Chapter 2: First World (2) [Part 2]
Chu Wei prescribed some medicine for Ji Mo, some of which were anti-inflammatory medicines.
Ji Mo put the medicine into her small handbag, paid the fee with her mobile phone, and got ready to go out. Yet, when she was about to stand up, her attention was attracted to the pair of feet that looked like a pigâs hooves. She looked at her bandaged feet, feeling a little loss in her heart.
She didnât notice it when she took the medicine just now. But looking at it, it seemed that she might not be able to go back by herself.
She lifted up her head and was directly met by Chu Weiâs gaze who was standing in front of her. Chu Wei glanced at her and said coldly, âYour feet are just bandaged up. If you want the wound to not be infected, itâs recommended not to walk for the next two days.â
âThank you, Dr. Chu, Iâll keep your words in mind.â Then after pausing for a moment, she spread her arms in resignation. With helplessness in her voice, she said: âI canât walk on my feet nor can I crawl back.â
Both Granny Zhou and Chu Wei were caught off guard by Ji Moâs sentence.
Chu Wei was amused by Ji Moâs words. She then proceeded to instruct her to call her family to pick her up.
âI live alone.â Ji Mo said, âAt this time of night, I doubt if thereâs still a nurse to ask for help.â
âDoesnât Xiao Ji have a boyfriend?â Granny Zhouâs face was full of gossip. âI heard that thereâs always a young man giving you flowers at the gate of the community not long ago? Isnât he your boyfriend?â
âGrandma Zhou, you misunderstood. He isnât my boyfriend, and I have already rejected him.â She received the memories of the original owner when she came to this world. If there was no memory, it is not safe to say that there will be no flaws and accidents in the future.
âGirls these days just donât care about finding a partner. Look at my familyâs Chu Wei, sheâs almost thirty but still had no partner. She devoted her time to medicine. Before, I had thoughts of hugging a great-grandson, but now I just hope for Chu Wei to finally find her other half. Time is running short, Iâm afraid that Chu Wei will be single for the rest of her lifeâ¦â
Chu Wei interrupted Granny Zhou, âGrandma, this kind of thing cannot be forced. If itâs really not going to work, then itâs not going to work. Just like how my parents are. They reluctantly get together because of an arrangement. But didnât they divorce just after I was born?â
âOkay, you girl ah, you are right. Grandma didnât have the intention of forcing you. I just feel like life is too long, and a person will feel lonely without the company of others. If you can meet the right person, grandma will be very happy. If you donât, forget it.â Thinking of the time when Chu Weiâs parents divorced, Granny Zhou felt that a force and urged marriage was meaningless.
Two people who were not meant for each other will separate sooner or later.
âWhich unit and floor do you live in?â Chu Wei asked Ji Mo. âIâll take you home.â
Granny Zhou chirped at the side, âThatâs alright too. Xiao Ji, let Chu Wei take you back. Your situation is not easy. There is no one to help you if you are sick. Fortunately, thereâs my familyâs Chu Wei.â
Ji Mo knew that Granny Zhou was the type of grandmother who likes to praise her granddaughter very much if she was given a chance.
Ji Mo looked at Chu Wei suspiciously and said with hesitation, âI live on the fifth floor. Moreover, the community is an old one, so there is no elevator,â She paused for a bit and pointed at her feet that were bandaged like a pigâs hooves, âNow, I canât walk on my both feet. Dr. Chu, can you really do it? Of course, I am very grateful for your kindness, but it is the fifth floor. Although Iâm not heavy, I still have weight. Even for a grown man, itâs hard to carry a person who weighs about ninety pounds up to the fifth floor.â
âDonât worry about it, Xiao Ji. My familyâs Chu Wei is very strong and can carry you easily. Even a young manâs strength is not as good as my Chu Weiâs.â Granny Zhou couldnât help but boast about her granddaughter again. Anyway, her granddaughter was a real capable person who was knowledgeable, sensible, kind, and never let people worry about her.
âReally?â Ji Mo was still hesitating. In case something unexpected really happened, the two of them would roll down from the stairs together. She couldnât help but imagine that kind of funny and miserable scene.
Chu Wei left to wash her hands, and when she came back, she rolled up her sleeves and advanced to Ji Mo. âPack your things, Iâll send you back.â
Seeing that Chu Wei was determined about taking her back, Ji Mo didnât speak anymore. If they really rolled together from the stairs later, she would protect the vital parts of her body to minimize the impact of the damage. She was quite experienced at this, but this body was really weak.
âAre you done packing your things?â
âYes.â Ji Mo held her handbag in one hand and her shoes in the other hand.
Chu Wei casually walked up to her and unceremoniously lifted her up. Ji Mo, who was carried like a pig, felt weird in that instant. She initially thought that Chu Wei would come to hug her and carry her in a princess hug.
Inside her: âWhy carry me like a pig?â
âDr. Chu, your strength is so good. You look soft and delicate outside. Unexpectedly, you are so powerful.â
âGenetics. Itâs because my father is a soldier. When I was young, he often trained me to carry sandbags. Obviously, he hoped that I could be a soldier someday.â
Sandbag Ji Mo: ââ¦â
She regretted what she said.
Now, sheâs a sandbag.
