"If you don't make mistakes, you're not working on hard enough problems."- Frank Wikzek.

Grayson's POV

Ashley enters the class and I follow after her. I was about to tell her 'Talk to you later' but before I could open my mouth, she briskly brushed past me toward her desk. Immediately, she plopped on it, there was nothing I could do than to head for my own seat, and that is exactly what I do.

And judging from the glares from some of the students —mostly girls— it was obvious they found out about Ashley and I's bumping into each other. Their seemingly confused gaze depicts their thoughts, I bet they're wondering what's going on just because Ashley and I entered the class together.

But must something be going on for me to enter the class together with a fellow classmate?

Pierson raises his brows at me as take I my seat and Cole turns to me with a questioning look.

"What?!!" I direct at both of them.

"What's going on?" Pierson asks.

"How do you mean?" I question back.

"You just entered the class with her...." Cole motions at Ashley from her seat and turns back to me disbelief weighing his features.

"Yes!  And what's wrong with that?" I frown at him.

"If there's something I know, it's that you both aren't friends. And what was that about you both crashing into each other?" he mutters all at once.

"I don't understand. We may not be friends, but I bumped into her and we were headed for the same class so I thought why not come to class together? Is something so wrong with that?"

Shaking his head Cole shrugs and goes back to whatever he was doing.

What's his problem?

"Man, nothing's wrong with you walking to class with her." Pierson starts "Absolutely nothing, but then think of it. Can't you see there's more to it than just that? Do you know the number of times I've caught you stare at her in class? That's just so..." he looks me dead in the eyes, a serious expression marring his features. "That's so unlike you," Pierson says, conviction clear in his eyes.

Is that true?

Ashley's POV

Wrong!!!

I was so wrong. I wasn't dreaming, neither was I hallucinating. Grayson, I've caught him staring at me these past two days. Whether it was at lunch, in the cafeteria, or it was in class, or just on school grounds, we found ourselves staring at each other and whenever our gaze clashed, I would tear my eyes away from his.

And mind you me I've had to deal with rumors going around about what happened a few days ago, Our bumping into each other. Rumors of me intentionally -haha, funny- bumping into him so I could run my fingers down his chest and abs. There was this particular one that said I rammed into him only to get him to notice me since he's popular and I'm not. There was also this one that said I used voodoo to charm him so he'd be wrapped around my fingers, that's why he crouched down to help me pick up my books.

I guess he has a lot of 'girl crushes' fawning over him. Of all these hate comments, and rumors circulating, ninety-nine percent are from his so-called girl crushes. I bet the whole female population hates me now just because I mistakenly bumped into him, all thanks to my best friend.

Anyway the rumors have managed to subside, there's a new gossip going around though. Could you believe immediately I stepped onto school grounds this morning whispers were going on and on about how a hot model that descended from above—their words, not mine— made entry into the school? From their words, I presume it's a girl and I was kind of wondering who this girl might be.

I went to class and not so long after, a girl entered the class, a smile plastered on her face and that was when the murmuring started. The guys were fawning and the girls were admiring. I guessed it right, it was the so-called hot model. There was something familiar about her, although she had shades on. Familiarity danced in the air as she took steps towards me and as she got closer, to say I was shocked would be an understatement. There she was in all her glory.

Cam

She looked so different, with her once curly brunette locks now straightened. She did have a new look, I wouldn't have known changing the style of your hair could affect your looks this much. She looked exquisite and I don't know if she went to a spa to enjoy some fineness but girl was glowing, her skin smooth and milky. And her smile, radiant, you needed to see her.

I now understand why they couldn't recognize her, she's.....different.

Immediately she takes her seat beside me, she takes off her shades grinning at me. I could feel the students' piercing gaze on us, attentive. I bet they were contemplating whether it was actually Cam or not. Without their gaze faltering, they watched attentively at our actions and interactions. It was obvious they had been able to grasp onto the fact that it was actually Camilla, with time.

I raise my brows at her in a 'start talking' manner, an explanation for her new makeover look. Her eyes glints in joy and just when she was about to tell me everything, the teacher had to interrupt us by showing his pretty face, I nearly punched him, imaginarily, for being such a party pooper.

-----

How was class? Well...

Class was the normal norm as always, nothing special. And there was break time, the stares were still the same. Only this time it was because I was with the so-called hot model. And their stares, a shiver crawls up my spine at how intense they were. Students are a tad pathetic and annoying at times so I ignore them.

At lunch people still stared shamefully, I even caught Cole staring at Cam. What a sight it was, intriguing to say the least. Cole is the closed-off type of guy, real bad, so staring at this so-called hot model is outta the question. I've heard people call him names like rude, mean, arrogant, and all that but sometimes we are wrong right? How do you judge someone without getting to know them first.... that's so not nice.

Closing finally happens, "Let's have a sleepover okay?" Cam points out immediately she drops me off at my house. Girl was on a whole different level.

"Why?" I couldn't help but wonder where this was coming from all of a sudden.

"It's kinda been a while." she pouts.

"True..." I tap my chin and nod in agreement.

"So...." she starts and I wiggle my brows at her in a 'continue' motion. "...I'll be at your house by six," she states.

"Whatever you say, Cammie." I tease.

"Eeew!! don't call me that." she scrunches up her face.

"I definitely have to call you that since you're now like a new person and all." I chuckle.

"You mean better kind of news?", her eyes gleam in delight as she runs her fingers through her hair and flicks it, a smile plastered on her face.

"Yeah, the better kind of new...." I air quote laying emphasis on the 'new' "...I could see how the guys were checking you out, almost like they couldn't recognize you. Where's my friend and what did you do to her?" I pout and shake her shoulders vigorously.

"I'm right here...hotter," she winks. We both burst out laughing at her childishness.

"I bet that's what the guys have been chanting in their heads all day. I mean, you came to school with your curly locks straightened and its edges trimmed. Come to think of it, sometimes boys like different, you can't blame them."

"I know right !!" she laughs.

"By the way what's your motivation behind this new look."

"Motivation?," she wiggles her brows "Well I wouldn't necessarily say I was motivated. Yesterday after school I was bored out of my mind, I saw my mum pick up her car keys and I knew she was going out, you know, like out out, and I didn't feel like being home so I asked her to take me along and she did. Yeah, so she took us to a spa and then a salon."

"Okay, not bad but next time remember to take me along too."

"Yeah, definitely."

"I almost forgot. Lucas' arrival is tomorrow."

"Really?!!" she squeals.

"Yeah." I chuckle.

"That's great! I can't wait to see him in person, I bet he looks hotter. Yaay!" she lets out another squeal and I roll my eyes at her. "I'm definitely spending the weekend here," she adds.

"Whatever you say, just get going already," I say and get out of her car.

"Bye!" I yell before entering my house.

When I enter the house, and later my room, I decide to take a nap before Cam's arrival because when she comes it's movie watching throughout the night till we finally fall asleep.

_____

I rub my eyes with the back of my palm as I take in my surroundings.

Nap!

Cam!

Sleepover

Picking up my phone from the bed, I unlock it and check the time. Two hours, I've slept for two hours.

Ping!

"I'm here!" - Cam.

Stretching my limbs lazily, I quickly type back a reply, "Just come up already."

"Miss me?", She texts back.

"In your dreams."

Not long after I hear footsteps climb up the stairs. It gets closer and closer and finally, my best friend enters my room. She shuts the door behind her and crosses her arms over her chest, a mock frown displayed on her face.

"Tell me you miss me," she pouts.

I shake my head, "No can do, I just saw you a few hours ago."

"Really?" She childishly wiggles her brows, and by the look on her face I could tell her playful mode was activated.

"Yeah."

"Ash.."

"Cam.."

"Ash..."

"Cam"

"Ashley!"

She climbs the bed and lurches for me. She throws the duvet off me and straddles me, fingers going to my sides and that's when the tickling starts. I start laughing immediately, I'm not really ticklish but with Cam's fingers, you dare not say you aren't ticklish, it works magic, tickling the un-ticklish. You get my point?

"Cam stop.." I plead in-between laughter, "..pleeeeaaaasse." She doesn't stop, instead she increases her pace.

If I don't tell her that I miss her too she's definitely not going to stop.

"Okay, okay..."I say in hopes that she'll stop, "I'll say it."

She stops tickling me and with a smile on her face she motions with her hands "Go on," she says.

"What if..." I start but she cuts me off as her fingers go to my sides again.

"Okay, okay...I miss you too." I manage to mutter in between laughs. Immediately those words leave my lips her fingers stop their deed and she climbs off me.

"Jeez, you're crazy." I wipe away tears from my eyes.

"Well, I'm me." she flicks her hair over her shoulders.

"Come downstairs for dinner," Mum calls out to us.

"Okay," we say in unison, before heading downstairs.

I plop on one of the chairs at the dining table and Cam takes a seat on the one opposite me. Dad descends the stairs and takes his seat as well.

Ding!!

"Ashley, get the door," Mum says.

Is Mum expecting anyone?

Well...how's that my business? I don't even know.

"Okay, mum." I get up from my seat and head for the door.

I grab the handle of the door and open it gingerly. I lift my eyes expectantly to whoever it might be.  Instantly, a ravishing smile greets me and I forget how to breathe.

Lucas??
