137 Ch. 137 They Had A Night Walk?

If Quinn Heinest was a two-faced girl who liked to manipulate people around her with her sweet demeanor, then Andrew Heinest was a wise man that honored friendship and loyalty. Nevertheless, he had one weakness: his overwhelming guilt toward his sister, even though he did nothing wrong.

Whenever Quinn asked him a favor, he would grant it blindly before seeking the truth behind her wish, thanks to his guilt feeling. However, if he witnessed his sister’s misdeed or heard complaints from others, Andrew would scold Quinn and make her responsible for what she did. Aside from that, he would listen to his sister’s wishes and believe everything she said.

Even now, Quinn tried to control her brother by taking advantage of Andrew’s guilty feeling for her. She was thrilled as Andrew believed her words and deemed Richard an enemy.

Alas, she never expected that Andrew didn’t get her revenge as she wanted right away. In the past, if anyone dared to offend Quinn, Andrew would teach that person a lesson. He would have done it right away had Richard not been the main culprit. Quinn underestimated the man’s relationship.

Andrew knew who Richard was, and he knew Richard couldn’t possibly do something that would ruin their brotherly relationship. Plus, Richard never acted without reason.

Thus, Andrew only acted when he said those hurtful words to coax his crying sister. Andrew knew his sister’s real nature and wouldn’t blame Richard if the man hated Quinn. But seeing the injury all over Quinn’s body and listening to how Richard humiliated the girl by hanging her upside down, Andrew could barely control his emotions.

He disliked Quinn’s misbehavior, but that didn’t mean he would let his very best friend humiliate his sister like that.

Andrew faced a severe dilemma at this moment.

Andrew heaved his heaviest breath of the day. One was his dear and annoying sister, while the other was his best friend, akin to a brother. After pondering something, Andrew decided to call Richard to demand an explanation.

The following day, Lori woke up with a big smile to see her parents lying on either side of her. Because she had woken up and no longer felt sleepy, Lori couldn’t go back to sleep or move around, seeing that her parents were still sleeping soundly.

She could vividly remember what had happened last night. She recalled her father picking her up and carrying her in and out of the car. An ear-splitting ringing sound echoing the room and woke her parents up.

Richard groaned while stretching his muscles for a few seconds, while Anxia rubbed her eyes while yawning widely. She shifted her head toward the window and noticed it was barely dawn.

Who is calling this early? Giving no care, Anxia turned her head back to her comfortable position before backing to sleep. Richard did the same, and the ringing tone turned to deaf ears before it fell silent.

However, the caller was persistent, and the ringtone sounded again after a few seconds. Anxia groaned and decided to wake up. “You should get the call.”

“It can wait.” Richard moved closer to kiss his wife’s forehead. “Good morning.”

“Morning.” Anxia smiled meekly while wishing she could hide her face. She never knew that hearing a ‘good morning’ greeting created an indescribable warmth and contentment in her heart.

“Morning!!”

Anxia and Richard glanced down only to find their baby daughter lying on her stomach with her hands over her mouth. They could see the happy laughter in their daughter’s eyes that twinkled like the stars in the sky.

“Ah, baby girl, you’re so naughty. Since when did you wake up?” Richard stroked the top of his daughter’s head affectionately, ignoring the noise from his phone.

Lori bent her legs to get up and sat down on her knees. “Daddy, I want it too,” asked Lori while poking her forehead with her tiny finger.

Of course, Richard would never refuse his daughter’s wishes and would give her daughter the same kiss on the forehead. After that, Lori walked using her knees to approach her mother.

“Mommmyyyyy!”

“Loriiii!!” Anxia imitated her daughter’s style of calling with exasperation while gently pulling her daughter’s head and giving her daughter a few kisses on her face.

Lori chuckled and then rubbed her cheek against Anxia’s cheek indulgently.

Richard felt his heart swell with warmth when he saw that mother-daughter scene.

Riiiigg!! Riiiiinggg!!

Richard sighed softly before finally reaching for his phone on the box table. He grumbled inwardly, cursing anyone who contacted him early in the morning.

But he immediately withdrew his curse when he saw Andrew’s name appear on his screen. Without waiting a moment, Richard slid the call button aside and put his phone to his ear.

“Hello?”

After that, Anxia didn’t hear her husband’s words anymore because Richard walked out to answer his call.

“Mommy, where did you go for a walk yesterday?”

“Go for a walk?”

“I was too sleepy when daddy carried me, so I fell asleep right away when daddy carried me. But I remember we got into daddy’s car. Why did you leave me?”

Anxia chuckled, hearing her daughter’s tantrum. Luckily Lori thought they were out for a walk, when in fact, Anxia was torturing Quinn while Richard came to pick her up.

“We didn’t go for a walk, my dear. Just circling the town to make us tired.”

Lori believed her mother’s answer without the slightest hint of suspicion. After all, Lori did suspect that her parents couldn’t sleep and so decided to go out at night so they could feel sleepy.

On the other side, Richard, talking to Andrew, tried to hold back his emotions when he heard that Quinn had complained to Andrew without admitting what she had done to Lori.
