Emmeline did not say anything, but her red face told Benjamin everything that needed to be said.
âDonât forget what Mr. Adelmar told you,â Benjamin reminded her. âHe and Mr. Ryker wereâ¦â
Emmeline nodded. âI know. I never forgot Masterâs words.â
âIâll be leaving then. Someone will deliver formal clothes for you and the children to the café.â
âNo!â Emmeline blurted.
Benjamin stared at her.
âI mean⦠Abel has already made preparations,â Emmeline explained bashfully Benjamin was silent for a few seconds before nodding and saying, Alright then.â
The next morning, Emmeline went to settle the discharge paperwork for Hesperus.
Everyone from Meriwether Mansion, other than Adam, was present.
Abel had been there since early in the morning.
Adrien was hostile. âAbel, Iâm very grateful that you saved my son, but whatever happens after that is none of your business. You should return to your office.â
âDonât leave, Daddy!â Hesperus desperately clung to Abelâs hand.
âIâm your daddy, Star!â Adrien crouched to the boyâs eye level. âThis man is your uncle.â
âHeâs not my uncle.â Hesperus pouted and shook his head. âSun, Moon, and I want him to be our daddy.â
Adrien was about to throw a tantrum when Julianna came to Hesperus and home. Sun and Moon are waiting for you.â
âBut I want to be with Mommy.â Hesperus looked at Julianna with his puppy eyes. âMommy, you havenât spent any time with Sun and Moon lately because youâre in the hospital with me. Why donât you ask Granny to let them come home with us?â
âNo way!â Julianna said angrily. âYou will return to the Ryker family!â
âI donât wanna!â Hesperus reached out to Emmeline. âI donât want to leave you, Mommy!â
Emmeline hugged Hesperus and kissed his cheek. âDonât worry, Star. No one will take you away from me. Youâre all my children, and Iâll always be by your side.â
âBut Granny saidâ¦â
No one wants to separate you and your mommy,â Julianna said. âMy home is your home too, isnât it?
Itâs very normal for you to stay over at your grannyâs house. Isnât that so, Emmeline?â
Julianna turned her head to gaze at Emmeline authoritatively, though Emmeline could see that she was also begging her.
Emmeline smiled and nodded. âThat makes sense. You donât have to worry, Star. Your Grandpa and Granny love you very much.â
âOkay then.â Hesperus nodded.
âIâll carry you.â Adrien reached out to take Hesperus from the bed.
âNo!â Hesperus turned and faced Abel. âwant this Daddy to carry me.â
Abel picked Hesperus up, which caused Adrienâs expression to drop.
âMust you always fight with me, Abel?â
âThe child chose me.â
âThatâs enough.â Landen did not want them to argue again. âThe party will be at Ryker Mansion, and the kids will be there in the evening anyway. It doesnât matter who carries the boy.â
âIâll bring the kids home with me,â Emmeline said. âIâll dress them up, so they can be at their best when they meet their great-grandfather.â
âOkay.â Landen nodded and said to Adrien, âFetch Sun and Moon from our home and bring them to Emmetineâs house. After sheâs done grooming them, you can send them to Ryker Mansion.â
âYes, Father!â Adrien agreed to it without showing any hesitation.
Landen turned to speak to Emmeline authoritatively, âDoes this arrangement satisfy you?â
Emmeline smiled and said, âItâs a good plan. I agree with it.â
Both of them were thinking, No one can take my sons (grandsons) away from me!
Not long after Emmeline and Hesperus returned to the café, Adrien brought Helios and Endymion over.
The triplets were finally reunited once more.
In the afternoon, Emmeline helped the boys take baths and dressed them in the tuxedos Abel had brought them.
âWow, Ms. Louise! They look so handsome! Theyâre like the sun, moon, and stars in the sky!â Daisy exclaimed.
