played until past three in the afternoon when Zara needed to leave early.
âMy violin was sent for repairs last week; I need to pick it up today, or else the music store will close,â Zara explained.
Ryan immediately volunteered, âIâll take you there.â
âYou donât even know the way!â Jane wouldnât let him gloat and pulled Zara to her side, âIâll go with Zara. I often visit that music store. Ryan, you take Purple home.â
Ryan said, âI can take Zara to the music store first, then drop Purple off at home. Itâs tough to hail a cab around here with all these people! Besides, didnât Zara say it? If weâre late, the store will close!â
He shamelessly refused to leave first.
In the end, the three girls climbed into Ryanâs Bumblebee sports car.
Purple joked, âRyan, why donât you also give your car a makeover? Right now, it clearly doesnât match your vibe.â
Ryan immediately asked, âZara, what kind of car do you like?â
Zara was taken aback by his question, ââ¦Huh?â
Jane teased, âWhy? Are you going to give her a car? Zaraâs favorite is the number one bronze chariot from Qin Shi Huangâs terracotta army, worth a hundred billion. Go buy it, buy it!â
Ryan said annoyed, âI wonât take you out to have fun next time!â
Purple smoothed things over by changing the subject, âI think a MINI is nice, suitable for girls. Zara, you can consider it once you get your driverâs license.â
âThatâs so tiny, whatâs the fun in that!â Jane egged Zara on, âBuy a Ferrari, a red one is so pretty!â
Zara turned to ask Purple, âWhat about you? What car do you plan to buy?â
Purple covered her mouth, laughing, âA pink⦠Hummer.â
The entire ride was filled with laughter as they discussed what kind of vehicles they wanted to buy one day; before they knew it, they had arrived at the music store.
As the group got out of the car, Jane couldnât help but laugh, pointing to something not far away and saying to Ryan, âRyan, that must be your brother, right?â
Ryan looked over, at a Bugatti Veyron styled exactly like Drift from the Transformers, just like his Bumblebee; both were custom models from the Transformers series.
In the whole of Clearwater City, the number of people who could afford such cars could be counted on both hands.
There must have been some important guest at the music store.
