Chapter 27
Frank noticed Maria had woken up. He looked at her with a cold expression as she stared at him with confusion.
She was like á cute kitten who woke up and was still drowsy.
Frank ordered in an icy tone, âLet go of me.â
Maria wondered, âLet go of him?â She had no idea what Frank meant by saying that.
Maria had only one thought in her head. âWhy didnât he leave?
She remained lost in her thoughts until she sensed something was moving in her hands.
Maria lowered her head to check what was in her hands. When she saw what she was holding, she was dumbfounded.
Then, she instantly let go of Frankâs hand as if she had an electric shock. It was like Frankâs hand was something untouchable.
Frankâs palm gradually cooled down as Maria retrieved her hands.
He frowned in irritation. However, he was uncertain about the cause of his vexation, thinking, âAm I annoying at Mariaâs sudden retrieval of her hands or her attitude toward
me?â
Seeing Frank frown again, Maria panicked. She thought, âHe must be mad at me for touching him!â
Maria waited for Frankâs mocking uneasily and awkwardly.
However, things did not develop as she expected.
Frank moved his long and slender legs and strode over. He went straight to the bathroom without looking at Maria.
Soon, Maria heard that Frank was washing his hands.
Walking out of the bathroom, Frank glanced at Maria and ordered coldly, âClean yourself up. Then, go to have lunch with my grandpa.â
Following that, he walked over and exited the bedroom.
Chapter 27
Maria sat on the bed and could not believe that. She thought, âDid Frank leave without mocking me? Iâve never seen Frank treat me this way. This is so unlike him:
Maria raised her hand in disbelief and pinched her cheek hard. She murmured inside, âIt hurts. This is not a dream. So, there must be something wrong with Frank. Itâs good this way. I prefer to be ignored than being mocked by Frank!
Maria took a shower and changed her clothes. After cleaning up, she was ready to have lunch with Basil.
However, she suddenly realized a bigger problem. She did not know how to get there.
Maria was not bad at directions. However, her memory was not good enough to remember all the paths once she stepped on them.
She thought, âFrank left, and no one shows me the path. How am I supposed to get there?â
Maria regretted not asking Chloe for her phone number.
She only had Frankâs phone number on her phone.
However, calling Frank was the last thing that Maria wanted to do.
She considered, âI know Frank well. He probably wonât pick up my call. Even if he does, he wonât come over. Whatâs worse, heâll sneer at me. He was nice and did not mock me just now, but it doesnât mean he wonât do it again.â
After thinking it over, Maria decided to find the way herself. She comforted herself, thinking, âMaybe Iâll run into a servant who can show me the path to the dining areaâ
Maria made up her mind and opened the bedroom door to leave.
wever,
she stopped after one step out of the bedroom.
Frank was sitting on the sofa in the living room. He heard the sound of opening the door and stood up.
He cast a glance at Maria. Then, he slipped his hand into his pants pocket and walked outside.
Maria was too shocked to move, thinking, âIs he waiting for me?â
