152 Ch. 152 The Calvinsâ Visit (part 3)
âItâs not a big deal, mommy. He forgot to tell you something.â
âTell me what?â
âSomething excites me, and I canât wait for it,â replied Lori in a cheerful and enthusiastic tone making Anxia chuckle.
âIf it is something that pleases you, why apologize? He did nothing wrong.â came the answer from the mother.
âPromise? You wonât be mad at dad?â Lori extended her pinky finger toward the mother, and Anxia twisted the same finger against her daughterâs to confirm her promise.
âI promise. But shouldnât your father be the one begging for an apology?â Anxia glanced at her husband while trying to hold back her laughter, seeing for the first time she cornered her husband until Richard felt helpless.
âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to forget about it, but⦠I completely did.â
âOkay. Now tell me what thing youâve forgotten to tell me.â
âThatâ¦â
.....
Before Richard could answer his question, their driver reported that they had arrived at the airport.
âYey, weâre going to meet with opa and oma!â Lori exclaimed excitedly and tried to open the door to greet her grandparents.
Anxia chuckled at her daughterâs behavior and didnât care anymore to find out what âsomethingâ her husband forgot to tell her.
In contrast to Anxia and Lori, who looked relaxed and happy, welcoming the arrival of the Calvins, Richard was even more agitated. He still hadnât told her!
Richard quickly caught up with his wife and daughter because he was a bit late getting out of the car. As soon as he reached their position, Richard called Anxia anxiously.
âXia Xia,â
âDaddy, has Opaâs plane landed yet?â Lori accidentally interrupted Richard. The atmosphere around was bustling because there were so many people passing by. Moreover, the Calvins were using a commercial plane this time so that they would appear at the arrival gate with the other passengers.
By reflex, Richard and Anxia immediately looked for the arrival schedule board to find the plane.
âLanded five minutes ago, honey. Theyâll be out of there in a minute.â
âYeah!!â Lori was about to run to approach the dividing line between the pick-up and the passengers who would leave at the arrival gate.
Anxia immediately caught up with Lori and took the childâs hand because she didnât want to repeat the incident six years ago where another person almost kidnaped her daughter.
Although she regretted letting her daughter off guard and almost being kidnapped by people, she didnât feel sorry that her life had changed drastically like this. Instead, she was grateful that Richard had tricked her and forced her to marry him.
Three people were standing in front of the arrival gate, waiting for the family they picked up. One stood enthusiastically, and one stood casually, hoping she could act normal and clear up her misunderstanding with her father-in-law. While the other one...
If there were a time machine in this world, Richard would use it and turn back time to two days ago. It would be better for Anxia to beat him in his house than to cause chaos in front of the whole family.
Not long after, a reddish-brown-haired girl appeared while wearing a pair of fashionable sunglasses. The girlâs clothes were wrapped in a knee-length female coat with a scarf that hung around her long neck.
The girl wore boots and walked as if she were walking on a catwalk stage.
âAUNT MONI!!â Lori shouted the girlâs name, making Moni take off her sunglasses.
âLORI!!â
Anxia laughed, seeing Lori and Harmonie running like children as they approached each other. None of them care about their surrounding eyes, observing them for their thundering voices. Not long after, Anxia saw Stanley and Meisya coming out holding hands, and Anxia smiled when she saw Meisya wave her hand at her.
Then, behind her two in-laws, Anxia saw a man with the same face as her husband, and she was sure that man was not her husband, turning her smile into an awkward and stiff one.
And her suspicions strengthened when she saw a lady walking next to the man pushing a baby carriage. Anxiaâs heart stopped when she saw the girlâs face.
Michele! That woman is Michelle Wong!
How could that be? How could Michelle be here? What a stupid question. Of course, the girl was here because Raymond was with her in-laws to pay a visit to London.
The real question is⦠how come she didnât know Michele was coming to London?
Anxia glanced at her husband with angry eyes. Now she realized what made her husband feel restless along the way. She also remembered her daughterâs pleasantries and made her promise to forgive Richard for forgetting to tell her something.
The man forgot to tell her that Michele is coming to London!!
âIâm sorry.â
Richard moved his mouth, saying his remorseful word without making a sound. His eyes, which usually looked dignified and full of naughty ideas to seduce her, now looked miserable and guilty.
He knew that even though Anxia acted like someone who didnât care about the past, she was still not ready to be confronted by the person she hated the most.
Although Michelle was not the one who destroyed Anxiaâs family life, for Anxia, ??Michele was the source of her ruined life.
Richard wished he could return to the previous days to tell Anxia first. It didnât matter if the girl was causing trouble or throwing a tantrum; at least Richard would be by her side to calm her down.
But the milk had already spoiled, and Anxia had to face the person she hated the most without preparation. Richard didnât have time to calm down Anxia, and his wifeâs tantrum could explode at any moment.
Richard tried to hold his wifeâs hand and breathed a sigh of relief when she didnât struggle or pull her hand.
To his surprise, Anxia wore a straight face which he knew immediately; Anxia had already put on her mask.
Richard knew his wife was hiding her real expression, but he didnât mind. As long as Anxia didnât explode or make a scene that desired to hurt Michele, Richard would accept whatever his wifeâs reaction was.
