Alexander Summers had a dream.
In the dream, there was a very long red carpet surrounded by foggy scenery, unclear to the sight. He walked continuously along the red carpet and finally, at the end of the carpet, he saw Purple Summers dressed in a white gown.
She stood there quietly, a sweet smile on her face, tender, beautiful, and a little shy.
Filled with ecstatic joy, Alexander strode forward, intending to take her hand.
However, at that moment, a man came from behind him, stepped in front, and was the first to take Purple Summersâs handâ
Alexander stood frozen in place; it was Nathaniel Summers!
Nathaniel held a wedding ring, slowly sliding it onto Purple Summersâs finger as they looked at each other and smiled.
â¦
Alexander suddenly sat up, instantly awake.
His face was pale, his back drenched in cold sweat, unable to believe that he had actually dreamed of Nathaniel Summers marrying Purple Summers!
The feeling was utterly terrible, and even though he knew it was false, he found it unbearable!
He got out of bed, grabbed the water cup from the nightstand and took a few sips, his heart still furiously pounding because of the panic from the dream.
For him, that dream was too horrifying!
He couldnât imagine the woman he was about to claim being snatched away by someone else.
Back when Nathaniel married Suzanne Saunders, he was reluctant, but still rational, since, at that time, she didnât have feelings for him.
But now, as they shared mutual affection, if someone else were to marry her now, Alexander would go mad!
Alexander glanced at the sky outside; the rain had stopped, and the hazy night seemed like a layer of silver frost covering the floor, cold and tranquil.
He couldnât sleep anymore, nor did he dare to.
Not wanting to dream that heart-stabbing scene again, he simply got out of bed and leaned by the window, smoking to ease his sorrow.
Purple Summers woke up in a daze, opened her eyes, and looked toward the tall figure by the window, her voice carrying a half-awake, lazy rasp, ââ¦Why arenât you sleeping?â
Alexander answered softly, âItâs nothing, go back to sleep.â
Purple slept in a drowsy state, not sure if she was in a dream or reality. She turned over, gathered the thin blanket around her, and muttered, âDidnât we agree to prepare for pregnancyâ¦â
Then there was no more sound, as if she had fallen asleep again.
Alexander couldnât help but smile, âYes, we are preparing for pregnancyâ¦â
The gloom at the bottom of his heart dispersed a bit, he put out the cigarette, returned to bed, and once again brought her into his embrace.
A sleepless night.
â¦
The next day, Alexander instructed Zack Wallace to send someone to find Nathaniel Summersâs whereabouts.
Zack felt it was quite sudden and couldnât help but ask an additional question, âMaster Xander, is the third young master planning something?â
Alexander shook his head slowly, a trace of annoyance between his brows.
Zack hesitated for a moment before saying, âIf this person went traveling to a big city, checking their credit card transaction records could yield results, but if he went to a remote place⦠itâs going to be very difficult to find out where he is.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âLetâs start with what we can find,â said Alexander.
Zack nodded, âIâll arrange for my people to handle it.â
Zack turned to leave, but halted at the door and came back.
âSir, about the last time you asked me to investigate Ms. Summersâs backgroundâ¦â
Alexander looked up at him, âWhat, do we have a lead?â
âIâm not sure if it counts as a leadâ¦â Zack seemed uncertain. He pulled out his phone, accessed a webpage, opened the profile of a man, and handed it to Alexander to see.
âWe still havenât found anything about Ms. Summersâs biological father, but with the presidential election coming up, I discovered this in the list of candidatesâ¦â
The webpage displayed the face of a man, around forty, with a deep, intelligent gaze and a refined, handsome appearance; features faintly resembling Purple Summers.
âI thought he looks quite similar to Ms. Summers, the age fits, and alsoâ¦â Zack pointed at the manâs name, âHeâs from the Simonson family. The man who eloped with Meredith Richards also had the surname Simonson, didnât he?⦠Though, it could just be a coincidence, the records show that twenty years ago, he was still serving in the military and couldnât have come to Clearwater.â
There are all kinds of oddities in this large world, and a similar appearance proves nothing.
