Junhyuk had to move around a lot. The monster waves were announced, and civilians were evacuated, but even in shelters, people werenât safe.
The monsters burst right through those shelters.
The iron soldiers and the other powered were dealing with those situations.
While Junhyuk teleported from one tear to another, shutting them one by one, many people were dying to the chimeras.
The novices received the greatest number of casualties. Some of those who survived became experts.
Nevertheless, too many people died.
Elise and Junhyuk hadnât finished their items by this wave. The number of casualties was high this time, but hopefully, once their items were finished, they would help make things easier.
That wouldnât happen immediately, however, so the two behind to guard Guardians.
âShit!â
There was nothing else he could do about the situation. It was a matter of time. Because he was alone, he couldnât cover multiple locations.
Junhyuk had closed three hundred tears, but the places he hadnât gotten too yet still had chimeras exiting the tears. They were coming out of the tears with no end in sight, and thatâs when Junhyuk realized he had to close them all.
After closing three hundred, even with Harmonizer active, Junhyuk started getting tired.
He closed another tear and decided to continue until he had closed all twelve hundred.
It took his two minutes to close a tear. In an hour, he could close thirty tears, so he had been at it for ten hours already.
The enemy monsters werenât strong from his perspective, but their numbers were absurd. The problem was the time, and there was nothing he could do to go faster.
âHow many chimeras have come out?â
âWeâve killed five thousand chimeras so far, but we donât have a number for how many are out or will be out.â
They hadnât included the number of those he had killed. Junhyuk had already killed a few thousand, so there mustâve been around ten thousand out.
Soren was the new team leader and the one who had made this decision.
Junhyuk shook his head and continued slashing. It would take him another forty hours without rest to finish.
âI wish someone else had dimensional powers.â
Very few beings had dimensional powers, and that included the managers. Those powers couldnât be found in other humans.
He had to work harder.
â
Even though Junhyuk possessed Harmonizer, closing 1,200 tears was hard for him. He worked on it for forty straight hours, and because of that, though he hadnât rested, his fighting skills had improved.
Without Harmonizer, he wouldnât have been able to do it. Junhyuk was exhausted.
âAny more tears?â he asked Elise.
âNo.â
Junhyuk sighed and said, âIâll ask Eunseo about the casualties.â
âSure.â
Junhyuk teleported to Eunseoâs office, and she gave him a hesitant smile. He smiled back at her.
âYouâve worked hard.â
âI did what I had to do,â Junhyuk said with a shrug. âThe manager knew about my powers. How many casualties?â
âThere is $2 million in financial damage; 274 novices and 72 experts have died; 24 novices became experts; 1 expert became a champion.â
âWe have a new champion?!â
âYes.â
âThatâs good.â
The manager wanted another hero. With just another hero, Junhyuk wouldnât have to face Soren anymore.
The chance of becoming a hero was very low, but he was glad to have gotten another champion.
âIâll be going.â
âRest.â
After talking to Eunseo, he left and went to see Elise again.
âDid many die?â she asked.
âYes. The number of civilian casualties was low, but many of ours died.â
Elise sighed and said, âWhen I complete my item, Iâll be able to deal with the monster waves more effectively.â
âWhat are you making?â
âA battleship. Gongon build one as his lair. Mine wonât be able to warp, but itâll help.â
âA battleship?!â Junhyuk asked again. âWhat is Sarang making?â
âSheâs crafting an artifact thatâll allow for warping.â
âI promised Iâd invite Artlan once the monster waves were done.â
âInvite me too!â
âHow long will you take?â
Elise scratched her cheek and said, âAbout another fifteen days.â
âWeâll have two more waves before that.â
âIf I get help, I can be done sooner.â
âWho do you need?â
Elise smirked and replied, âGongon.â
Junhyuk stared at her and asked, âYou wanted to show it to Gongon, right?â
âIâll need his help, but he can also help with the monster waves.â
âSure.â
Elise was making something useful, something that would really help, so Junhyuk decide to contact Gongon.
âIâll ask him.â
Junhyuk used his Dimensional Shift to move to Gongonâs lair. When he got to Gongonâs dimension, he contacted the dragon.
âGon, Iâm in your lair.â
âYou are?!â Wait a minute!â When Gongon showed up, he smirked at Junhyuk and asked, âWhatâs going on?â
âI have a favor to ask of you.â
âA favor?â
âElise is building a battleship, and she needs your help.â
Gongonâs eyes beamed.
âA battleship!? My lair mustâve inspired her!â
âThatâs right. Sheâll need fifteen days to finish construction. In the meantime, two more monster waves will hit Earth.â
Gongon nodded and said, âBecause of the managers.â
âRight.â
âOK. Iâll go with you. I want to see your dimension.â
Junhyuk grabbed Gongonâs hand and used his Dimensional Shift. They crossed dimensions, and Gongon seemed to be having fun until he got to Eliseâs lab. There, he scowled and asked, âWhat is this place?!â
âWhat? Why?â
âI canât feel any mana around!â Gongon shouted and turned to Elise, who smiled at him and said, âMy house has plenty of mana, but this is more important right now. Can you be patient?â
âWhere is your battleship?â
âFollow me.â
Elise took the lead, but turned to Junhyuk suddenly and said, âYou can see it yet.â
âCan I see it later?â
âSure.â
He gave her a bitter smile and said, âOK. I have somewhere to be.â
Junhyuk teleported back to his training facility and contacted Artlanâs team.
ARtlan was drinking, and Vera had goggles on while she looked at something. Nudra was at the top of a mountain, and Halo was in total darkness. Diane was taking a bath in a moonlit lake.
They all smiled at him. It seemed like they bore no grudge about the final round.
âWhat is going on?â Artlan asked.
âIâve stopped the monster waves.â
âThat took a while.â
âThere were too many of them. I had no time to spare.â
âThe managers must have been prepared to deal with the winner of the tournament. Are you inviting us over?â
âYes.â
âThen, do it.â
Junhyuk sent the invitations, and everyone showed up. They looked around as soon as they got there.
âYou arenât ready.â
Junhyuk smirked and extended his hand. They all stared at him.
âLetâs go eat some food,â he said.
âWhere?â
âMy dimension.â
Everyoneâs eyes beamed. Vera seemed to be the most curious.
âWe canât exit this facility.â
âWith my Dimensional Shift, you can.â
Everyone grabbed hold of him, and Junhyuk used his Dimensional Shift. Both the battlefield and the training facility were located in the space between dimensions.
Junhyuk could teleport in and out of the training facility. He knew the coordinates, and now, he could go anywhere he had been to before.
They all appeared in Eunseoâs office because Elise wasnât at her lab.
Eunseo got up from her seat, and Junhyuk smiled at her.
âIâve brought my friends.â
Eunseo bowed to Artlan, who averted his gaze from her. Staring at her, Nudra said, âYouâve been training. You need a real teacher now.â
âWill you teach me?â
âMaybe I have some time,â Nudra said with a pretend shrug, and Junhyuk laughed.
âIâll show you Earth.â
Junhyuk could go anywhere on Earth, so he was about to show them everything he could.
