âBenjamin, I donât have a grudge against you, and I donât want to make enemies. I suggest you mind your own business.â Adam said.
âAbel is my friend. If you are an enemy of his, that means you are my enemy as well.â Benjamin said.
âI already told Abel that this is all a misunderstanding.
âA misunderstanding? Where is Emmett then?â Benjamin asked.
âUpstairs.â
âAdam, please ask him to come downstairs. If you hurt him, donât blame me for turning against you.â
Abel said coldly.
âIâm very polite towards Emmett. Why would I hurt him?â Adam said.
âI hope so.â
Adam clapped his hands. A servant came over. Adam asked him to bring Emmett downstairs. The servant complied and went upstairs to open the door of Emmettâs room.
Emmeline ran out of her room and was shocked when she saw what was happening when she ran downstairs.
There was a stand-off between Abelâs men, Benjaminâs men, and Adamâs men. All of them were pointing their guns at each other.
âEmmett! How are you?â Abel saw Emmeline and shouted.
âMr. Ryker! Iâm so glad to see you here. I was so afraid.â Emmeline ran downstairs and went into Abelâs embrace.
âItâs all right now. It was all my fault for being careless. I almost made a huge mistake,â Abel said while patting Emmelineâs back.
He put Emmeline down and checked on her to make sure she was fine. Benjamin was also relieved to see that Emmeline was safe.
âBen, youâre here too? Thank you.â Emmeline waved her hand.
âYouâre all right. What a relief. Otherwise, thereâll be a bloodbath here.â Benjamin said.
Emmeline stuck her tongue out and said, âI didnât run away on my own. This man abducted me.â
âWhatever! Iâm sure all of you can see that I didnât do anything to Emmett. Why donât we all keep our guns?â Adam said with a gloomy face.
Abel and Benjamin looked at each other and nodded. They instructed their bodyguards to put away their guns. No one at Adamâs side dared move. They were afraid that they would be killed when they put away their weapons. However, Abel and Benjamin would not be so foolish to fight them.
âEmmett, leave with me.â Abel put his hand on Emmelineâs shoulder and turned around to leave the mansion. Benjamin and his men were following behind.
Luca walked at the back. Everyone left Avalan as quickly as they could.
Adam was so angry to see them leave. It was already the second time that Abel had come and gone as he wished. Adam kicked the coffee table in front of him and shouted, âAbel, I will never forgive you!â
âMaster, how do you plan to deal with them?â Alana appeared again and asked.
âWell⦠We need to plan this out for now.â Adam sneered.
âYou are right. Abel is not an easy opponent.â Alana said.
âI will soon get him. Then, I will torture him.â Adam finished the wine on the table and smashed the glass afterward.
Abel brought Emmeline back to âThe Precipiceâ and parked the car. He got out of the Rolls-Royce and opened the door for Emmeline.
Kendra welcomed them while carrying Quincy. It was a familiar and warm situation. Abel and Emmeline could feel it in their hearts. Abel suddenly thought the person beside him was not âEmmettâ but Emmeline instead. He couldnât help but look in âEmmettâsâ direction.
âWhatâs wrong?â Emmeline noticed Abelâs stare.
âItâs nothing,â Abel said while holding her tightly. âI only felt a weird feeling.â
Emmeline thought Abel was having a reaction toward her. She was afraid that Abel would recognize her, so she quickly shook off Abelâs hand to greet Kendra.
âKendra, is Quincy awake?â
