Abel returned to The Precipice. Although he could not confirm that Emmelineâs incident was related to Alana, he found her to be the most suspicious person because Alana was jealous and hated Emmeline. She already killed innocent people at Brookwater Village and tried to kill Kendra and Quincy. There was not anything that she dared not do.
However, Abel knew that there was someone helping her from behind. Otherwise, her crime would not be as perfect as it was. Abel wondered if the mastermind was Adam. He was not sure now, but he had Adam in his sights.
Abel felt a sharp pain in his gut and went upstairs while pressing his hand against his stomach.
Abel opened the door and saw Kendra sitting in his chair. Her hand was holding the bloodstained shirt he took off just now.
Kendra heard him and turned around. Then, she pounced on his body and started checking all over his body.
âWhere did you get hurt? Did you injure your stomach?â Kendra kept on saying as she tried to unbutton Abelâs shirt.
âKendra! What are you doing?â Abel shook off Kendraâs hand.
âThereâs blood. Mr. Abel, you are hurt. Let me see your wound. I am a nurse. I can treat your woundâ¦â
Kendra said while panicking.
âIâm not hurt! I only have a stomachache. Iâm putting my hand against my stomach.â Abel pushed Kendra away.
âStomachache?â Kendra calmed down and went into Abelâs arms the next moment. âIâm glad to see that youâre fine. I was so scared when I saw blood.â
âKendra, are you out of your mind? Please calm down!â Abel pushed her away.
âMr. Abel, donât misunderstand. I donât mean anything else. You are the savior for both me and Quincy.
Both of you are my family. I only see you as my brother. I was worried when I saw you get hurt. I donât have other intentions. Donât overthink.â Kendra said as she shook her head.
âI hope so. Otherwise, Iâll chase both of you out of this place.â Abel nodded.
Kendra wiped her tears off her face and pointed at the bloodied suit on the chair. âWhat about the blood on your shirt?â
Abel kept quiet because he did not want to talk about it.
âMr. Abel, are you really not injured?â Kendra looked at him and wanted to cry again.
âYes. The blood belongs to Emmaâ¦â Abel nodded.
âEmma⦠Are you talking about Ms. Louise? What happened to her?â
Abel still did not want to talk about it.
âSince you didnât bring Ms. Louise back, does it mean something happened to her?â
âYes.â Abel finally nodded.
âMr. Abel! What happened to Ms. Louise?â Kendra pounced on Abel again.
âThis isnât something you should be concerned about. You donât need to wash the shirt. Iâll keep them.â
Abel pushed Kendra away.
âYou donât want me to watch them?â Kendra was stunned, then she held the doorframe to support herself. âAre you saying that Ms. Louise is alreadyâ¦â
âNo. Emma will be back. Just stop asking questions.â Abel stopped her.
However, Kendraâs face was pale. She wondered how Emmeline could be fine when she had lost so much blood.
Then, Luca came running upstairs.
âMr. Abel, Ms. Evelyn is here.â
Abel frowned and said, âWhy is she here?â
âShe came here on her own. She was waiting at the gate,â Luca said.
âChase her away! Tell her that I wonât see her.â Abel said with a frown.
âIâll inform her then.â Luca turned around and ran downstairs.
âHelp me get some stomach medicine. It hurts a lot.â Abel ordered Kendra while covering his stomach.
âWhere is it? Is it in the drawer?â Kendra asked.
âItâs in the drawer in the study.â Abel sat down on the sofa. He was nauseous from the pain.
âOh. Wait for me.â Kendra ran to the study to find the medicine.
Then, Luca ran upstairs again.
