Chapter 10: The First World (10) [Part 2]

Ji Mo’s mouth twitched, is there something wrong? She appeased her, but the murderous intent around Chu Wei became sharper, like an unsheathed sword, ready to take people’s lives at any second.

“I’m a little tired these days. Alright, I’ll go back now and rest more.” Chu Wei responded and pushed Ji Mo into the room, “Also you, go and rest early.”

The door closed, and Chu Wei walked downstairs.

The advanced tracker showed Ji Mo the current location of Chu Wei, she didn’t go home and instead went straight to Xie Chuang’s house. A few moments later, Chu Wei’s voice rang.

“Xie Chuang, can you keep track of Du Libing’s location at any time now?”

“I can. Weren’t you the one who told me to monitor him before?”

“I want to know his whereabouts all the time. I’m afraid he will make a move on Ji Mo. His phone should be sufficient to know his location, right?”

“Yes, I’ll get it for you.” Xie Chuang agreed with Chu Wei’s thought.

Ten minutes later, Chu Wei looked at the screen of the phone with satisfaction. Displayed on the screen was a green dot, signalling Du Libing’s location. Du Libing had his phone with him so monitoring his location all the time was easy.

Xie Chuang looked at Chu Wei who was intently looking at her phone with a focused expression. He smiled and opened his mouth, “Chu Wei, I feel like you are paying more attention to Ji Mo. At first, I only assumed that it was because of what happened to Ke Xuan, and that you didn’t want another girl to end up with the same fate as her. But after my observation, that’s probably just one of the reasons. The way you treat Ji Mo now is completely different from how you treated her at the beginning.”

“What do you mean by how I treat her?” Chu Wei asked without lifting up her head. She was still staring at the green dot displayed on the screen with cold eyes.

“Didn’t you notice how you become nervous when the topic is about Ji Mo? Every time you have a duty, you will ask me to send her off. I’m not complaining though, we’re friends after all. But after my observations these days, I discovered that the way you look at Ji Mo is not normal.” Xie Chuang touched his nose embarrassingly after seeing that Chu Wei still didn’t look up.

He added, “Don’t you get it?”

“Just say it directly, don’t beat around the bush.”

Xie Chuang rolled his eyes speechlessly, “Forget it, I’m not interested in talking about it now. I am a person who is destined to live a lonely life. Talking to you about this, isn’t I just looking for abuse?”

Chu Wei didn’t pay attention to him for the time being. Her mind was still on Du Libing. She felt that if this person continued to live in this world even for one day, Ji Mo would be in danger. If that happens, there will be no one to call her Dr. Chu sweetly anymore, and say good words to her tirelessly.

“Du Libing was just released from prison. He’s still acting cautious, and didn’t dare to come here.” Xie Chuang changed the topic, “Rest assured, I’ll keep an eye on him. Besides, you basically tie Ji Mo with you. Aside from the time when you are working, you’re literally sticking with her 24 hours a day.”

Chu Wei, “I’ll go back first.”

“You… Perhaps this is the meaning of friend. Disregarding it after using it.”

Later, aside from her usual routine, Chu Wei would do one more thing. She would monitor Du Libing’s location if she was free, and tried to stay by Ji Mo’s side all day long.

Du Libing’s honesty only lasted for one month. In the second month, Chu Wei found that Du Libing started to set foot in places close to their location from time to time. Chu Wei’s heart turned cold. When Du Libing secretly appeared at the community where Ji Mo lived, Chu Wei quickly became restless.

Ji Mo learned that Chu Wei had started to keep an eye on Du Libing, and it looked like she was planning to do something.

For the past year that had passed, she never once slacked off in training her body. Now, she was confident that Du Libing couldn’t touch and hit her with a stick like before.

One day, Chu Wei took a leave from work and planned to go to the place where Du Lining was currently located to see the situation. As for what kind of thoughts she had on her mind, even she herself didn’t know. However, there was a voice in her heart urging her that, no matter what, the thing of her going to Du Libing’s place should be done.

Ji Mo found that the situation was far from good. After Chu Wei went out, she sent her a message.

Ji Mo: Dr. Chu, can you come to my house?

Without much surprise, after Chu Wei saw the message, she quickly became serious and called her back. “What happened?” Chu Wei’s tone was laced with worry, causing Ji Mo to feel a little guilty.

“I feel like someone is watching me.” Ji Mo’s tone turned anxious, “I had this feeling when I went out of the house.”

Upon hearing her words, Chu immediately checked the location of Du Libing on her phone, and saw that Du Libing was not with Ji Mo. Instead, he was in his own home in the community. Could it be that Ji Mo was being targeted by another sick man again?

“Stay at where you are, I’ll be there in a moment.”

At this moment, Chu Wei put her initial plan of going to Du Libing’s place in the back of her mind. She stepped on the accelerator and drove back quickly.

Ji Mo looked at Chu Wei’s position in her mind, which was moving quickly. Her eyelids twitched. Dr. Chu, you can slow down, don’t be in a hurry.
