“What is it? Tell me right here.” Jaspernever once took his eyes off Alyssa.

Landon furrowed his brows as he wondered how to go about it.

“Jasper! Jasper!”Suddenly, he wasspooked by a wailing female voice from afar. Meanwhile, Jasper frowned and straightened up from shock.

Lauren was woken up by the screeching voice and stirred in Alyssa’s embrace. Her eyes fluttered open as she held tightly onto Alyssa’s shirt.”What’s going on? Did something happen to Grandpa?”

“Hey, Lauren, everything’s fine. Nothingbad will happen to him when I’m around.”Alyssa shot a glare at the distressed Liana and helped Lauren sit up.

Alyssa continued, “Lauren, I’ll find a place for you to rest. Grandpa can meet you the first thing after he wakes up.”

Alyssa’s emotionless exit put a bullet through Jasper’s chest. He felt suffocated by the paini.

“Jasper!”Liana’s eyes were swollen fromthe crying. She was about to throw herself into Jasper’s arms when Landon stopped her coldly.

He advised, “Ms. Gardner, this is not the time to be meeting Jasper. As a daughter, you should visit your dad at the hospital and get your mo m a capable attorney.”

She ignored his suggestion and shamelessly wailed at Jasper,”I’m framed! I’m the victim. You must believe in me! Liana was stunned by Landon’s heartless remark and shuddered. Jasper finally turned around stiffly and glared at Liana.”Leave.”

Little did she know that Jasper had texted Xavier. Xavier showed up with two bodyguards to send her away.

“Remove her. Let’s not disturb otherpatients,”Jasper ordered in an icy tone.

“Got it!” Xavier furiously rolled up hissleeves and took Liana away by her arms with the help of another bodyguard.

“There’s nothing between Curtis and I …He … He raped me because I refused to date him! That’s how I got pregnant with his child!”

Liana resorted to telling a ridiculous lie to get out of it. “He blackmailed me repeatedly and dragged me down with him when I refused to give in. He wanted to destroy me!

“Jasper, I’m a victim as well! Why do yourefuse to trust me?”
