Ashley's POV
"Wanna come over?" I receive this text from Grayson.
I've been wanting to see him too, so. "Yeah! Okay." I reply.
"Will be waiting." He replies.
With the widest smile on my face, I reply. "Sure."
I get out of my room and quickly rush to my parent's room. I knock and when I hear a 'come in', I enter. Immediately, their attention is drawn to me.
I go further and sit on their bed. "Dad, Mum, there's something I need to tell you."
"What's it pumpkin?" Dad asks lips in a tight line.
What was I even here to say?
Aha! I remember. To tell them about us, Grayson and I.
Okay, so time to say it? Right!
I part my lips, "I have a uh-m...."
"What?" Dad motions with his hands as he waits for me to answer whilst mum rather looks at me skeptically.
Boyfriend
Boyfriend
Boyfriend
"A Boyfriend," I master courage and utter.
Tick!
Dad smiles, "I know. It's that guy, what's his name again?"
Tock!
Is he thinking I mean a boy-friend? As in a male friend? I sigh when I realize that he's probably thinking what I think he's thinking. "Grayson. But Dad what I'm trying to say is that both of us, I mean, him and I, we're d...dati...ing?"
Mum nearly choked on whatever it was in her mouth, "You're in a relationship?" She asks and you could see from how her eyes nearly bulged out of their socket that she was shocked. Even that would be an understatement.
I nod my head slowly to answer her question, unable to voice out. From my peripheral, I could see Dad smile.
"You never really had male friends but now for all I know you have a boyfriend?" Mum's brow creases, clearly not taking this situation lightly.
I didn't get to answer because Dad's voice stopped me, "When was that?"
"A few weeks ago," I mutter.
"And you didn't tell me?" Dad asks.
"We were busy with the Christmas preparations and all. I'm sorry."
He nods his head in understanding.
"Dad. You're not angry or acting overprotective?"
He chuckles under his breath. "He's a good kid."
"That's all?" I furrow my brows at him and his eyes glint in amusement.
"What were you expecting to hear?"
I let out a nervous chuckle, "Uh... I don't know."
"By the way, he hasn't honored my invitation to come over for dinner yet. Do remind him."
"You invited him for dinner. When was that?" mum asks.
Dad turns to her, "Some time ago."
"How come you know this Grayson and I don't?"
"I guess I forgot to tell you, honey. Is it too late to do so?"
"Yeah, it is. And you, young lady." She points at me, "Why didn't you tell me of this so-called Grayson that I seem to know nothing of?"
"I...I forgot?" I say uncertain.
"You too?" She accuses and I nod.
She looked at me like I had cheated her of something.
"C..can I go over to his place?" I ask no one in particular, hoping they'd both get the gist.
"Curfew's at seven pm," Dad says with finality.
"Okay." I nod my head, doing a mini dance in my head.
I get to go. Yay!!!
"Don't leave his house at Seven, what I mean is, get here by seven pm, understood?" He says with all seriousness and I nod my head over and over until a giggle leaves my lips.
"I agree with your Dad," Mum adds.
"I've heard you." I get up and head for the door.
"By the way, you and I are gonna talk, when you come back."
"Yes, mum!" I say before exiting the room.
Whoa!! That wasn't how I expected it to turn out.

Third Person's POV
She hadn't driven in a long while, so she decided to, today. She gets into the car her parents got for both Dylan and her, and drives to Grayson's place. He, on the other hand, was patiently waiting for her arrival. Yesterday being a Saturday, he spent it studying and today he's decided that he wanted to spend it with her. He wants to see her before school tomorrow. He misses her, so badly.
As he sits patiently in the living room, the doorbell rings and he rushes to get it. He opens the door and when he comes face to face with her, he pulls her in for a hug, an unexpected one, as his head rests in the crook of her neck. Ash's heart immediately starts its rhythmic beating, as a rush of tingles fills her belly. She loved his embraces, it made her like him even more.
"I missed you." He mumbles, breath and lips tickling and tingling her neck. She shudders with delight. She would have reciprocated his words but from being held hostage by the delight trailing in her being, she couldn't utter a thing. Instead, she makes a mild attempt of trying to hug him back. They say action speaks louder than words, and that was exactly what she was trying to do. Let the action do the talking instead. She finds herself rubbing circles with her palm on his back.
After what felt like forever, he pulled away.
They both look at each other, blushing furiously. He pulls her inside and shuts the door. They make themselves comfortable on a couch.
"You wanted to see me." She says immediately they sit, beside each other.
"Yeah!" He nods, "So how was your day?"
"Not bad." She answers. "Yours?"
"I was thinking of y.." He trails and studies her face, watching her closely. You, was what he intended to say. But what if it scares her away, the fact that he's thinking about her all the time? Perhaps he's taking it too fast? She might think so. As his thoughts continue to wander, his gaze involuntarily shifts to her lips and he clears his throat.
"I...I uh I had nothing to do. I was home alone, I urged for your company that's why I asked you to come." He smiles adoringly at her.
She nods her head, slightly disappointed. She didn't know why she thought he would say he was thinking of her. She'd wished that was what would dance past his lips but it didn't, and she couldn't help but feel slightly sad. Her thoughts on a norm, mostly drifted to everything about him, his smile, even today. Hopefully, she thought it'd be the same with him.
She forces a smile saying nothing.
"Can I ask you something?" He asks.
"Yeah, sure." She tugged on her shirt, playfully, wondering what he'd ask her.
"How have you stored my name on your phone?" He mutters.
When she processes his words, her eyes widen immediately, remembering how she had stored them.
No! no! no! She just couldn't tell him. How'd that sound in his ears?
"Uh, nothing." She utters without thinking.
Amusement danced in his eyes. "You stored my name as 'nothing'?"
"Um, no. What I mean is...." She starts to think of an excuse. It would be so embarrassing for him to find out how she's stored his number. ".... Can I get a drink?"
He stares at her confused but he nods his head however and leaves to get her a drink.
She starts to fan herself, all of a sudden feeling hot.
What to tell him? What to tell him?!!
Goodness! Nothing was coming to mind, blocked.
"Here!" His voice startles her and she lets out a yelp.
He furrows his brows, holding out a glass of juice to her. She takes it from him with slightly shaky hands.
"Thank you." She mumbles before taking a sip of her drink.
He takes his seat as he watches her drink the juice, "Why do I feel like you don't want to tell me?"
She was about to take another sip but halted at his words. She stares at him, smiling sheepishly. "It's embarrassing."
He frowns, confusion taking over his features. "What is?" He curiously asks.
"How I saved your contact. It's embarrassing, you might think of it as creepy or something." She sighs.
"I promise I wouldn't. I can even tell you how I stored yours if you want. If that is what it takes for you to tell me."
Her nerves now under control and curiosity taking over, "Okay, so now I'm intrigued to know." She places the glass on the center table. "How did you save my name?
He seemed fidgety for a second. He said that he'd tell her how he'd saved her contact only because he wanted her to spill. He didn't think she'd ask. He bites his cheek, "Promise if I tell you, you'd also tell me?"
"I cross my heart." She places her hand over her heart as she makes a serious face.
"Okay, I believe you." He smiles.
He pulls out his phone from his front pocket and goes to his contact list as she sits patiently intrigued by what this might turn out to be. He searches for her contact. Immediately he finds it, he raises his phone, screen towards her.
Her eyes scan his phone, Smile, it said.
"Smile?" She asks surprised.
He nods his head, a smile on his lips. "You make me smile without having to try. The amazing thing is, you don't even know. Your presence in my life has brought lots of smiles to my face. You make me happy so much that your smiles make me smile. You're the smile of my life, the main reason I smile."
Heat warms her cheeks, feeling touched by his words. "That's n...nice."Â She didn't know what to say.
They stared into each other's eyes, their faces lit with contented smiles.
"So would you tell me now?" Grayson breaks the silence, wiggling his brows at her in a teasing manner.
"I promised right?" She asks.
"Yeah, you did." They both laugh
"Call my number." She says.
"Okay?" He seemed a bit confused but complied whatsoever.
Her phone rings and she lifts her phone to show him.
Beautiful blue
"Beautiful blue." He reads out. He was equally confused as he tried to think of how she came about the name. "Beautiful blue? Why that?"
"Your eyes." She states matter-of-factly.
"My eyes?"
"Yes!" She laughs.
He thought for a moment, "They're blue."
"Exactly. I don't know they're so pretty to me, and captivating. So I thought, why not store it as this since you'll never find out but now you've found out and now you probably think I'm weird, right?"
"You're not and I love it." He smiles even wider.
"You do?"
"Yes. However you've stored it, I like it. Please don't change it."
"Okay. So you don't think I'm weird?"
He chuckles, "Of course not. I alse stored yours as 'Smile', remember?"
"I do remember but..." She starts but he cuts her off.
"No buts. We're both in this together."
She nods her head as they grin goofily, staring intensely at each other.
Slowly he gravitated toward her, closing the gap between them so that now they were shoulder to shoulder, facing one another. He inches even closer and cups her face with one hand. She loved it, the adrenaline rush. Involuntarily she shuts her eyes and leans into his touch. He places his lips on hers.
