Adrien still left.
Janieâs disposition toward Emmeline underwent a complete transformation.
âEmma, I misunderstood you. Iâm sorry.â
âEmma, would you like to be my best friend? We can spend time together and do fun things.â
âHey, Emma, next time you schedule something with Mr. Benjamin, shall we grab some food together?â
âMs. Eastwood,â Emmeline said impatiently, âI still have work to do. Can we talk another time?â
âOh, okay,â Janie said, waving her hand. âI wonât take up much more of your time. Emma, Iâll see you soon.â
âOkay,â Emmeline said, her ears finally at peace.
âEmma!â Director Faughn shouted from outside, âItâs your turn!â
âOkay, Iâm coming!â
Emmeline changed her clothes and left the set after filming.
Adrienâs sports car was elegantly parked outside the renowned Pizzeria Draghi, a local establishment known for its delectable pizza.
He acted cool and propped himself against the hood of his car, a faint smile playing upon his lips as he awaited the arrival of a pretty lady.
As Emmeline approached him, she leaned over and deftly opened the passenger door next to the driverâs side.
âHere, Iâm returning this to you.â
Emmeline removed her necklace and gave it to Adrien âI didnât want to embarrass you in front of Janie.â
Adrien was stunned for a moment.
âI didnât come here to eat. Iâm going back to the café.â
âEmma,â Adrien exclaimed as he hastily took hold of her hand, âI understand youâre busy earning a living, but you donât have to exert yourself so much. You still have me. Iâll look after you and the kids. Iâm not the same Adrien I used to be. You have to trust me!â
âWeâll see about that,â Emmeline said as she reached for the car door.
âEmma.â Adrian held her back again. âIâll give you a bank card right now. Itâs for the childrenâs living expenses. You really donât have to rush back to sell coffee.â
Emmeline was quiet for a while.
Emmelineâs expression turned sullen as she replied, âMy employee is managing the café alone, so I need to hurry back.â
âBut what about the childrenâs living expensesâ¦â
âI can handle the kids on my own.â
With the bank card in hand, Adrien watched as The massive motorcycle she rode was still stationed at the studioâs entrance.
She got caught in the rain yesterday, so Benjamin drove her home to rest. He then returned her in the morning.
âEmma!â Adrien exclaimed as he started the car and pursued her. âDonât turn me down!â
Emmeline had already mounted her motorcycle and sped off.
Alana returned to the hospital and panted heavily on the bed.
The sight that unfolded before her at âThe Precipiceâ was beyond her wildest imaginings.
Abel had his arms around the naked Emmeline while he was sleeping on the bed.
Moreover, they had spent the entire night together.
It was throughout the entire night!
What was it that they couldnât do?
âEmmeline!â
Alana harbored such intense disdain that the relentless clenching of her teeth caused pain, nearly shattering them.
âI canât just let you go. I want you to disappear completely!â
After standing up, she closed the wardâs door, retrieved her mobile phone, and proceeded to call Adam.
âMr. Adam, I have something to ask of you.â
âAlana, arenât you supposed to be resting?â Adam snorted coldly.
âMr. Adam,â Alana said, âI want you to help me get rid of Emmeline. I am willing to do whatever it takes.â
âHehe,â Adam sneered, âWhat exactly are you capable of doing? What can you do for me?â
âI want Emmeline dead, I want to marry Abel, and I am willing to serve as your informant for the rest of my life. If anything happens at Ryker Group, I will let you know anything and everything right away!â
âJust donât underestimate Abel.â
âAnd I definitely wonât underestimate you, Mr. Adam.â
âI will think about it,â Adam said, âWhen the time is right, I will help you deal with her!â
With that, Adam coldly ended the call.
Alana felt a little confused.
Judging by his tone, Adam didnât seem too bothered about helping her.
What should she do now?
She couldnât just walk out of the hospital, having been âseriously injured,â and wreck Emmeline.
However, Alana didnât want to continue enduring the situation.
Alana thought about it for a bit, then decided to give Alondra a call.
âAuntie Alondra, I need your help to teach that b*tch, Emmeline, a lesson!â
âWhatâs the matter this time?â
The timbre of Alondraâs voice earried a subtle hint of impatience.
