âWhat kind of place is it?â Rosalie asked. Lillianâs words have piqued her curiosity.
âWell, youâll know when we arrive there later,â Lillian said, covering her mouth and chuckling.
Rosalie suddenly felt that her friendâs chuckle sounded like one of those old villainesses from movies or TV shows.
And when Lillian finally took Rosalie to the good spot she had mentioned, Rosalie was a little speechless. It was just an underground bar, crowded by high schoolers aged 17 or 18 and some young people in their early 20s.
People her age looked a little out of place, stuck in the middle of that bar.
âWhatâs good about this place?â Rosalic asked in confusion.
âYouâll know in a while,â Lillian said as she winked at Rosalie.
Then, at 8 oâclock sharp, the atmosphere suddenly became more lively than before. Five men entered the stage right in front of the bar.
It was just a band singing on stage, which Rosalie didnât think was special.
But Lillianâs eyes lit up brightly as she said, âHere they come!â
âYou brought me here today to see them?â Rosalie asked.
âYes, they are quite popular in this niche circle recently. The five of them have good looks and figures.
And when they dance, it is so intoxicating!â Lillian exclaimed, getting more excited with each word. She just wanted to introduce those five men to Rosalie in detail.
Well, Rosalie knew Lillian quickly got excited when handsome guys were mentioned. âArenât you seeing Callum? Arenât you worried heâll find out youâre here?â
âOf course, I hid the fact that Iâm coming here!â Lillian said. Her expression turned intoxicated as she looked at the handsome men. âBesides, I just like admiring these men. The person I really like is Callum!â
Rosalie was stunned. âYou like Callum?â
âWhat?â Only now did Lillian realize she had spilled the beans on her feelings. Then, she said embarrassedly, âWell⦠I havenât told you yet, but Iâm really dating Callum now. As I said before, itâs not some pretend relationship that will end in revenge and whatnot.â
Originally, Lillian wanted to wait for a while and find a suitable opportunity to let Rosalie know. After all, it had not been long since Rosalie had broken up with Jonathan.
When Rosalie saw the guilt on Lillianâs face, she immediately understood Lillianâs reluctance to tell her the truth. Rosalie smiled and patted Lillian on the shoulder before saying, âThis is great news. You and Callum are together now. You should be happy. Why didnât you tell me? Just because I broke up with Jonathan?â
Lillian didnât say anything, but the expression on her face was enough of an explanation for Rosalie.
âLillian, just because Jonathan and I broke up doesnât mean I will be disappointed or unhappy that you are in a real relationship with Callum. Arenât you underestimating the friendship we have between us?â
Rosalie said, smiling gently, âIâll just be happy for you. I am happy that my best friend has finally found someone she likes! So you donât have to feel guilty or embarrassed about anything.â
Lillian breathed a sigh of relief and grinned. âYouâre right. I underestimated the friendship between us!
And I underestimated you as well. Come on, we should let loose later! Who does Jonathan think he is?
There are a lot of men in this world! Iâll find you a dozen handsome men later!â
When Rosalie saw Lillian getting excited, she agreed and said, âAll right. Make it a dozen!â
âWhat?â In the study of the Youngblood residence, Carlosâ expression turned grim after answering the phone. âJust⦠keep an eye on them, he added to the person on the other end of the phone.
them?
Carlos looked at Jonathan nervously after ending the call, not knowing how to get to the point.
âWhat is it? What happened?â Jonathan asked indifferently.
âWell⦠itâs about Ms. Leighton,â Carlos said.
âRosalie?â Jonathan asked, his expression changing. âWhatâs with her?â
âW-Well, the thing is⦠Ms. Leightonâs friend, Lillian, came to visit her today, and then they went to an underground bar together to watch a show,â Carlos answered, stammering.
When Jonathan heard that, he asked, âWhat? Has someone started makin Rosalie getting hurt. After all, he had sent people to protect her.
trouble for her?â He was not worried about âIf they canât even provide basic protection for her, then theyâre no better than a useless lump of muscle,â Jonathan scoffed âNobody gave them any trouble, but The Kings are performing at the underground bar tonight,â Carlos replied.
âThe Kings?â Jonathan echoed, raising his eyebrows slightly.
âThey are a bar troupe that has become quite popular recently. Their performance⦠Well, they are popular among young women,â Carlos murmured, his voice dropping as he came to the point.
Jonathan narrowed his eyes slightly and ordered, âGet on with the rest of the information!â
âItâs just that when The Kings get on stage and start performing⦠there will be a lot of dancing, some of which⦠will drive women crazy, like⦠taking off⦠their clothesâ¦â Carlos stammered.
The more Carlos revealed about The Kings, the more terrified he became, especially when he mentioned the undressing part, and Jonathanâs expression suddenly darkened. âI think the shit has hit the fan,â Carlos lamented inwardly.
The atmosphere in the study room became tense.
All of a sudden, Jonathan stood up and asked coldly, âWhereâs the underground bar?â
âHuh?â Carlos was stunned as he thought, âPlease donât tell me that Mr. Youngblood plans to go over there himself!â
At that moment, in the underground bar, Rosalie and Lillian watched the performance while drinking beer cans.
They were surrounded by screaming women, many of them waving their glow sticks and fluorescent signs to one side. Rosalie felt like she was watching a mini live concert.
âLike Lillian said, this is a perfect place to let loose! It seems that when one is immersed in this kind of crazy environment, the worries go far away,â Rosalie thought as she took another sip of beer.
At that moment, Lillian suddenly pulled Rosalie up excitedly and said, âWell, itâs about to start. Their hottest performance is about to begin!â
Rosalie saw the five handsome guys on stage start taking off their jackets and moving their bodies in sync with each other on the stage. Lillian stood right on the chair and started dancing to the rhythmâ¦
âRosalie, you should dance too! Letâs dance together!â Lillian said to Rosalie.
Rosalie smiled. Perhaps it was easy to let go in such an environment, so she said, âAll right!â Then she began to dance, moving her body along with Lillianâs.
Rosalie threw all her problems aside. Right now, at that moment, it was as if she had never been in jail and had never experienced any pain or broken heart. She was still that energetic Rosalie, the one who had endless dreams about her future.
Just like that, the two of them were dancing and moving their bodies to the upbeat music, unaware that a luxury car had pulled up to the entrance of the underground bar.
