Huo Yanhui sighed, then glanced over his shoulder, “Hey, the little sister-in-law didn’t come?”

“She doesn’t know. Don’t let it slip,” He Jingyao warned with a glance.

“Okay, I won’t say anything,” Huo Yanhui understood and nodded, “By the way! How did you get the little sister-in-law to agree? You got married without a peep! My brother and the others are clamoring for you to treat us!”

He Jingyao ignored him, his gaze rested briefly on the hospital room, “She won’t die, right?”

“Yeah, just lost too much blood,” Huo Yanhui said with a gossip-hungry face, “Speaking of which, weren’t you moved?”

He Jingyao gave him a look, as if beholding an idiot.

Huo Yanhui awkwardly touched his nose, “I just don’t understand, Xia Xinyu looks smart enough. Even if she did it for the position of the He Family’s Young Mistress, it makes no sense. Could you possibly divorce the little sister-in-law and then marry her? That’s unthinkable!”

He sighed, with added pity, “She was a fine lady, why bother…”

He Jingyao gave him a cold look, “Go call Xia Bangguo out.”

“I’m not your errand boy,” Huo Yanhui muttered, yet found himself involuntarily doing as told.

Before long, Xia Bangguo, looking haggard, came out. Seeing He Jingyao, he didn’t wear a pleasant expression either.

“Mr. He, such a trivial matter concerning my daughter has troubled you to come all this way,” Xia Bangguo said with a sarcastic tone.

“Lately, you’ve been vying for that plot of land on Qilles Road, haven’t you?” He Jingyao spoke calmly, “I could buy it and give it to you.”

Xia Bangguo was stunned, taking a full three seconds before realizing what He Jingyao had just said. His face became a picture of disbelief!

“I don’t care why she did it, whether she couldn’t take the hit or if she was using death as coercion,” He Jingyao hooked his lips into a smile devoid of any warmth, “But once I give this land, if anything untoward happens to her again, don’t push it onto me or my mother. If you agree, come to HI and find me anytime.”

Xia Bangguo was still in a daze… a plot of land, just handed to him, worth so much money… Xia Bangguo found it hard to catch his breath, his sorrow over his daughter’s near-death experience getting tossed aside in his mind!

“By the way, to avoid any more drastic actions from your daughter,” He Jingyao’s mocking smile echoed, “You better ask her, get her consent before coming to me.”

Xia Bangguo could only nod stupidly, returning to the ward like a lost soul.

Huo Yanhui couldn’t help but gasp, “Jingyao, you’re too generous! Do you know how valuable that land on Qilles Road is! You just lost several billion in a flash!”

He Jingyao suddenly curved his lips into a smirk, his eyes gleaming with faint mockery, “When have you ever seen me make a losing deal?”

Huo Yanhui was taken aback.

“I’m in a hurry, I’ll be going. Remember to tell my mother about this later, so she doesn’t feel guilty anymore,” He Jingyao said, then turned and left with the bodyguards following him down the corridor.

Huo Yanhui stared at his retreating figure in a daze, suddenly feeling a bit of sympathy for the Xia Family.
