Julianna jumped in before Emmeline could say anything.
âWhat? Youâre having an affair with Benjamin?â
Emmeline was shocked. What the bell?
Why must Julianna put an ugly label on her relationship?
It was only then Alondra took notice of Julianna behind one of the tables. She took a moment in a daze before saying hello. âGee, Madam Julianna. Youâre here too.â
âAm I not allowed here? I am the grandmother of the three kids, unlike some people who arenât actually related by blood.â Pulling a long face, Julianna let out a scoff.
Alondra stiffened her facial muscles before agreeing with Julianna, â⦠Of course, youâre their grandmother.â
Lifting her chin, Julianna asked, âHmph! What did you say? Whatâs going on between Emmeline and Adelmarâs Benjamin?â
âWhat do you mean whatâs going on? Mr. Benjamin came with Emma to our home to have dinner.
Julianna was thrown for a loop.
It was quite a bombshell.
Julianna gave Emmeline a confused look.
âIt explains why you donât find Adrien good enough for you. So you hooked up Adelmarâs Mr.
Benjamin.â
âWatch your mouth, Julianna.â Emmeline was tempted to kick the old lady out âHook up? All Mr. Benjamin did wás have dinner at the Louise household. What? Was it against the law?â Alondra was not having âBut Emmeline gave Adrien children. She should be with Adrien,â Julianna said.
âWho said so? Adrien canât compare to Benjamin.â
âHow is my son lesser than Benjamin!â Julianna was on the verge of jolting from her seat.
âOne is the CEO of Adelmar, and the other is a playboy. What do you think?â
Julianna was at a loss for words. She had no reason to be proud of her son/
Alondra replied, âDonât put the blame on Emma then. People should always strive for greater heights, donât you think?â
âSave it, Alondra,â Emmeline snapped.
âAm I wrong? Your dad and I are counting on Adelmar,â Alondra answered.
Emmeline was dying to go full potty mouth for being pushed to the edge.
âEmma, your best man for you is Benjamin, not Adrien.â
âAlondra!â Julianna screamed while coming at Alondra.
âEnough! Get out before I start beating everyone!â With her finger pointing at the door, Emmeline shouted.
âEmma, you canât turn your back on Adrien,â Julianna uttered.
âGet out!â
âEmma, pick Benjamin,â Alondra insisted.
âGet out!â
âEmmaâ¦â
âMommy told you to get out!â Sun picked up a toy and threw it at them.
âIâll call the cops if you donât leave.â Moon shoved Julianna out.
âLeave, you evil Nana!â Star yanked Alondra.
Unable to take it anymore. Sam grabbed the broom and poked these ladiesâ feet.
âLeave! Leave now before I hit you!â
Daisy came down from upstairs and pulled open the glass door before yelling, âGet the hell out of here!â
Intimidated, the two high-born women slipped away with their tails between their legs.
âTake your things!â
Emmeline took the shopping bags and tossed them all on the street.
âWham!â Peace returned to the café once the door was closed.
The people inside the café were heaving with rage.
Even the three kids were panting heavily Emmeline sat on the chair, unable to hide the flush across her face.
Daisy quickly gave her a shoulder massage while Sam made her a cup of coffee.
âTake it easy, Ms. Louise. Those people are not worth your time and emotions.â
With Julianna returning angrily to Meriwether Mansion, Adrien was more than eager to have a chat.
âHow did it go, Mom? Are Emmeline and my sons still angry at me?â
Julianna gave her son a slap. âThey are more than angry. Itâs all your fault. Why did you fool around with so many women from the Imperial Palace?â
âYou know Iâm a free spirit way back then. I told you Iâm a changed man now.â
âBut Emmeline wonât believe you. Not only is she furious with you, but sheâs now together with Adelmarâs Benjamin too.â Julianna took a sip of tea.
âB-Benjamin? No way. Emmeline is not the type of girl.â Adrien was dumbstruck.
âThatâs a joke. How did she have your babies if sheâs not that type of girl?â Julianna scoffed.
