Emmeline was lying on her bed, scrolling through her phone.
âThat was awesome.â Abel leaned down and pinched her nose. âYou knocked her out in one fell swoop.
She just took over her companyâs Struyria market and was raring to go.â
âHey, she asked for this.â Emmeline put her phone down and wrapped her arm around Abel. âShe tried to steal you and slandered me. This is what she gets.â
âFeisty.â Abel kissed her cheek and smiled. âBut I like it.â
âSay, you wanna guess what happens to her next?â Emmeline winked cheekily.
âNot a clue.â Abel smiled. âWhat happens to her depends on what you want to do.â
âShe thinks Iâm easy prey. Letâs see how she likes this.â Emmeline kissed Abelâs chin. âWell, Iâll let her off the hook if she bows her head.â
âLetâs not talk about them.â Abel pinned her down and hoarsely said, âI need more. And it hasnât been minutes since then.â
âOh, no.â Emmeline pushed his chest away. âYou gotta stop, or I donât think I can walk.â
âItâs alright.â Abel kissed her. âYou still can hang on to me if you need to go around. Literally.â
Emmeline was about to say no, but Abel had leaned closer. She gasped, but she eventually relented and played along.
Evelyn and Flynn hurried to Adelmar, but Joey stopped them.
âWeâd like to see Mr. York,â said Flynn. âPlease tell him weâre here.â
âHeâs not in,â said Joey. âHave you made a reservation?â
âNo,â said Flynn. âBut this is urgent. Iâm a Murphy Group rep.â
âMurphy Group, eh?â Joey said.
âYeah, thatâs right.â Evelyn nodded haughtily. âNow tell him weâre here.â
âNope. No reservations, no meeting. Not even if youâre a god.â Joey shrugged. âSorry.â
âWhy you littleâ¦â Evelyn went pale with fury. Sheâs looking down on me.
âEvelyn.â Flynn held her arm. âCalm down.â
âIf you want to see him, youâll have to make a reservation.â Joey whipped out her logbook. âHere, write your name in this book. Iâll call him and make the arrangements.â
Evelyn looked at the logbook angrily. She had a feeling this secretary was just being rude to them.
Flynn had the same feeling as well, but he wasnât as rash as his sister. He took the pen and wrote down the details of his reservation in the book.
Joey took it and repeated what he had written. Once she was sure it was all right, she called Benjamin.
âMr. York. We have two guests from Murphy Group here. Theyâd like to see you. Itâs about business, yes. Will you be seeing them?â
Flynn said, âMiss, can you tell him that itâs urgent? Weâd like to see him now.â
Joey rolled her eyes. âSir, they say itâs urgent. Theyâd like to see you now. Oh, youâre at the golf court?
Youâll meet them there? Of course, sir.â And she hung up.
Evelyn and Flynn felt a little more at ease after hearing that Benjamin wanted to see them. âHeâs behind the building. Thereâs a golf court somewhere up the hill,â said Joey. âIf you want to see him, thatâs where he is.â
âThank you, miss,â said Flynn.
Evelyn shot Joey an angry look and stormed off. They came to the golf court, and the guard opened the door. Flynn parked his car and went inside with his sister. The gold court was about the size of the whole hill, and the plains were vast and wide. It was a good golf court. There was a big parasol nearby, and underneath it were a table and chair. There were juices on the table, but Benjamin was nowhere to be found.
