“Daddy!!”

Anxia prayed wholeheartedly that her daughter would be able to tell the twins apart, but the two men surprised her by reacting the same.

“Lori!” both shouted while stretching their arms toward Lori, causing the little girl to halt and look at the two grown men with her intelligent eyes.

“Daddy?”

“Yes Lori?” the two men replied simultaneously making Anxia and Michele fixated on the spot. They wondered if their two husbands had telepathic abilities or what? Why were their movements and speech precisely the same as they had practiced before? It was too synchronized!

Lori turned to her mother with a confused look, making Anxia heave a resigned sigh―even her daughter couldn’t tell them apart―Harmonie wouldn’t be able to win this game.

“Lori, your daddy is so troublesome today. How about we punish him later?” Anxia deliberately provoked her daughter to incite Richard’s emotions. She knew both men had a high level of patience, but Anxia knew more than anyone that Richard’s patience limit was shorter than Raymond’s.

“Punish him how?”

“We won’t let him sleep with us tonight.” Anxia glanced at the two men to investigate their still-unchanged expressions. “And tomorrow, and tomorrow again. We will have your daddy sleep in the guest room for a week.”

Richard’s lips would usually twitch in displeasure and give his wife a warning look. But Richard had already entered into equalizing mode with Raymond, so he insisted on resisting the urge to ‘punish’ his wife deeply.

Anxia didn’t know who said it, but Anxia felt her heart warm when she heard it. She knew that Richard was still worried about her even though the man was currently in a ‘winning’ game mode.

Once again Anxia glanced in all directions to confirm something, only to find herself―no goosebumps or uneasiness. She decided to forget about it. “It’s nothing, really.” that was the short and firm answer that came out of her mouth.

“Daddy, carry me!” Lori exclaimed suddenly, making the two twins look down with a smile.

Both of them stretched their hands toward the green-purple-eyed child. For a moment Lori was stunned and glanced alternately at the four hands reaching out to her.

In the end, Lori shrugged nonchalantly, chose one of them, and giggled as two arms lifted her up high.

“Ah, I’m so sad. Lori didn’t choose me.” pouted the owner of the unchosen two hands.

Lori wrapped her tiny arms around the neck of the person holding her and pressed her cheek against the person’s cheek. Then the little girl unwrapped her arms and held them out to the person who was sulking at not being chosen.

“You can carry me now,” giggled Lori in an adorable manner. She did the same as this person’s twin brother did by wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her cheek against this person’s. Immediately her eyes lit up and her smile widened.

Then Lori turned around so her mother would not see her expression as she whispered something into her father’s ear.

“Daddy, I know you are my daddy.”

Richard almost choked at his daughter’s whisper. How could his daughter know right away?? Richard gave a look that only Raymond could understand, and his twin brother immediately took over.

“Anxia, ??Michele, would you mind accompanying Harmonie? We couldn’t bear to see her sitting alone pensively like that.”

“Then you should have blessed her relationship with your cousin.”

“We have reasons why we want to separate them. Go,” added Richard in the same tone as his younger brother.

“Why do I feel you guys are trying to kick us out?” guessed Michele accurately.

“Yeah. You don’t even ask us to dance. Look, the other couples have already gathered on the dance floor.” Anxia continued, refusing to leave because she suspected Lori was hiding something from her. She observed her daughter’s expression, yet she found nothing.

Furthermore, Lori had been asking to be carried countless times since no one could carry her leisurely as she grew up. Anxia and Richard wouldn’t be surprised if Lori wanted to take this opportunity to act spoiled as much as she could.

Lori had asked her mother, but Anxia couldn’t carry her as long as she used to due to Lori’s fast growth. Likewise, Lori couldn’t bear to make her elderly grandfather lift her body. So, the only ones who could carry her were her father and uncle.

That’s why Anxia didn’t suspect that Lori felt comfortable being carried by Richard or Raymond; without knowing at this time, Lori was the most comfortable in her own father’s arms.

“If a ball dances your ladyship seek, we gentlemen are honored to grant it. Lady Calvin, will you give me the honor?” Raymond had first invited one of the women to dance with him.

The two ladies looked at each other and then glanced at the two men with probing eyes.
