In the evening, Alexander Summers called Atra Blanc, and they chatted about the house for a while.
Atra Blanc stammered, âThe house is really nice, itâs just⦠the neighbors nearby are a bit too enthusiasticâ¦â
Purple Summers held back her laughter beside her, trying not to let the tears flow.
Atra Blanc, with her shy nature, was clearly overwhelmed by the enthusiastic language teacher.
But there was no helping it; teachers loved to buy houses near schools. They appreciated in value significantly, and it was convenient to go to school, so running into teachers and students was quite common if one were to buy a house in the vicinity of a school.
Alexander then said he would take care of the house matters and told Atra Blanc not to worry about it.
Afterwards, he told Atra Blanc some fibs to coax her into letting Purple Summers go see him.
Atra Blanc did not suspect a thing.
Purple Summers pretended to be oblivious, sitting dazed in the car as she headed to the Howard Family estate.
She still felt guilty and wondered when these days of sneaking around would ever come to an end.
â¦
By the time she arrived at the estate, the sky had completely darkened, and the dining room was lit by Italian style crystal chandeliers, the light bright and splendid.
Melodious music echoed around, accompanied by laughter, as if the room was filled with guests and toasts were being exchanged in a bustling scene.
When Purple Summers walked in, she found only three people there: Alexander Summers, Lily Howard, and Sarah.
Lily Howard and Sarah were dancing by the dining table, their moves not grand, but their laughter was loud.
Alexander Summers was drinking alone, looking rather troubled, but a smile appeared in his eyes when he saw Purple Summers enter.
âCome here.â Alexander walked over in a few strides, pulling Purple Summers over to his side. Heâd had enough of watching the two show off their affection.
The untouched food on the table made it obvious that they were all waiting for her.
Purple Summersâ gaze landed on Sarahâs belly, curiousâwas there already a Little Baby inside?
âShe just found out sheâs got two bars on the test and she couldnât be more proud,â Alexander said, âProbably only about two weeks old.â
Purple Summers asked, âIsnât it too early for her to fly?â
âHmm, Lilyâs planning to wait until after three months when Sarahâs condition is stable to return to France.â
Purple Summers found it all very strange, not having seen Sarah for a while only to find out she was now carrying a new life, and moreover, it was from the seed of Thirteenth Young Master Howardâ¦
Lily led Sarah over, smiling as they greeted Purple Summers. She was radiant, her face seemingly glowing, and her whole being was full of energy and joy.
Purple Summers didnât know whether to congratulate Lily on becoming a mom, a dad, or perhaps⦠an aunt?
âHow about the two of you, when are you planning to handle your matters?â Lily lifted her glass, smiling as she asked her and Alexander.
Purple Summers thought: Thatâs still a long way off.
Yet, Alexander said, âThis summer vacation.â
âWhat?â Purple Summers looked at him in surprise.
Alexander said, âItâs May now, and by the time Sarah is three months along, itâll be the August vacation period. We can go to France then to check out the future Howard heirâs residence, register our marriage, and have a honeymoon while weâre at it.â
As soon as Lily saw the bewildered expression on Purple Summersâ face, she realized she was completely unaware and burst into laughter, âRoy Howard, you are shameless! Purple hasnât agreed yet. If you want to marry, at least propose first!â
Then teasingly asked Purple Summers, âHe wants to marry you, do you agree or not?â
Purple Summers subconsciously shook her head. She wasnât prepared at all, how could she suddenly get married?! No, noâ¦
Alexander said, âAgree and we get married, disagree and Iâll push for a wedding, thereâs no difference.â
Lily laughed uncontrollably, lying over the table without any concern for her image, âPurple, how can you tolerate this guy⦠hahahahaâ¦â
Purple Summers silently sliced the steak on her plate; she too found it peculiar, how had she endured it?
Thinking about the mental journey of the past half a year, she found it rather bittersweet.
