The Auction continued without anyone realising the danger they were in. Blood had already started to flow while the people in the auction hall still sat there oblivious to the fact.
The 6â sword which had been sold for a staggering price of 300 million zen had really shocked the people. Even the items sold after that didn't go for that much despite being better than thatâ¦.
At this moment, in the VIP room towards the cornerâ¦.
Werner was standing behind the elder while the unknown young man still stood in the corner as if this things had nothing to do with him.
"Masterâ¦.the people sent out earlier have vanishedâ¦" A voice rang out in the room as a man materialised from the shadow.
The aura leaking out of the man was way much stronger than anyone else in the room. Obviously, the old man was an exception. He was just like an old man who could be found in every neighborhood. There was not any sign of power or authority leaking from him.
Max hadn't even sensed his presence to begin with. It was only when the old man had tried to look over Max, did he realize that there was a frightening presence hereâ¦If he had known it from the start, he would have immediately called for help instead of walking inâ¦he wasn't a fool after allâ¦
When Werner heard the person say that the people sent out had vanished, his face turned extremely ugly.
"Should I deal with it myselfâ¦" the man calmly asked.
"Do as you wishâ¦" the old man casually waved his hand.
"Masterâ¦" But Werner suddenly spoke.
"Do you want something to say, Werner?" The old man asked as he turned his head towards him.
"Master, please let me deal with the mess I createdâ¦."Werner spoke with a serious look on his face. He knew that if things were left at this man's disposal, there would be blood everywhere.
This man was one of his master's servants. And the weakest among them too, but he still knew how capable he was...
If things were to turn into a bloody mess, Werner was sure that he would receive a huge setback and all his hard work would go to vainâ¦
He had to stop it from happening and recover from this situationâ¦.
"You know what failure would mean, don't you?" The old man asked, it seemed he was still kind enough to remind Werner of the consequences of another failure.
"Yes, Masterâ¦" Werner gritted his teeth before speaking out. If he let things continue, he might be back to square one and at worst would lose his chancesâ¦.in that case, he was willing to bet it here and fight it out.
Besides, with this man here. There was no way he would have any problem. As long as he listened to him, things should go smoothly.
"You heard him, follow his commandâ¦.." The old man said to his servant who nodded his head.
Werner turned around to leave. The moment he was about to pass through the door, the guy standing in the corner finally spoke, "Farewell loserâ¦."
Werner glared at him but didn't stop for another argument and just left.
"So you find him interesting too?" The old man suddenly asked the guy in the corner with only two of them left in the room.
"Now, what might you be talking about?" The guy feigned ignorance.
The old man didn't mind his behavior.

On the other side...
Max tried to explain to Lora that things weren't simple. The enemy was far more powerful than they thought them to be. A bad move might even kill everyone present here.
Lora obviously couldn't believe that and insisted on calling the security or contacting the Union for help.
Union was the last thing Max wanted to contact, he used his fingers carefully and the next moment Lora was on the ground. Her eyes were open and she was still breathing but her body was refusing to move.
By now Max was quite proficient in his use of Vital arts...
Within a few seconds, Lora was immobilised. She could only stare in horror as Max picked her up.
Max immediately spread his senses out, he had planned on breaking out of the place with one step not giving anyone anytime to react. But before he did so, he stoppedâ¦..
'Tskâ¦' Max clicked his tongue. The strongest person that he had sensed after entering this place (excluding the old man) seemed to have finally moved.
'But why is he suddenly moving out instead of attackingâ¦' Max was a bit puzzled.
Still he shook his head, the weaklings were still moving towards him. It seemed they were after him.
'I can't take her out like thisâ¦' Max looked at Lora.
He then started at the fox on his shoulder and spoke, "Help me get her back into that roomâ¦"
The fox looked at Max as it tilted its head. A few seconds later as if it had received an order, the fox jumped down and it's size increased from a little cat to that of a wolf.
Max placed Lora on it's back before looking towards the entrance.
"Well that's certainly niceâ¦." Max smiled as he looked towards the stairs leading to the terrace.
'I am glad that I have wingsâ¦.' Max muttered inwardly before rushing towards the stairs. He was going to finish them off on terrace before making his escape.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
â¦.
On the other side as soon as Max had left the room, Lear immediately got up and went into the washroom before Erina could even ask anything.
"What's wrong with these two?" Erina muttered with a frown. Something was obviously wrong and yet they were not willing to share it.
"It might be something among guysâ¦." Namen said as she turned her head towards the stage. The item she wanted to buy was up next.
â¦.
"Can you hear me?" Lear passed the message through the transmitter as he sat on the toilet seat.
"What kind of stupid question is that? And who are you?" A childish voice came back through the transmitter.
"I am Lear, don't forget me so soonâ¦" Lear wanted to give him a lecture but it wasn't the right time.
"Anyway, we are in troubleâ¦.Max said to get to the Academy and inform the headmaster for helpâ¦" Lear didn't take much time and immediately relayed the message.
"Is it that bad?" Bahamut's grim voice sounded through the transmitter.
"He didn't say much...but from the look on Max's face...how do I say....it seemed someone had stolen his girlfriendâ¦" Lear tried to explain what he had felt.
"Wellâ¦..that...certainly sounds badâ¦.'' Bahmut's unsure voice reached Lear's ears.
"Anyway send Wilson to the Academy, you stay out of itâ¦.we don't want another of you wielder's identity outâ¦" Lear said as he calmly began to think through. This wasn't said by Max but Lear knew how to actâ¦.he wasn't a fool when the situation demandedâ¦.it was weird but trueâ¦.it was as if his battle mode added extra Wisdom to his stats.
"He is onto itâ¦.I am heading towards the auction hallâ¦" Bahamut replied. It was a good thing they had just settled the fight when he received the message.
"If even Max can't deal with it, your coming here won't help either...stay awayâ¦don't act rash kid..." Lear calmly said. It wasn't time to act rashly.
He didn't know that the one word Bahamut didn't like to hear was kid....and when Lear said that he snapped.
"Shut up! The the reason I have to come is because of your uselessness and lack of judgement â¦.it might be hard...but we can lose anyone but Max at this pointâ¦.if I was in your place I would have prioritised Max's safety and there you are being a burden and having your ass saved as he goes to risk his live..." Bahamut's words were clear, a bit harsh, a bit true and totally one sided. He didn't know and didn't care about Max's resolve of keeping his people safe.
"He is the center of our plan and only one who has tons of experience which none of us probably have and he has already discovered his spiritâ¦..I am indeed acting rashly but that is to ensure the maximum chances of our successâ¦.so stop looking down on me and get your ass moving..."
Lear never thought of hearing such things from a kid. But the truth was the truth. Bahamut was right, he was indeed being a burden....even if Max wanted his safety, Lear should have realised the best course of action before this kid needed to remind him.
He really wanted to curse himself and get depressed before going into flashbacks to ignite his resolve once again and stuff but this was not the time....he had to move...
At this moment, Lear heard Namen's startled voice and immediately rushed out prepared to fight.
But when he saw that they were freaking out over a fox carrying a familiar-looking girl, he wanted to sigh in relief that it wasn't an enemy attack.
But how could heâ¦.
"Lora is that you?" Namen said as he expression turned grim.
Erina was planning to attack already but Lear immediately stopped them.
"Wait! It's not what you thinkâ¦" Lear said and looked towards the fox.
He had seen Max's spirit snake. Even though he shouldn't be able to sense spirit energy normally, the fact that he was Max's follower actually made him quite sensitive to it as time passed.
The fox looked at Lear and let Lora down at his feet before transforming back into its cute little appearance and perching onto Lear's shoulder.
"Why are you here?!!!" Lear's face twitched as he almost lost himself in anger. He really wanted to slap her. Why was she here even after refusing earlier? Only when he was thinking that it was good that she refused she has to go and do this.....
"You are among one of the five rightâ¦." Lear suddenly started to talk but his words made no sense to any of the people present there in the room.
Well his words weren't for them to begin with...
"That guy is outâ¦.I need to follow after him. Can you take these people outâ¦" Lear didn't care at this moment. He had two priorities now.
Chase after Max because Bahamut was rightâ¦.
Get this idiot girl out of this place as fast as possible and the two behind him as wellâ¦
He knew how broken Max and Bahmut's ability were and he wasn't expecting any less from this person. With Max leading them away, it shouldn't be impossible to get them out unless the person who Max had deemed as the most dangerous one here decided to stand in their path..
"Well, you have got gutsâ¦.I give you that but without a beautiful face like mine. You don't have much hopeâ¦"
When Lear turned his head to see the person who was standing next to him. He was surprised but it wasn't that he was expecting anything less from these cheat like charactersâ¦.
"Well, then shall we goâ¦.I don't want anyone to die before even meeting them in person.." The guy waved his hand and everyone except for Lear disappeared.
"Wait...aren't you going to get them to safety?" Lear asked with a frown.
But the guy just turned around and smiled, "Don't worry, the old geezer says it isn't the time of our deathâ¦"
Lear couldn't make head and tail of his words but seeing that he didn't seem to stop, he immediately followed behind him.
