Chapter 10: The First World (10) [Part 1]
âYes, Dr. Chu resembled a celestial being in my heart, and the people who were treated by you are fortunate people.â
Sitting on a chair, an uncontrollable smile appeared on Chu Weiâs face as her mind played back the scene of Ji Mo saying those words to her this morning.
It was a new thing for her for someone to look at her with such solemn eyes, and say such words. Ji Mo insisted that she would be part of history in the future and would accomplish great things in the medical field.
Those straightforward, genuine, and innocent words lit up a fire in Chu Weiâs heart. This feeling was very similar to when she saw those people saved by her grandmother express their gratitude and knelt down in exhilaration.
This feeling was like having your heart overflowed with warmth. Only one thought was left in her mind, that is, save more people; cure them from their diseases, and bring them away from the verge of death.
âDr. Chu? Whatâs wrong with you today? Youâre so happy that you didnât hear me even after calling you a few times.â
Chu Wei was pulled out of her reverie, âIâm thinking about the future.â
âThe future? Dr. Chuâs future must be bright. After all, youâre the youngest doctor in the department.â
âDo you also think that my future is bright?â
âHahaha, Dr. Chu, you really know how to joke. If you canât have a bright future, then who can? Is Dr. Chu doubting her own ability?â
Chu Wei fell silent for a few seconds and opened her mouth, âSomeone told me that I could be a part of history in the future. What do you think?â
The doctor from the same department as her laughed loudly. His expression turned sly, âThen this man is very discerning.â
Back to the present time, Ji Mo would compliment Chu Wei whenever she had the chance. Ji Moâs words were sincere, and while complimenting Chu Wei, her eyes were shining brightly.
Over time, Chu Wei became accustomed to her actions. Perhaps she was worried that she wouldnât be worthy of these compliments, so she began to read books and watch various cases more these days.
Chu Weiâs medical skills have undoubtedly advanced to a certain point during the past months.
Ji Mo would inquire about the hospital, the majority of which were about the patients who were saved by Chu Wei.
Chu Wei would later take the initiative to tell her whenever she saved another person. She didnât know, but while talking, she unconsciously exudes a sense of pride. Ji Mo looked at the dazzling Chu Wei and sensed that her plan of planting a seed on Chu Wei to âbecome a part of historyâ was successful.
In the beginning, the two just got off and on to work together, but later, Chu Wei left work early and would come over to Ji Mo for dinner.
Several of her co-workers asked the identity of this beautiful woman, and Ji Mo will proudly introduce her to them, âChu Wei, a young and beautiful doctor who has excellent medical skills.â
These past months, Chu Wei was showered by Ji Moâs good words every day, and she gradually became used to it. If there was an instance where Ji Mo didnât praise her for one day, she might worry and think that she didnât do a good job somewhere.
Chu Wei was very fond of the feeling of being looked at by Ji Moâs beautiful eyes. When the other party said good words to her, it was as if she was in a comfortable hot spring.
Her mood would turn bright whenever she heard Ji Mo calling her Dr. Chu. She especially liked to hear Ji Mo say the words of, âDr. Chu, youâre really good. You treated patients who were suffering from diseases. If you donât shine, who will shine?â
Chu Weiâs good mood only lasted for two months. When the day of Du Libingâs release from prison came, her originally good mood turned unpleasant.
Her mood became even more restless after seeing Ji Mo happy in front of her. If Du Libing was still the same sick man before, would he hurt Ji Mo again?
This kind of restlessness made her have many sleepless nights. At the same time, she would have nightmares whenever she slept.
In her nightmare, the scene played the time when she got off from work. Passing through the alley, she saw Ji Moâs body lying in a pool of blood, lifeless, pale and cold.
When she thought that no one would call her Dr. Chu sweetly anymore, says good words about her if she had nothing to do, and no one who will wholeheartedly think that she could be part of history, Chu Wei was swallowed by a depressing emotion, causing her to feel like giving up.
In her nightmare, Du Libing screamed similar to a crazy in court, saying how a person like Ji Mo was a vain and dishonest woman who deserved to die.
Recently, Ji Mo was having a feeling of strangeness coming from Chu Wei. The other partyâs makeup was not as thin as before, but it still couldnât hide the black color under her eyes. It was clear that Chu Wei hadnât had a good nightâs sleep for a few days. She was aware that the reason behind it was that manâs release from the prison.
Unbeknownst to her, the reason for Chu Weiâs sleepless nights was because she was having nightmares about her being killed by that person every day.
âDr. Chu, are you having trouble these days? You look like you were not having a good sleep.â Ji Mo made up her mind and appeased her, âYouâre a doctor who saves lives of many people, so you must look after your own health. You can only be recorded in history if you have a healthy body.â
Chu Weiâs mood turned better after hearing her words, but seeing her energetic and sweet appearance reminded her of Du Libing, and she once again felt that Du Libing deserved to die. The Du Libing in her nightmare was a despicable person inside out. Why canât he just disappear?
Right, if that person disappears, then Ji Mo will be safe and the things in her dream wouldnât come true.
