Chapter 34
Mariaâs hair immediately stood on end. The smile on her face disappeared almost instantly.
âNot⦠happy,â she said, stealthily trying to wriggle free and distance herself from Frankâs confinement.
But his arm, which appeared to be draped on her slender shoulder casually, was like an iron wall, firmly restraining her
movements.
Frankâs eyes became somber. He held Maria close, striding with his slender legs toward a nearby shelf.
Maria, acting passively, followed him over, completely unaware of Frankâs intentions.
They moved until they reached the spot where she had just stood. He lifted his arm, his slender and flawless fingers taking the kitten keychain off the shelf and hooking it onto his index finger.
With an indifferent expression, he looked at the two saleswomen nearby and asked coldly, âHow many pieces are there in
this series?â
One of the saleswomen hurriedly replied, âThese are handmade pieces by the designer Oswald. Each one is a unique design, and there are a total of ten kittens with different poses.â
âDestroy all the remaining nine keychains,â Frank said.
With that said, the others were all stunned.
They thought, âDestroy them? One is worth six thousand dollars, and nine of them add up to 54 thousand dollars.â
Maria widened her attractive eyes in disbelief. She lifted her head to look at the stern man beside her and took a deep
breath. âThese were all made with great difficulty,â she said. âEach one is the designerâs hard work. How can you have them destroyed?â
Frank lowered his black eyes, which lacked warmth, and cast a frosty glance at Mariaâs angry face.
âSo what?â he said.
His indifferent attitude made Maria, who dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, feel very angry, so much so that it felt
as if a fire was ignited in her chest.
âNo destruction allowed!â Maria said.
Frank suddenly smirked and said, âBuy them all then.â
Maria was left speechless.
Her anger seemed to be doused with a bucket of cold water. It subsided.
She thought, âIâve got no money. I canât even afford a keychain, let alone ten of them. They cost 60 thousand dollars!â
Maria felt dejected and embarrassed. Her dissatisfaction was bottled up, so much so that it made her feel breathless. She wanted to protect the hard work of a designer but could not do so.

She lowered her head. The more she thought about it, the more upset she felt. âI donât have money,â she said. âWhat should I do so you wonât have them destroyed?â
Frankâs profile was exceptionally handsome. His thin lips almost touched her flawless ear.
He actually had the urge to bite that small earlobe.
Frankâs dark eyes turned somber a little, his thin lips curving into a nonchalant smile. The words he intended to say changed into just two words. âKiss me,â he said.
Mariaâs expression obviously showed that she was startled. Then, a layer of blush immediately appeared on her little face. She was left speechless.
She thought, âItâs not just him and me here, but also two saleswomen and Grace, who is watching the drama. How could I possibly take the initiative to kiss him?â
âLet them be destroyed then,â Frank said nonchalantly.
âNo!â Maria said, immediately shaking her head. She refused to let them be destroyed.
She lifted her eyes to look at the man before her, who was unusually stern, knowing well that he was being intentional and purposely putting her in a difficult spot.
However, Maria was helpless. She could not overpower Frank.
Nevertheless, she still strove to ask, âIf I kiss you, you wonât destroy them, huh?â
Frankâs voice was cold as he said, âYouâre bargaining with me.â
âIâm not,â Maria said. âIâm justâ¦â
âMaria, I donât have the mood for leisure to drag things out with you,â Frank said as he furrowed his brow, impatiently interrupting whatever Maria was about to say.
Mariaâs heart skipped a beat, thinking, âHe has gotten impatient! Should I kiss or should I not kiss?â
