Gavin Graves is a few years older than Alexander Summers, yet the former is called âyoung master,â while the latter is styled âMaster Xander.â
Because only the family head could be referred to as âMaster.â
Although Alexanderâs power might be greater than Gavinâs, the Howard familyâs influence is vast, but their loyalties are scattered, with a few restless members constantly causing trouble for Alexander. The Graves Family, on the other hand, enjoys peaceful and obedient affections; Gavin commands immediate response in his house and is much more relaxed and comfortable than Alexander is.
Upon comparison, the two menâs power wasnât actually that different.
Gavinâs sudden visit surprised both Alexander and Purple Summers.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Purple instinctively set down her tableware and asked, âShould I excuse myself first?â
âExcuse yourself for what?â Alexander frowned, âDo I embarrass you that much?â
Purple glared at him, âIs this about embarrassment? Last time at the party, he suspected I was with you. Now, if he sees me here early in the morning, wouldnât that just confirm our relationship?â
âLet it be confirmed then, to stop him from coveting you,â Alexander said. âGo on, wear the diamond earrings I gave you last time.â
âStop kidding around, those are too valuable for me to carry around all the time,â Purple thought Alexander was being absurd again.
âBesides, Young Master Graves knows my identity. What if he connects the dots and finds out your real identity is actually the young master of the Summers Family? What then?â Purple was very cautious, saying, âEven if Young Master Graves doesnât think of that, if he spreads word about our relationship, would I have any way out? Your enemies would definitely murder me for revenge!â
With frightening thoughts, Purple nervously said, âIâm not as lucky as you. If I fell into Shark Bay or a viperâs nest, Iâd definitely be done for!â
âLittle imaginative head,â Alexander laughed as he tousled her hair. âDonât worry, if he dares speak, Iâll reveal all his dirty laundry.â
Purple paused, asking, âWhat kind of dirt could Young Master Graves have?â
This question sounded uncomfortable to Alexanderâs ears, and he retorted coldly, âDo you think heâs incapable of dirty deeds? Murder and arson, you think he hasnât committed them?â
Purple couldnât help but laugh, âHe really doesnât seem the type.â
Gavin didnât always have the fierce and fearsome appearance that Alexander did. In her memory, Gavin was always gentle and refined, graceful in manner. She seemed to have never even seen him angry.
But then again, to be the heir of the Graves Family, a friendly smile alone wouldnât be enough to hold the fort.
Alexander took the opportunity to caution her, âSo, steer clear of these two-faced people in the future! Donât get deceived!â
âMaster Xander has quite a unique way of welcoming guests,â said Gavin with a smile, following the servant inside and greeting them both, âEarly in the morning, and I hear you cursing me. Seems like my visit today is ill-timed.â
Alexander replied with a smile, âI was just praising you, on how well you play the gentleman.â
ââ¦â Purple forcefully stomped on his foot under the table!
She had never seen someone so shameless; getting caught talking behind someoneâs back and continuing to insult them to their face.
âMs. Summers, good morning,â said Gavin, greeting Purple.
âGood morning, Young Master Graves,â Purple responded.
Alexander took Purpleâs hand, intentionally placing it on the table, their red string bracelets shining conspicuously on their wrists.
Purple felt extremely awkward, wanting to withdraw her hand, but Alexander held on purposefully, refusing to let go.
Gavinâs peripheral vision swept over them, his eyes deep and restrained, his expression a calm and gentle smile.
âWhy did you come over so early?â Alexander asked Gavin.
âOn someoneâs behalf, I came to ask Ms. Summers a question,â Gavin replied.
