Adrian Wright was startled when he heard the news and pondered for a while before speaking somewhat helplessly,
âI donât have much contact with Wallace Carter and his crowd. Let me ask my dad and see if he knows him.â
Greg Jensen thought for a moment and then said, âHow about this, donât bother making peace for the time being. Just find the Carter familyâs residence for me, and Iâll bring a gift and pay them a visit tonight.â
âThat sounds good.â
Hearing that Greg Jensen intended to apologize in person, Adrian Wright mused, âEven though there isnât a mediator to help reconcile, showing up in person immediately does show sincerity.
Wallace Carter is also starting to change his ways; he probably wonât make things worse.â
âYeah, there shouldnât be a problem,â Spencer Burley added.
Greg Jensen chuckled inwardly. If the two of them knew that he had crippled both of Winston Carterâs legs, they probably wouldnât be saying that.
The news that the Carter brothers had been beaten spread rapidly, and all the young, wealthy people in Jamae City were shocked.
âHave you heard? Wallace Carterâs son was beaten up.â
âDamn, whoâs got the guts to mess with Wallace Carterâs son?â
âI donât know, but I heard the surname is Jensen!â
âJensen? Heâs not from Jamae City, right? Iâve never heard of any big shot with the last name Jensen around here?â
âMust be some brash outsider.â
âWho cares. As long as itâs not our little rascal, itâs fine.â
âHaha, just wait, thereâs going to be a good show.â
Jamae City was tumultuous under the surface, everyone waiting for Wallace Carterâs retaliation, eager to see what would become of that audacious young man.
Inside Harrisonâs Home Cooking, Cindy Harrison was in the office doing the accounting.
Her aunt, Judy Lampe, was sitting by her side, chatting on the phone.
After an unknown amount of time, Cindy Harrisonâs face revealed a smile as she said, âWell, this monthâs performance is not bad, thanks for your hard work, Auntie.â
Judy Lampe hastily looked up, smiling ingratiatingly, âOf course, of course.â
After speaking, she hurriedly lowered her head and typed furiously on her phone.
A flicker of displeasure crossed Cindy Harrisonâs face as she casually asked, âWhatâs so funny about the chat?â
Judy Lampe anxiously looked up and said, âCindy, you canât tell anyone else what Iâm about to tell you.
Youâve heard of Wallace Carter, right? His son was beaten up, both of his legs were broken, it was terrible.â
âWallace Carter?â
Cindy Harrison said in shock, âThe Wallace Carter from Carter Security?â
âExactly, him,â Judy Lampe nodded.
Cindy Harrison said incredulously, âNo way, who would dare mess with Mr. Carterâs son?â
âNot sure who it is yet, just heard the personâs last name might be Jensen.â
âJensen?â
Could it be Greg Jensen?
The image of a person briefly crossed Cindy Harrisonâs mind, but the absurd thought quickly made her laugh.
Greg Jensen was turned into a fool by Ethan Locke, how could it possibly be him?
Even if he wasnât a fool, would he dare mess with Wallace Carterâs son?
Itâs simply impossible!
Cindy Harrison laughed and shook her head, looking at her aunt who was still chatting. A thought suddenly struck her, and she asked, âAuntie, have you heard someone is planning to open a home cooking restaurant in the east of the city?â
âYes, thereâs such a thing.â
âThen we need to hurry with our branch.â
Cindy Harrison frowned. Her home cooking restaurant was very famous in Jamae City, almost always fully booked, with many customers needing to reserve two days in advance.
Therefore, she was planning to open another branch in East Jamae City but got wind of someone else already having made the move, reportedly even purchasing the property.
âCindy, you donât have to worry, their restaurant is being opened at Dreamscape Garden.â
âDreamscape Garden?â
Cindy Harrison was stunned and said blankly, â Why⦠why would someone open a private dining business in a place like that?â
Judy Lampe chuckled and said, âWho knows? Probably some fool from out of town. Finding a decoration company for a private dining business at Dreamscape Garden would be tough.
After Alfredo Harrisonâs warning example, which decoration company would dare take on this project?â
âHa ha, auntie is right.â
Cindy Harrisonâs expression eased slightly as she smiled and said, âThen letâs proceed with our branch as planned.â
âYes, Iâve already asked someone to help look for a property. We should have some results in a few days.â
âYouâve worked hard, auntie.â
Cindy Harrisonâs face was full of smiles. Running the private dining business for over a year, she had earned nearly three million. Once she expanded her branches throughout Jamae City, she could achieve her dream of earning ten million a year.
Luckily she hadnât ended up with Greg Jensen but chose Ethan Locke instead. Otherwise, sheâd probably still be worrying about finding a job.
Thinking of that unfamiliar yet familiar figure, Cindy Harrison couldnât help but curl her lip in disgust.
At Jamae Hospital, Wallace Carter watched his son being wheeled out of the operating room with a face so dark it seemed water could drip from it.
Theo Carter stood behind him with his arm in a sling, trembling and not daring to speak.
Wallace Carter suddenly turned around, his eyes fiercely glaring as he demanded, âWhy wasnât that woman brought here?â
Theo Carterâs body shook as he explained, âDad, Vince Cooper has nothing to do with this. Itâs enough that we find the guy. Why would we capture her?â
Slap!
Upon hearing his sonâs words, Wallace Carter flew into a rage and slapped him, scolding:
âYou fool, because of a woman, your older brother had his legs broken by someone. And you still have the face to defend that woman?â
Scared, Theo Carter fell to his knees with a thud and said with a quivering voice, âDad, I⦠I was wrong.â
âWas that damn rascal found yet?â
âGot his name and phone number, still looking into the specifics. Weâll have results soon.â
Wallace Carterâs face turned to steel as he pointed at Theo Carter and was about to speak, but just then, Winston Carter woke up.
âWinston, youâre awake. How do you feel?â
Winston Carterâs expression was extremely grim as he gritted his teeth and said, âDad, find that person. Iâm going to kill him. Iâm going to break his legs!â
âGood, rest assured, Iâll definitely avenge you!â Wallace Carter nodded.
Hearing his fatherâs words, Winston Carterâs expression softened a bit as he glanced at his younger brother and said, âThis matter has nothing to do with the second brother. Stop scolding him.â
âHeh, useless thing!â
Wallace Carter coldly glanced at his youngest son and said in a grave voice, âYou stay here and take good care of your brother, you hear me?â
âHeard you.â Theo Carter quickly replied.
âWinston, you focus on healing. If you need anything, have your people buy it.â
âAlright.â
After giving a couple of instructions, Wallace Carter took his men and returned to the villa.
He had just arrived home when he received a call from a close friend, âWallace, we found the person. Seems heâs been hanging out with the Burley and Wright kids.â
âThe Burley and Wright kids?â
Wallace Carterâs expression shifted and then he angrily said, âI donât care who he is. If he dares to touch Wallace Carterâs son, I want him torn to pieces!â
âWallace, hold your anger. Listen to me.â
The friend continued, âThe kid said heâll come by to apologize in person later. Just vent your anger then and let it go.
With the face of those two families involved, you canât go too far.â
âHeh, alright, with the Burley and Wright families involved, we can let it go. Thatâs settled then. Iâll wait for him at home!â
Wallace Carter chuckled, hung up the phone, and then ordered, âGo, call all our best hands back.
If that kid dares to come, Iâll make sure he wonât leave alive!â
